Copper Injured
- Chicago police said an officer is in fair condition after being dragged along by a driver attempting to leave a traffic stop downtown Monday evening. According to the Chicago Police Department, officers pulled a car over on the 700 block of N. State Street for a registration violation around 4 p.m. Monday.
After officers asked the 28-year-old female driver to exit the vehicle, police say she attempted to drive away, dragging an officer who was near the passenger side of the vehicle in the process. Police said the vehicle stopped after a “short distance” and the officer who was dragged was taken to the hospital in fair condition for a knee injury. The driver was arrested.
Speedy recovery Officer.

This bullshit is happening way too often. These asshole drivers need to be ventilated before a cop is killed.
Godspeed the officers recovery.
Will Crimesha properly charge this person with attempted murder? Yeah, I don’t think so either.
FU Crimesha, FULL & FUFATASS.
...and because the offender is female not a damn sliver of repercussions or consequences.
Not because of Crimesha Foxx.
But because it’s a female.
When are females ever held accountable for anything?
I'm sure the driver was an upstanding member of society, not someone we would have implicit bias about. Because that would be wrong, statistics about criminal behavior are wrong. What the hell is wrong with this fucking country? When did common sense and decency become evil. The Chinese need to release another virus that attacks the liberal left, and leaves them with half a brain so they can at least have half a brain.
I wonder if that’s why they taught us in the academy I went through 41 years ago, ask the driver to turn off their ignition and remove the key.
Every year, a few officers lose their life for this. 41 years later, I still ask if it’s worth it to attempt to get assholes to abide by the law.
Don’t put yourself in the position to get drug down the street.
Did he get that blue card though?
And with that note, go out and get them blue cards for the bosses. Yup you heard it right, the bosses are asking for blue cards again.
Hey, go out and do traffic stops. See what can happen!
How many warrants does she have it’s pretty simple don’t break the law and then the po po won’t pull your dumb asses over
Icky girls do not drive well.
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
"Obey the law!"

This is becoming much too common because the criminals get away with it we have no law here, the corruption is at the highest levels praying the officer gets well quickly enjoy your time off officer to heal completely. Please stop doing the car stops getting close to the animals in the vehicles thank you. Don’t give them the opportunity to Mame or possibly kill one of us.
I'll say this again and again, don't foot chase, don't car chase, don't stop ANYONE(racial profiling).Just answer the radio and go to your call. Stay safe and God bless.
who the fuck is still doing traffic stops? Must have been on a traffic mission bullshit
your gonna see more of this as Kim the Cabrni Flash will let the the folks go and if you bring your family downtown or to millennium park your nuts and deserve whatever happens to you and yours
Will the last person to leave downtown please shoot out the streetlights?
Why are you still making traffic stops??
Why even bother stopping anyone? Fuck that !!!!
I was standing at that Huron crosswalk 10' away watching one officer talking to the car inhabitant(s) through the opened passenger door. I gasped as soon as the car lurched forward, fearing what would happen.
Perhaps you pros can tell me why the other PO who was standing/talking to the driver at the (closed) driver's door chose to pursue the fleeing car on foot.
I'm not second-guessing, it's just that I, untrained and inexperienced, would have ran back to my patrol car immediately behind.
Maybe the officer on foot realized the car with an open door couldn't maneuver quickly through traffic?
PS: l caught up with all of them minutes later at Ohio. (To leave my name.)
Inform yourselves. Look at Lightfoot’s past rulings while she was on the police board. In these circumstances, she stated the officers created the Exigent circumstances. Therefore you’re at fault. De-escalate, time and distance. The orders are set up to punish proactive police work. Keep your job and stay out of prison. Simple as that. They won’t teach this at the academy. It falls on us to teach the new guys.
Did he get that blue card though?

Hilarious! Unfortunately, my 3 year wonder of a partner didn't get the humor. He, like others I'm sure, is scared shitless about these blue cards. Thankfully the copper was ok.
Didn't we talk about this a few weeks ago?
DON'T put your hands or arms inside a running motor vehicle, unless you want to get hurt.
( This is NOT to criticize PO injured) Mindful of the NO CHASE Policy, if PO is dragged by a vehicle, is thus considered a Chase, within the meaning of current Policy? If PO dragged by vehicle is this statistically categorized as a Foot Chase, a Vehicle Chase, or some kind of Hybrid/ “ Category Fluid/ Category Non Conforming(!)” Chase?

They drank the koolaid. They were told they can go home early if they came in with some blue cards.

Yes! This action will always get you hurt or killed. Do not reach into the car if the car is running. I know adrenaline kicks in but dont do it.
