MYOB Brownie

From Brownie's e-mail:

  • Consistent with the Mayor’s advisory, Department members and their families should limit traveling outside of the home to going to work or for essential needs. Wear masks and practice social distancing when you must leave your home. Do not have gatherings in your home with anybody from outside your household and avoid all non-essential out-of-state travel. If travel is essential, then follow the city’s travel advisory regarding testing and quarantining

This isn't Red China yet chump. Maybe pass an actual law that is Constitutionally sound first?

In the meantime, how about you advise deez nuts? Hard to believe this mope came from Texas.

So Lightfoot is imposing the 10 person limit on Thanksgiving gatherings but Governor Ralph Northam (Virginia-Democrat) says you can have up to 25 people. Why aren't the Dems on the same page. Remember Northam, he is also a physician and appeared in blackface for the college. He also supports abortion even up to the birth of the baby (infanticide). He said if the baby is born during a late term abortion and the mother doesn't want it just put the baby aside and let it die with no care. Biden/Harris support the right to choose and Planed Parenthood which is a fancy name for the abortion industry.

In Florida I live in a age restricted mobile home park. Some residents are snowbirds with summer homes up north, Chicago, New York, Ohio, Michigan etc. and are upset that the governor of Florida has opened the state. If you remind them that they are free to return to their closed state up north they say they are here to get away from snow and cold winter weather. So they want it every which way!!!

Come to Florida to escape winters, but want our conservative governor to act like their liberal governors and close the states and set restrictions just for them.

I say send them all back to where they came from and let the rest of us who appreciate our conservative state being open and free live without the complaints.

Here is your answer. I have brought this to the attention of the Lodge in the past with no final answer.

If you want to hit the medical in your above situation, cite this law that was passed by the State of Illinois

What is the Employee Sick Leave Act?

The Employee Sick Leave Act (Public Act 99-0841) (the “Act”) is a State law requiring employers to allow employees to use at least a portion of the sick leave time that is already available to them, under certain existing employer policies, to care for certain relatives. The Act requires employers to allow employees to use such time “for absences due to an illness, injury, or medical appointment of the employee’s child, spouse, [domestic partner], sibling, parent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchild, grandparent, or stepparent, for reasonable periods of time as the employee’s attendance may be necessary, on the same terms upon which the employee is able to use sick leave benefits for the employee’s own illness or injury.”

What type of sick leave benefits does the Act require employers to allow employees to use to care for a relative?

The Act defines “personal sick leave benefits” as “time accrued and available to an employee to be used as a result of absence from work due to personal illness, injury, or medical appointment,” but specifies that that term “does not include absences from work for which compensation is provided through an employer’s plan.”

How much personal sick leave time may an employee use to care for a relative?

An employer may limit the use of sick time to care for a relative as described in the Act “to an amount not less than the personal sick leave that would be accrued during 6 months at the employee’s then current rate of entitlement.” Employers may allow more than that amount of time if they so choose.

Does the Act require an employer that does not otherwise provide personal sick leave benefits to employees (and is not required by law to do so) required to provide any new benefits as a result of the Act?

No. The Act only requires employers to allow employees to use personal sick leave benefits that the employees otherwise would have to care for a relative as described in the Act.

Does an employer who has a paid time off policy that allows employees to use paid leave time to care for relatives need to modify that policy as a result of the Act?

No—as long as the policy provides at least as much time to care for a sick relative as the Act requires, and allows employees to use that time to care for any of the family members specified in the Act.

Can an employer retaliate against an employee for taking leave to care for a relative?

No. The law prohibits retaliation against an employee who uses personal sick leave benefits to care for a relative as described above. Furthermore, an employer may not discriminate against an employee for filing a complaint alleging a violation of the Act with the Department of Labor.

How can an employee file a complaint alleging a violation of the Act?

An employee who believes his or her employer has violated the Act by not allowing him or her to use personal sick leave benefits in the manner described in the Act may file a complaint with the Department of Labor. Click here for a complaint form.

Has the Department of Labor issued any administrative rules relating to the Employee Sick Leave Act?

No, the Department has not issued any administrative rules, and currently does not plan to do so.

When does the Act take effect?

The Act takes effect on January 1, 2017.

Listen up Brown and Lightfoot and Pritzker. With all the positive cases, the current fatality rate is 1.8% in Illinois. The survival rate is over 97%. You bozos have already failed because with all the lockdowns, restrictions and mandatory mask wearing we are still seeing large increases in cases. Although the death rate is still low. That's what really matters. For at least Lightfoot and Brown, maybe you need to figure out better mitigation and response so the sickness rate among CPD is better controlled, because you a are failing right now.

This is for the person asking if we can get carried to take care of your family if tested positive...it’s called EAP and if you’re having a crisis and it’s affecting your ability to work and are stressed out and contemplating quitting, then yes they will carry you code something and you will be off no questions asked. That’s what it’s there for and they’ve been shoving it down our throats everyday on the dept intranet. It’s there for times like these ladies and gentlemen. Your family first, CPD second.

Planned Parenthood has an interesting history. It was started by a white female racist and her goal was to abort as many black babies as possible to control the black population. Funny, how that organization is now the darling of the democratic left and narry a word is said about the founder and her policies. And, if you look at the abortion numbers black females are at the top. There actually is university research conducted about 15 years ago that stated tha crime rate was held down because of the large number of black abortions

The medical is not free time off. The medical is to be used when YOU are injured or ill. You can't hit the medical because you've been exposed, only if you overtly have multiple symptoms, or of course if you test positive. If you need to stay home to care for family, you will need to apply for FMLA time. You have to file for it with Human Resources and have it approved, so it's not like you can just call in FMLA. If you hit the medical, a supervisor will be sent to do a medical check at the house so make sure you're home and look sick when they come. Medical roll abuse starts at a minimum of suspension time.

$100/hr at 40 hr/week is only $4000 per week or a little over $200,000 a year. It sounds like a lot, and it is a good paycheck, but these days for an executive running a 15,000 person entity is not all that much.

Of all the statistics that are collected, analyzed, parsed, diced, chopped, minced, etc., the ones you want to pay attention to are hospitalizations, available ICU beds, ventilators, - the ones that indicate usage of available resources. You want to avoid a situation similar to the Dakotas where they're trying to air-transport their patients to Wyoming because there used to be available beds, but no longer. Similar situations are in play across the country. The details of the illness are one thing, but it's the details of available appropriate care that determine the outcomes. I'm retired now but I spent 10yrs in healthcare administration.

Rules for thee, but not for me. They are only making up these rules to see how far they can go before people stop complying.
To all you sheep on the department that still believe this scamdemic is real, YOU are part of the problem. You are the ones keeping this bullshit alive. You might as well have voted for sleepy Joe and agreed to his 4-6 week national lockdown that in reality won't ever end. We were supposed to shut down for 2 weeks. It's been 8 months! What did all of you do in years past when you got the flu(coronavirus)? You suffered through it, got better and didn't blame anyone or sanitary conditions at work for it.
I've been to a few trainings at the academy and olive-harvey since this scamdemic started and had no health problems. I'm not some picture of health either by the way. The training sucks and is completely worthless, but don't use "the pandemic" as an excuse for them to cancel training if you don't believe it's real. You're only making the chances of things going back to normal that much harder because the city thinks we're really afraid of getting sick. Have the shitheads been worried about getting sick during the riots, looting, Mexican independence or Biden unofficially being elected? If you're genuinely afraid of this crap, it is your right to stay home and avoid contact with other people, but don't force your bullshit fears on me. Enough is enough, I want my freedom back!

The last Republican mayor left office in 1931, so...89 years.

Remember this about Brown - he’s was out of work for four years after leaving Dallas. He tried to be a SME for ABC news, and he quickly failed at that.

Now, “Do you have to use fmla to get time off unpaid.” Yes. But, you are entitled to use any accrued time - CE, furlough - to avoid going into unpaid status.

Some random observations.....

I see that right after telling Chicagoans to cancel their plans for a family Thanksgiving, she and her family hopped a plane on Friday and scooted out of town. Some animals are more equal than others, I guess...

This latest COVID “surge” is coming at exactly the same time as “cold and flu season” - a time of year when, for a variety of reasons, respiratory illnesses become much more prevalent. Is it possible that this has NOTHING to do with whether of not people are wearing their face burkas (masks), social distancing, etc...? And, is it thus more than likely that locking down the citizens (and non-citizen “sanctuary seekers”) of Chicago will have little or no impact, beyond further crushing the economy and making people more miserable?

Our Democrat leaders, having had the power to control nearly all aspects of our lives thrust into their hands by a fearful and prostrate citizenry, seem to enjoy arbitrarily restricting our liberties in the name of “public health”. How likely are they to give up this power when COVID-19 finally fades away? Or will they find some reason to extend the “state of emergency” indefinitely, as is done in many other totalitarian regimes?

Some things to chew on while you’re waiting for the turkey to cook...

“ahhhh now we know Larry buys her clothes off the rack at Smokey Joes or was it at Gables ""on the corner not in the middle of the block"" down in the old Maxwell Street area and she and her play wife bought them in wholesale lots years ago so they never go out of style..now the wifeys wardrobe is another story entirely” @11/15/2020 10:35:00 AM

– I think Smoky Joe’s once had a place on Milwaukee Ave near Ashland in the early 70’s. The Boys Dept selection wasn’t as extensive and the Bigg n’Tall. Besides, cheapskate Larri got her outfits at Gary Coleman’s estate sale years ago, his old clothes certainly gave her that confidence boost and ability to spout off.

I'm getting tired of all this bullshit from the "mayor" and "Governor". If they aren't going to follow the rules, then don't tell me shit because I am NOT listening. My furlough is almost over and I was in Wisconsin for a week, Iowa for a couple days and went to Indiana for a nice dinner. Fuck this city. Fuck the masks as they don't do shit either. I wish these people would get a clue and actually listen to the science instead of making up their own "science".

What about Chalmers Big and Tall Mens Shop, it's a seven outlet chain in the Pacific Northwest, great stuff. Del Griffith shops there.
