Don’t let up now, officer. Insist a CR be initiated against Vanna. I guarantee someone gets assigned to do it now that it’s made the blog. I also guarantee that no one even entertains the thought of fucking with you now. In any event, be sure to thoroughly document any and all interactions with supervision moving forward.

The officer that he counseled seems like he is off to a good start by documenting everything. Keep in mind officer that this is most likely coming from the Commander, and the Lt. is just his scared bitch puppet. This Lt. can get transferred, or bid out, but the Commander could still be in charge holding a grudge. A year from now some new Lt. or Captain can start fucking with you all over again at the behest of the Commander for your activity....or lack thereof. You keep good enough records then it will show a pattern of harrassment.
Try to hit them with an EEOC complaint. The government will close it, but the department still has to open a C.R. and have BIA investigate. Not all of us are retired or dead, I was a young patrol officer at the rime I believe you’re speaking of. If we’re talking about the save incident, the LT was K.S., abd he was dating a sergeant on the watch K.H. who basically ran the watch as she pleased. If I recall Deputy J.M. Was the one they came and apologized for letting things get out of hand. That incident feels like ages ago.

The above commentator nailed it. The lieutenant is allowed to do everything that he is alleged to claim he was going to do. Supervisors are allowed to manage your workday. They do not have to implement (or implicate) quotas. If your event history shows that your were available and idle for 4 hours (and stationary--the hole), then the supervisors have plenty of power to correct that and put you to work. The people who brag about hiding in the hole are going to ruin it for everyone.
As far as this specific incident, the best that you are going to get out of this is probably someone advising the lieutenant to be more professional and congenial about it and not frame the situation as a quota incident. So, the lieutenant will continue to do what he is doing but in a more professional and pleasant manner. You will get kicked off your car with a smile and friendly attitude. And there will be nothing that you will be able to do about it.

I'm that rare breed of dog copper. Most dogs hit a hole, dog jobs until a pissed off sgt tells them to clear, and act like lazy jagoffs with the citizens. Most of these dogs on the other hand would make sure to bring in their required VRI activity so they could line their pockets back when it was available.
I on the other hand, handled as many jobs as I could during a tour. Cleared as soon as I was done, (except for taking a job to lunch) and always acted professional and courteous so my c.r.s were nonexistent. I still act like half a company man because I can sleep well at night knowing that I did everything in my power not to bring in any blue cards, movers, parkers, ANOVs etc. I even told one miserable fuck I got stuck working with that he could wait until he worked with some other bust out copper when he needed vri activity. He talked a good game about how much he hated the brass but I pointed out to him that he was still bringing in the masters their numbers. What could he say? Nothing.
The best part was when my Lt. called me in to give me a fatherly counseling about my numbers. I told him to pull up all the dispatched radio jobs because he would find that I led the watch in that field which is the only thing I am required in writing to do. He just stared like a mongoloid because no one keeps track of the important stuff.
Then I got the old, "It's always been expected since I got on the job to write movers." "Okay boss," I said. "When I got on the job is was expected that we didnt have to wear body cams or deal with in car cameras." Then I left his office and at check off told the Sgt I was depressed and life was getting me down. Hit the medical the next day for 12 days and oddly enough, wasn't bothered again.
You guys do what you want but this job has turned into an embarrassment filled with idiots. If you work in 016, park on a decent residential street. Hell, park near a buddy's house at least. You don't need a hole to hide in there. If you work in 015 or 011, by all means,find the most secluded hole you can find behind a factory or some shit.
Can't wait until my last year of retirement. That's when it's no more Mr. Nice Guy and I will learn as quick as I can how fast it takes to get stripped for motherfucking a Deputy, a Commander, a Lt, Captain Inspector, or whomever else decides to go out of their way to annoy me.

If he is successful then I guarantee to you he is doing his real estate business while at work. You can't be a successful Realtor without being available by email or phone call from 8 am thru 9 pm 7 days a week. Not possible. Even if the spouse helps out you have to all in. I'll bet he has his laptop out in his office or always on his cell phone.
I ran a business during my 20 years of CPD and I was doing double duty for 17 years of it taking calls at work, sending emails and doing loads of reports for my business all on CPD time. I went to all my calls. Worked a beat car and worked mostly 3rd watch and in 022 at the end.
And on that note you guys and gals who watch Netflix and play video games during downtime or are in a "do nothing unit" you are wasting time. Valuable time. If you're studying for a promotion then that's great but if not then do something.
Get a degree or start a business. It's not that hard. Nothing I did can't be duplicated by anyone else. I now earn over what the Superintendent earns and don't do much.
But do something productive with it and I don't mean traffic stops either.
I retired only as a PO but left at 20 years. Age 48 I was gone. Zero regrets. I know come here for the laughs.

FOP showed up at both morning roll calls today in 002 and said they are investigating allegations that LT V made racial slurs during roll call recently. He supposedly said “ if you see 4 black kids in a new car you should pull it over and get some activity” WTF!!!! This cat has to go asap!! Word is that he was promised a Captain spot and when he didn’t get it he took out his anger on the officers at the the daytime roll calls in the deuce. Does anyone see a pattern here ?!?! Bueller?!? Knowing the city this guy will be a commander soon enough.. 6 months to go and i’m gone to Tennessee..
This is absolutely appalling. It is almost like Trump's situation. You have everyone going after you, from the media, the DA, the mayor, Antifa, BLM, etc., The only thing you have going in your favor, just like Trump, are millions of people who support you.

Did you notice how many SCC stories have to do with merit hacks (test cheaters if we are being honest) and how it’s not only awful for morale , but how incapable and I knowledgeable these people are of actually doing their jobs. None has the slightest clue about the legality of a “quota”’ or how using their rank to demand something leads to all sorts of issues. When or when is somebody going to stop this!
Actually the complaint should have went to the CONSENT DECREE monitor.
Its called a code of silence if the officer doesnt report it.

Actually send the complaint to MULTIPLE units of the city; Inspector General.. Mayor's office of complaints.. IAD.. COPA.. also outside agencies.. make sure you c.c. everything so all these units know it's going everywhere that way it won't be blown off.

I have known Bob Vanna for over 20 years. He is a good guy and the problem with people/ officers today is that they can't be told to do anything. Get over your egos and sense of self importance. This is a generation of a bunch of crybaby assholes who's feelings get hurt over everything. Also there is no work ethics anymore and brothers in blue is no longer. You can't even say goodmorning anymore without getting a dirty look or no response at all. Bob Vanna has a ball busting personality and that is what people don't understand. And for anyone who says they would not take a merit promotion on this job is full of shit. It has been the Chicago way forever, so get over it. Stop with this nonsense of trying to destroy peoples careers with hatred. Remember we all have the same goals, to just get through are careers as police officers and to retire. Ugliness and hatred only will slow you down and make your job much harder to get through. Stay focused on the end goal.

I’ve known Bobbie for over 25 years and he has always been a backstabbing LITTLE punk. Anyone left from 009 can tell you all about him. Should of been disciplined for his actions at the biker bar and should have been in jail for his & his daddy’s tax return actions in ‘95. They got their $ and everyone else got audited, hmmm, snitch bitch. Then he went to be a trainer for CAPS and stole literally thousands of hours. He has/had close to 4K years ago. Nothing’s changed he is still a LITTLE punk bitch.
11:23 AM-Sounds very familiar to what went on before he was launched out of 019.He called Hispanic Officers "MY BROWN OFFICERS" and constantly belittled and made fun of a young Asian Officer who was a recruit stating to him "AREN'T YOUR PEOPLE GOOD AT MATH".He also made a boat load of inappropriate comments to Female Officers working the 1st Watch desk.He was definitely a pariah during his time on the 1st Watch in 019.And yes,all of the Officers that were the subjects of his abuse made the appropriate complaints against him.
the City, County, State and federal governments poured billions of tax dollars into that area and it's still a shit hole. Why? You give these mother fuckers everything and they have nothing to show for it.

Not seeing a problem with that unless there's pressure for activity or consequences for no activity. Assigning traffic missions and having any activity reported to the Lt is completely fine. Try to actually have a valid complaint when whining on the blog. "Hello Lt, this is Officer Smith on 1133. No activity on the traffic mission." Done.
