You kids need to learn to adapt. The game has always been civil lawsuits. Body cameras and work slowdowns have drastically cut down on lawsuits. Lawsuits use to be nothing but excessive force during arrest and the claim of putting dope or guns on an arrestee after a no PC or not guilty on gun and dope cases. Well, body cams are making those cases very hard for civil attorneys. So, over the past 6-8 years the new game is finding cases where there was no video. So they are all going hard on old cases like Jon burge type allegations or wrongful conviction crap. Those cases are very lucrative but aren’t enough to feed all the bottom feeders out there so they have to take other cases and the new big one is SEARCH WARRANTS. Reason? Lots of things to sue about. 9 times out of 10, even if it’s the right house with a target there they will sue for “pointing guns” at people who are not the target like other adults and children present. “Trashing” the house, unlawful search and seizure of non targets, not waiting and announcing long enough causing damage, busting in causing terror and ptsd to non targets and getting handcuffed etc etc. most, even legit ones are getting FOIA’d on a monthly basis. They are reaching out to the criminal attorneys assigned the defendants and huddling up with everyone there that day. All’s you need is one woman or child to say they had a gun pointed at them and the lawsuit is filed. They are waiting 1 or 2 years to file these now. You hit a wrong door and it’s an instant lawsuit. Don’t give these attorneys a dime. Don’t do warrants. Is it worth the 011 dope house? Narcotics and gang investigations should be the only ones doing them, and when they do them they should be bringing the feds with them. Judges in criminal court believe the feds and will give a guilty almost always if a fed is present for the arrest or testifies as they bring instant credibility to the case. As they should. Pointing guns at people who are not a threat to you is a crime and inappropriate, and totally unnecessary.
It is one thing to go in with guns out and pointed in a safe direction. It is something else to point them at children and other people who are uninvolved in whatever you are doing.
It used to be that you got a free pass for that kind of thing. The free pass is long gone. Video is making it tough to engage in this kind of bad behavior without negative consequences.
it's also pretty apparent from looking at the video of this particular situation that there was near instant recognition on the part of the police involved that they had screwed up beyond belief. Instead of just accepting that, they made it worse. And they should pay for that if nothing else. Once you know you have screwed up it's time to take the handcuffs off, apologize profusely for your stupidity, and move on.
In any case, handcuffing a naked woman who is obviously not part of your search warrant is just plain stupidity on the part of the people involved and ought to get them thrown off the force and into jail. Until there is negative consequences for this kind of thing, it will continue.

Pensions also won’t get any politician elected and/or removed from office in this city unlike a good scandal like this search warrant mess. Same for a city, the pension is a protected obligation.
Same for a business, payroll/insurance/pension and payroll taxes can not be included (personal knowledge)

Yeah, I mean, they did screw up every part of this one. Maybe sometimes having the city's taxpayers shelling out money for this kind of obvious negligence. Hey SCC, did you know that a certain Sergeant who is the Commanding Officer of the following: Civil Rights / Hate Crimes Unit, Special Activities Section, School Visitation Unit and is the face of the CPD at funerals ( CO of Honor Guard Unit) was arrested at Hammond Indiana Horseshoe Casino? Apparently under the influence she engaged a casino employee using racial slurs and then punched a Black Casino Security Guard? She was promptly arrested by the Hammond Police. Food for thought, did she take her Company Car with her? Hmmmmmmmm..... inquiring minds want to know.

The information the warrant was based off of was faulty. They hit the address on the warrant.
