Prosecutors have filed felony charges against two men who allegedly carried guns during a brawl that stretched between a pair of Mag Mile department stores on Friday afternoon.
The charges come as 18th District cops seize an average of one gun per day on or near the landmark retail strip during December — including three firearms recovered on Sunday afternoon.
Around 2:20 p.m. Friday, police responded to multiple calls of two large groups brawling on the fourth floor of Neiman Marcus, 737 North Michigan. Some of the 911 callers reported seeing a handgun displayed, and people yelling, “he has a gun.”
Before police arrived, one of the groups ran out of the store and entered Saks Fifth Avenue across the street.
Cops arrested two men inside Saks for allegedly possessing illegal firearms. And one of the men is also charged with identity theft for allegedly carrying Illinois unemployment debit cards and bank debit cards bearing other people’s names.

Skokie and Oak Park are chocked full of Section 8 right now. Skokie has their own goof squad at the mall and their own cluster off of Gross Point Road. Plenty of problems too.

Naw, possession of lost or mislaid property. Dude was in his way to return said items he found to the owners or the poleece station so they could return it when he was interrupted by rival dude and gun fire was exchanged

When people don’t get punished for crime this is what you get. I’m wonder what the media’s reaction will be when a tourist gets murdered on the Mag Mile. Will the media start to dig deep and see what some of these crimes are and how many people arrested are already on bond , probation or parole ? Kim Foxx continues to release violent criminals everyday in the name of social justice. It’s just a matter of time that the Mag Mile has a national news event with one of these individuals that should be in custody but is not.

We old ladies once were safe enough while we strolled Mag Mile and shopped the various stores. No more. Don't see any nicely-dressed white-haired ladies shopping here along the newly-established "Combat Zone"; we're all hiding-out in our Streeterville and Gold Coast condos, shopping on-line, waiting for the delivery guy to bring the essential goods.

Our SJW politicians should realize they've created a perfect storm situation, one that absolutely endorses incivility and criminality, to create dangerous social dynamics that directly impact the tax-base that elects and funds these SJW's existence. We're facing a spiral to "lowest common denominator", meaning mob rule, no grades for students, no consequences for crimes committed, and a constant chatter that "white privilege" created this combat zone.

I got an IDES card in the mail in July- even though I had not applied and was not unemployed. After repeated attempts to call IDES, I gave up and called my state rep. The lady there said it was a huge problem statewide-thousands were scammed. She gave me a direct number to call and report it- said I would be charged for thousands of dollars if I had not reported it. IDES took my info and said someone had my DOB, SSN, etc and had filed under my name. I never heard back. That was five months ago and I hear this scam is still going on. I have not heard of any arrests. Is IDES doing anything about this?

Any chance of US Attorney bringing Federal charges pursuant to Gun Control Act of 1968 ( 18 USC 922 et seq) as Felon in Possession of a Firearm? This assumes ( probably correctly) that the Member of the Communerty arrested for Possession also has a previous Felony Conviction— Federal or State or Tribal Nation.
My experience is that, before “ getting their lives together” and becoming a “ role model” and being a “ good boy who ain’t done nothing” , many Members of the Communerty have at least one Felony Conviction.

Bought my first hand gun the other day and it was a weird feeling. Waiting 4 months to get my FOID card and from what the gun shop owner said Biden is not going to take away our guns but rather tax the hell out of us to buy a gun. He equates it to how cigarettes are taxed in Illinois. He also said you will be soon limited to one gun per month.
If you are a first time gun owner, I suggested before purchasing a handgun, go to the range (Oak Forest) and you can try our several different handguns to see what you like and can handle. If your kids are old enough, teach them about gun safety and how to shoot a gun.
Guns will be a valuable currency soon and the shelves are getting bare and bullets are getting hard to come by. The minute ammunition comes in to the stores in the morning (9mm for me) they are gone in a minute of hours. Check the stores early in the morning and you might be lucky to get ammunition.
Hope to never use them but with "mob rules" signal from the Supreme Court, we have no other choice. As long as there is fear of guns, the Communists cannot take over our cities without a fight.

These thugs are destroying the city and some of the suburb shopping area. But, it must be their objections to white privilege and systemic racism. Because of their objections they refuse to finish school or to look for a legitimate job or just to get off of their dead ass on the neighborhood porch to be a productive member of society. Just have more babies with girls that they have no intention of marrying or supporting and making gang banging youtube videos
This stuff used to happen in street/alley, now they come to Loop to do it inside high-end stores.
Research will turn up a new concept, "taking up space," especially "taking up luxury space." Not just city, but the outdoors - woods and so forth - are now considered to be "inherently racist."

Of course, the usual suspects will call it "racist", no matter that the fee applies to all races.
I just bought my grandsons their very own Golden Boy youth rifle. I’m going to buy an adult one after Christmas. That way when my month old grandson is ready to learn, his seven year old brother will be ready for the adult one. I’m starting to see a little ammo showing up in the market place..

And maybe add a safe passage area/people so you can get back to your car with your stuff. Might be a good idea for 2021 and should be presented to those owners of stores on Michigan avenue before they leave.
