For a former federal prosecutor, Groot certainly seems like a dumbass:
- Mayor Lori Lightfoot's Law Department attempted in court this week to block a local TV station from airing body camera footage of Chicago police officers raiding an innocent woman's home and handcuffing her while she was naked.
The city also filed a request to have the woman, Anjanette Young, sanctioned for allegedly violating a confidentiality order.
Officials for Lightfoot made the extraordinary request to prevent WBBM-TV from airing a news report in an emergency court filing Monday evening, which a federal judge rejected. The courts long have ruled against efforts to prevent news companies from publishing reports, saying it's an unconstitutional violation of the First Amendment.
Even Rahm was only able to suppress the JVD tape long enough to pay the family and ensure his reelection chances. These are cameras meant to shed light on police actions, paid for and maintained with taxpayer money. And in this case, they caught a whole bunch of avoidable errors.
Groot probably should have listened to an advisor before hanging her ass out for all to see:

I support police 99% of time but was there not someone in that raid with ounce of common-sense to immediately cover the lady with a blanket after she was cuffed.

When her attorney was asked where the video came from they were very hush about it. Ow media outlets are saying she “won” the video as part of her lawsuit. She is ultimately trying to stir up attention to get her some money. Unfortunately not every warrant works out.
She should hire media relatives for cover. Remember the sheriff hitting wrong house twice in week and they made Dart hero for'implementing new polcies'. Last night CBS later reported that this was Feb. 2019 (22 months ago, NOT 2 years ago) and this was at the time when Lori was in a Mayoral Run against 12/15 other Democrats to get the Mayors spot, so she should have known something? If the search warrant affidavit turns out to be completely baseless then it is criminal. That issue notwithstanding, this is a slam dunk case for intentional infliction of emotional distress, with punitive damages to boot. This case is worth over a million dollars.

We know Larri’s affirmation and complete knowledge on this matter exists. It’s why she came out quick to retract the “I don’t know nuffins”.

I've been watching the CBS news special tonight about the botched police raids. The body cam videos and interviews with traumatized kids makes these cops look like a bunch of out of control wanna be Rambos.
This lady is only looking for a pay day. The police did not shoot her, they did not beat her, they did not falsely arrest her and they DID cover her up. They had information and the target lived across the hall. Poor planning yes. Criminal? No. Fix her door throw her a few thousand dollars and move on. She’s no Brionna Taylor. She doesn’t deserve millions. Move along nothing to see here.

What's the maximum or minimum amount of time that you can expect to pass without someone screwing up, no matter who's in charge? This shit will happen no matter what and everyone will always blame someone else. Show one instance where the people involved in a shit show like this ever stood up and took honest, absolute responsibility. At best they will say "this kind of thing happens" which is the damn truth but honesty and forgiveness between people in itself is not profitable. Ask any of the lawyers that have a magnetic susceptibility to this avenue of their profession.
This is easily explainable. There was an episode on Reno 911 where they hit the wrong house. Lt Dangle and his crew were targeting apartment #6 but the apartment they actually hit was #9. Unfortunately the top nail came off that was holding the 9 in place and swung down becoming a 6. Maybe that’s what happened to this high powered warrant team. Just Use this story during your depositions.

One way to being excluded from these avoidable lawsuits would be to not enter the apartment. If called to assist on a SW turn your camera on from the moment you've received the call. This way all conversations will be recorded leading up to the doors being kicked in. The General Order is on your side. On multiple occasions my partner and I were sent to assist CCSAO or feds on executing their SW. Each time we politely informed who ever was in charge that the extent of our job is to secure the perimeter outside of the dwelling, and we're not going in. Reason being unclouted lowly beat cops aren't protected by qualified immunity granted to judges, prosecutor or federal agents. Finally, SW are not part of my job description.

Gimme a break. If its bad police work then it needs to be called out. I've done over a dozen warrants. The BWC footage showed the execution of this particular search warrant was total bush-league. Tell me again how long 3 officers stood in the "fatal funnel" before they got that front door open? The officers were on Google Maps looking for directions which means they never did a preliminary investigation into the target address location. And was the 12th District notified about a search warrant being executed by an outside unit? {facepalm} I could go on but it's quite simple. When there is a doubt...then there's NO DOUBT. Don't risk your career or lives on shaky info. And don't protect tac teams or special units that screw over uniformed officers that are just trying to survive another year in this anti-police environment. Stay fetal Thundercats.
Not a cop here but I support the Blue with a passion. Sorry, though, you heroes won't see me again. The whole darn city is UNSAFE now. I used to come downtown from Deerfield 2-3 times a month and spend big bucks, dining, touring and shopping. I didn't do the spending, Wifey did. We have decided that our personal safety is more important than having a good time. Downtown Chicago has become a place where violence can face us at a moments notice. Y’all need to stop believing everything the media reports. The officer’s involved did cover her up immediately with a blanket after they were done securing the residence, within minutes of making entry not 40 minutes like the media claims. Most of the officer’s involved were out of the residence within10 minutes, and after they realized the target didn’t live there, they secured the front door as best they could. The city came out to fix the door the following day.
Is anyone going to ask why she was actually naked in the first place? Take a look at the BWC videos the city just released and see what you can find on her bedroom bed.

I’ve done many SWs on this job and they are very risky. Not only for the usual officer safety reasons but for the liability. Add into it people from different groups or agencies and this factor is multiplied. I’m not going to Monday morning QB this one because I’m not that kinda cop. I will say though that every single person in that house had that “what the fuck is going on here look”. Not to mention the audio part in the squad car. “What does that mean?” That was priceless. At that very moment any doubt about fucking up was answered. Would love to have been a fly on the wall in that pre-SW briefing. that’s if they even did one.
This thing is being hyped to death by a nearly hysterical CBS. It was a mistake, a dumb mistake but a fairly common one. The lady had every reason to be upset, but I'm glad she wasn't screaming at me for 45 minutes.
These coppers clearly did not conduct their due diligence. Never, ever take the word of a C.I. They will all lie to you. Sit on the place and observe. Then watch some more. If it’s dope they’re throwing they won’t stop. Be patient. The supervisor should be dumped, he is responsible for what his guys do. No questions asked, he goes.
