Details on the Crimesha name-dropper:
A man who’s on parole for carjacking the Chicago Tribune’s overnight crime reporter accidentally shot himself in the leg with an illegal handgun during a police street stop on Wednesday afternoon, prosecutors said. He’s now being held without bail and will likely be heading back to prison.
Early on December 4, 2017, Noriyhea Evans was “celebrating” his 18th birthday with a friend when the duo walked up to a woman as she sat inside a car on the parking lot of a Dunkin’ Donuts in Bridgeport. The men knocked on the car window and ordered the woman out. Then, they sped away with her vehicle.
As it turned out, the woman, then 29-years-old, was the Chicago Tribune’s overnight crime reporter. She was sitting in a company car waiting for a story to break when the story came to her — via Evans and the other guy.
And the amusing part:
While speaking with investigators Wednesday night, Evans reportedly told cops that he is a member of Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s extended family. One source said he claimed to be her cousin, while another said he claimed that his mother is Foxx’s cousin.
Foxx’s spokesperson told CWBChicago that Foxx “has no idea who this person is or if they are related to her.”
Which would make him a second-cousin or something similar.
The Tribune has a story at this embedded link. Somehow, they make it through the entire incident without once mentioning the fact that his previous arrest for car-jacking the Tribune's own crime reporter nor the repeated claims of "Don't you know who I'm related to?"
Must have something to do with anything that reflects badly on a democrat is immediately hidden and stuffed down the memory-hole.
And only the CWB Blog manages to do any real reporting.

Of course Foxx knows who Evans is. She needed a spokesperson to shield her from the media. If she appeared before the media they might ask her about her relationship with Evans. The Democrats hide behind their press staffs rarely answering questions unless it’s a softball question like, “What’s your favorite ice cream flavor Speaker Pelosi?” And what kind of questions can you ask through a third person that has nothing to do with the allegation? The politicians have everyone buffaloed. They are supposed to be accountable, they are anything but. See, now you even forgot what the story was about.

No such thing as a reporter anymore. Scumbag broad moves here from the East coast to teach journalism. Gets a job at a major university downtown as some kind of teacher. Joins Next-door and makes strange comments. Later she changes her name on Next door and begins to chastise all the people of Chicago for calling the cops on an installer who can't find an address and drives around the block a lot. Proclaims that everyone here is racist. Month later she makes wild accusations against a "white man" (in the headline) for making comments about her ass on the bike trail. So she's a reporter, right? No photo, no other description, no police report, no witnesses, nothing except her previous proclamation that we are racist and she's coming for us. Another neighborhood goof chimes in and shoots her theory down in 2 minutes, so she soils her drawers and quits the blog. These people are here to hurt you and get you fired. That's it. You shouldn't be talking to them or assisting them in any way. The whole journalism community is being polluted by these thugs. If you think policing is a thing of the past, look at journalism some time. while the standards keep going up for police, journalism will take the bottom of the barrel. Journalists and policemen are evaporating at the same rate, and if they disappear, they will disappear together. People who want to be a journalist ignore the fact that a career in that field is like playing musical chairs every day, and they only way to get that chair is to blindly follow the editors agenda and say whatever they want to hear in a city where no one wants to hear it. Almost like Russia. Even the investigative reporters, the traditionally solid, tough unflappable defenders of the people are caged by the editors with their scope reduced to petty and unimportant trifles. CWB should get the recognition it deserves, as they are the only honest, old school hard nosed defenders of the realm left. When they fall, you'll know it's truly over.

And today, the Tribune runs a story about budget cuts at the County jail, leading off with a boo hoo hoo story about an inmate that died there from the corona virus. It goes on and on about his wife going to the jail to protest, but not once in this lengthy article does it mention what this guy was awaiting trial for. If you're gonna bitch slap Dart for something, why not be fair about it and say what the guy was in for and maybe some attribution as to why he wasn't let go to do whatever the fuck it was that landed him in the County jail in the first place.

So after watching I did a little searching because Savini is a WHORE for the civil attorneys and constantly does hit pieces as favors to the civil attornies so their case can get some attention and either persuade a future jury or pressure the city to settle quickly to take the spotlight off or hope that the city then CHANGES policy as a knee jerk reaction to the news story, then the civil attorney can say the city changed it police admitting it was wrong. Either way wouldn’t you know it, Marcus Smith and his mother filed a federal lawsuit in November of 2019 regarding this very incident that Savini is reporting on. So I then look and find out who the civil attorney is and it’s a lawyer named Deidre Baumann. I do some digging on Deidre and she is a civil attorney who commonly sues police departments. Then I do the normal digging and find her Facebook page which is public. Her friends are public also. Who is one of Deidre Baumann‘s Facebook friends??? That’s right, Dave Savini. So obviously this civil attorney reached out to Savini and asked him to do a piece on her case.. I’m sure as a “favor”. My question is, I’d Savini getting back room cash deals from these civil attorneys to report their case and possibly sway a settlement or taint a potential future jury pool?? He’s done it time and time Again all related to lawsuits. What’s interesting here is never a mention of a lawsuit or interview with the lawyer, as if they didn’t want that to get out so there is a connection. If there is a settlement is Savini getting a silent cut from the lawyers?? You bet your ass he is. He’s in the pocket of the civil lawyers snd the lawyers are using him as a tool to strengthen their case and force the cities hand with a quick payout.

A career as a " journalist" is a dead end job that pays little. More of an ego thing now that actually doing anything productive. Say nothing to any reporter, give them no special treatment, stay away from them. They do not like you. Same goes for most teachers.

Couldn’t agree more about “journalism.” I’ve been very leery buying into neighborhood “news.” People get on neighborhood blogs and report their take on stuff as news. Sorry, even this blog always has to be looked at as that...a blog, opinion. It can be a source but facts need to be checked. I do think we, police, do have an advantage for actual legitimate news because we are on the inside of it. Nonetheless, I’ve seen a few lives ruined the past few years, not celebrities or politicians, but regular working people because of alleged “news, Facebook posts, viral videos etc. I have a friend who had a “newsworthy” event happen to them. It cost them their job though no criminal case was ever found. As they have spent the better part of a year trying to clear all google links to their name, their 12 year old child out of curiosity googled her own name and found the story about their parent linked to the child’s name. Can anyone say, “LAWSUIT.” Again, I think most of you are fools for participating in Facebook, Twitter, Tik Tok etc. These companies truly own the ordinary man. They are the biggest source of disinformation in addition to MSM. Each time you participate, you make them a little richer. You don’t think Social Media and Amazon benefit from lockdowns and people’s isolation? I hate every single one of them. I was suspect of them when it became a thing, participated & get off 5 years ago. This is the only social media thing I read and I take breaks often when a sense of desperation seeps into my soul.

Agreed, I had to take a call one day at the Area, long story short it was really a civil dispute and/or a job for financial crimes about a rental from Airbnb( she had called me at HGS). I tried to tell the woman that this was not correct office & that first she needed to make a police report (she had not done that). She didn’t want a police report, what she wanted was for us “the police” to give the guy who ripped her off a “talking to”, put a little pressure on him. I related that’s not how it works: make a report, it gets assigned, we talk to all involved etc. This is the same type of person that wants you to kick down doors because they know the person that stole their stuff lives there. Yet, it’s also the same person who thinks the police should have less & less tools to do their jobs. I was not blowing her off, was trying to give her the appropriate contacts, she was staying in Hyde Park. She kept talking over me & then condescendingly says, “I know that. I’m a reporter.” I wanted to say so badly, “If you’re so smart why did you give out your credit card info to someone you didn’t know?” But I didn’t. She knew everything. I was a lowly detective.
