Manipulate the numbers until they scream:
Shootings and murders have risen over 50% in 2020 compared with the same period last year.
Meanwhile, 67 Chicago police officers have been shot at — 10 of them struck by bullets — so far this year. That’s nearly a four-fold increase from last year when 17 officers were shot at, two of them struck by gunfire.
These are some of the new crime statistics released Sunday by the Chicago Police Department, showing trends through the end of October.
Despite skyrocketing gun violence — against citizens and police — the CPD said other crime decreased in 2020 as a coronavirus pandemic shut down much of the city.
So the numbers that matter - homicides, shootings, assaults on police - are skyrocketing while other crimes are "down" - burglary, theft. Any particular reason for this? Besides the fact that (A) everything is shut down and (B) people are staying home?
We may have missed it, but did they skip the Carjacking number? Because that one is up like 1,000% over last year.

Mind boggling that during 2020 SCAMDEMIC where most of the City of Chicago,s population has been locked down and there have been no large gatherings,besides the looting,rioting and protests,that City Hall and the CPD would be making any claims that crime is down or compare this year to any other year.
It’s simple. burglaries are down because more people are home because of the virus. When we did covert surveillance on active burglars they were very cautious. They do a lot of walking and looking not only looking at their target location but to see if neighbors are watching. They don’t want any confrontation with the target unless they are the crazy home invaders. They know a lot more people have guns in their homes. As to thefts it would what kind. And we all know the magic of downgrading which is easy with burglary and theft.
Who the hell is the CCG Commander? We haven't had a Central Control Group in quite a while? Did I miss something while I was on furlough?
Maybe because they dont charge the other crimes in Crimeshas office ?
Sorry but take a look at the 19th District numbers. 019 is getting killed with car jackings, auto thefts, robberies with burglaries not far behind.

Theft is down because people aren’t wasting their time reporting property crimes that nobody, even if caught, will be punished for.

Went to the polls and filled out ballot with a black sharpie. It bleeds through and if it comes down to any manual voting, my ballot will be tossed. Not sure where the flip side of the ballot falls upon the fair tax resolution but using this pen might make a difference. More shifting politics in Illinois. Not all Burglaries or Thefts are reported, whereas almost all Murders and Assaults are reported. Some are even INVESTIGATED by the well trained, highly motivated, fully- resourced Detectives of this Fair City, this ( as the Motto says) City in a Garden. And, following investigation, some are even prosecuted by CCSA,Ms Foxxx!
Burglaries are DOWN because gun ownership ( FOID) is UP. Criminals prefer unarmed Victims

They lie! Crime is so bad now I have no expectation of safety when I go anywhere. I passed a Chicago PD as I was leaving the Mag Mile Apple store and said "Be safe". he said "you too". Neither one of us have any expectation of safety anymore. When we bought our newest computer we didn't go to Mag Mile store. How could we expect to walk out of there & make it home with it. I stopped carrying a purse over a year ago. I carry things in a jewel grocery bag when I meet clients instead of my regular bag and I'm a downtown realtor.I'm afraid to walk my pomeranians alone - they stole a girls fancy puppy in broad daylight in Ukranian village - guys girlfriend wanted it. stabbed its owner. We worked hard & built up another business downtown. We're making what we can & planning to leave because all civilized will be fleeing. Beetlejuice & Crimesha are too stupid to realize once we leave there will be no $ for them.
