- Chicago’s Cardinal Blase Cupich is now vaccinated against COVID-19.
Cameras were there when he got his shot just Wednesday morning. The cardinal said he was surprised at how it felt. Cardinal Cupich said it wasn’t painful at all.
In fact he said it felt just like any other shot he’d ever gotten.
Cardinal Cupich and other members of the Catholic clergy got their vaccinations at Saint Anthony Hospital in Chicago’s North Lawndale neighborhood.
Anyone remember the last time there was a regular full house Mass in Chicago? Perhaps a wedding or a funeral? So one could make the argument that priests - and especially the cardinal - aren't really in any danger of being exposed or doing the exposing of COVID-19.
Wouldn't "men of God" better serve and fulfill their earthly mission to perhaps sacrifice their place in line for one less fortunate? A nurse or doctor? A paramedic or cop? A parent or an elderly grandparent? Someone actually in danger?
Wouldn't that be the better example instead of being used as political pawns?

I have learned to absolutely loathe the Catholic Church over the years. They are just another money grabbing entity like the government. There are other religions who are not any better.

I do not like to criticize those who sacrifice their entire life for the church but the Cardinal really upsets me when he supports the sanctuary state/city nonsense that allows as many illegal aliens to come as they desire. We have laws on the books to regulate immigration. It is not the church’s right to criticize those that support these laws. The City, State and even the country are bankrupt! We are not the richest country in the world - we are the leading debtors in the world. Allowing tens of millions of illegals to come and live off of other taxpayers through DemoRat handouts is plane wrong. DemoRats are not benevolent - they are just buying votes from illegal aliens in return putting more taxes and debt on hard working people. This is wrong and the church should NOT embrace it. Nor should the church support DemoRats is any way, shape or form. My opinion is that DemoRats want to destroy the church. Most of their their policies are against church policy so why would you support these pigs?????? The media, who love the DemoRats, constantly circulate the same abuse stories over and over and over again just to diminish the church and its standing in society. Same regurgitated stories on the same handful of abusers, brought up again and again. So why would you support the media and their stoogies ... the DemoRats? Can’t you see all the evil that they stand for? Teach people pray and live a faithful life.

I am a practicing Catholic. I would point out the difference between the Catholic faith and the institutional Church of which Cardinal Cupich is a member. I have never met Cardinal Cupich, but if I were to, I would tell him that I pray for him every day, that one day he would stop being a politician, and begin being the priest he is supposed to be.
There are many faithful Catholics out here that see the difference between the true Faith and certain members of the hierarchy that are not faithful. We give no money to any organization at the level of the diocese or the parish. We only give to those organizations that are truly Catholic, and serve the faithful and the poor.
A good friend of mine commented on certain clergy, including bishops and cardinals. In his mind these people act the way they do because they do not have an authentic prayer life. He may have something there. I don’t know if Cupich believes the rot the comes out of his mouth, or is just cynical, and I don’t know which would be worse.

As someone who was raised Catholic, I can admit that the Catholic Church worldwide has been on the wrong side of political issues for hundreds of years. The top rung of the clergy in Chicago have been part of the political mob for a hundred years.
Cupich has done more to have catholics leave the church than to bring them in. If must be nice living separate from your flock in a 5 million dollar mansion. The pope said that you should allow more vulernal people to get the shot before but like a coward cupich gets in line. I’m all for letting these people go first. Sorry to hear about your family struggles. My experience as an alter boy for over 10 years was very positive and the happiest days of my life. I met many many priests and nuns who truly reflected God’s teachings. They were the most pius saintly people I have ever met. Our priest use to ask us serve during funerals and other services. We would go to the family dinners afterwards with our Monsignor. I always was proud that I could help those families in a small way during their times of need. 99% of priests are very good men who gave their entire lives to the service of others for pennies. Our Monsignor was compensated with $8,500 a year. There is Hell and some of those priests who will rot in it. But most of them are very good people. I’d take the Catholic Church over any other crap society is offering including Communism.
Phleger sickens me. I have written letters about him to Cupich, which have gone unanswered. I am no Cupich fan. This has caused me to to longer contribute to archdiocesan money pleas.

Maybe the intellectually challenged are unaware that most of the contributions that go into the parish collection basket are earmarked for the parish school, an alternative to the public school system which is so anti police and racist these days. Looks like another WOKE journalist was allowed to drop a blog here. I’ll take the Catholic Church, it’s traditions of supporting capitalism and innovation (all life quality inventions came out of Christian Europe or Christian America through work from almost all Christians and our fellow Jews). You can keep your atheist ways ... check out China someday ... it’s the #1 atheist country in the world. You’d love how they treat their fellow man. Are some Christians/Catholics assholes? Yes, I’d agree with that but most of them are good people trying to make the world better for others.
Most priests are saints ... their jobs are very hard (like police work), where they are guiding people during the most difficult times of their lives (death of close loved ones, drug addiction, loss of jobs, pain/sorrow, sickness, adultery, imprisonment, among others). Priests are very educated (8 years in college - finishing generally at age 26) and they devote their entire lives to their parish for meager salaries (less than minimum wage depending on how many parishes and parishioners they serve). All without the love of a spouse or children. The heterosexual priests are not the abusers. Many are faithful and do good and mentally exhausting work for people at their most weak and dispaired times.
With that being said, two last points ... the Catholic and Orthodox churches are the only two churches that can properly take credit for the Bible (not some new wave minister ... where did his church get its Bible from when their church did not exist 100 years ago)? Yes .. the Catholics so don’t knock ‘em.
Second, the Cardinal needs to grow up and rip the DemoRats a new asshole. Everything they support is anti-Catholic and anti-Christian teaching.
