Groot Taking Fire
The media has fully turned on the Groot, with both the Slum Times and Tribune editorial boards taking shots at her. Here's the Tribune:
Lightfoot and police Superintendent David Brown say they are changing search warrant policies, allowing more access to cases for crime victims, and disciplining officers involved in the raid by assigning them to desk duty. Lightfoot on Tuesday assigned an outside investigator to look into the case. The city’s top lawyer, Mark Flessner, resigned over the weekend. Lightfoot is demanding answers from the Civilian Office of Police Accountability, which was supposed to be investigating police conduct from that night. She has apologized and is seeking a meeting with Young. She called the entire incident “a colossal failure.”
But Chicago — the nation — is tired of apologies from politicians when things go wrong and only because they got caught. Tough talk from behind a podium is pretty meaningless when it comes two years too late, driven by CYA (look it up) and not from a standing of good moral judgment. These lectures from Lightfoot are tiresome when she and her legal team should have been decidedly proactive and transparent months ago. A year ago. More than that.

I heard they are going to have commanders now go to all search warrants to supervise. I love the idea. These commanders are the ones constantly pushing for search warrants, now they get to go along and reap the rewards or baggage from all their demands. Let’s see if they still push them as hard now that they’ll be personally responsible.

Everyone is sick of Lightfoot’s lies. She always has a story after she gets caught. She’s just not a very nice person.

Pretty bold. Her home was not the intended target, regardless of whether her address was on the warrant or not.
She was ass naked and it is all caught on cam and now for the world to see.
She’s supposed to be a social worker, you don’t think that would create an awkward moment between her and the people she deals with...
If it were me I’d probably change professions not to mention the embarrassment and now millions of people know what happened.
It was a mistake this I agree on but her rights were violated. Some mistakes are costly ones.
If it happened to me I’d be looking for a payout as I’m sure you and or your wife or husband would.
Sometimes mistakes happen on this job even when we double check and triple verify.
Shit happens. She deserves to be paid by the city.
The officers shouldn’t be at fault either for following what the paperwork stated from an informant, who was paid. There is only so much an officer or hell even a department can verify to be correct.

- and who knows what the IG and Law Dept had hidden since Juicy Swollette & Jugghead slumping.
I don’t think Prickwrinkle will try again in Chicago, her dismal showing won’t improve (tell that to Fioretti too). She’s been dumping Covid’s relief money into the south suburbs for rent and mortgage payments. That’s her solid base.

I tell the undercover officers that no one is home and I am by myself (minor). They ask if they can come in and check and I said No, but my parents will be home shortly. They proceed to force their way in and slam me into the mudroom wall to search the house. Was I traumatized? No, more pissed than traumatized, but had I been naked- different story! Pay the lady, she deserves every penny!!

Anger and trauma are two different things dummie. Trauma is when you can't sleep at night, get anxious, can't go outside, etc.
You think COPA called her the day after? Doubt it. Probably took weeks or months. And she didn't answer because she could not care less at that point. Only began caring when she came to fully understand the $ involved, as explained by her lawyer.
And I never said the cops were not at fault. I, personally, would not to a warrant anymore. I did one drug search warrant way back when by my own initiative. I would not so it now.
And your comparing a tact team forcing their way in on a lone minor for a nonsense CB# with a search warrant. Nice try.
