Shots Fired At / By Police
This would be incident #72 or so this year:
Gunfire was exchanged between police and a suspect Tuesday in Rogers Park.
The shooting happened about 5 p.m. in the 1800 block of West Lunt Avenue, Chicago police spokesman [...] said. It wasn’t immediately clear if anyone had been struck.
[...] officers recovered a gun from the scene.

I dont Monday night quarterback anyone, since I've been on, 20 years to be exact we have lost too many officers. I've been in gun fights more than I would like but come out unhurt. That's because I listened to an old time Sgt. who at roll call said " The only way you cant prevent death by another man's hand is if it's a sniper or a planted bomb, anything else you can control". Those were the exact words of Sgt. [Gombliky]
and I must say he was right. So always be ALERT.
Exchanged gunfire?
Next week they will exchange Christmas gifts.
I lived about one block away from that address on Lunt in the early 1970s. Back then, it was a quiet neighborhood, just like all of Rogers Park (with the exception of Juneway Terrace, which was bad even back fifty years ago).
Rogers Park in the early 1970s was retirees, working people, and Jewish.
Now Rogers Park is infested with the dregs of society. Loyola students take their chances when they walk off campus.
How was it not clear if anyone was hit? Did everyone involved immediately break contact and run away?
Where’s Governor Fatass on this?
OT:
The GAP is closing their 3-story flagship store on Chicago's Magnificent Mile after 20 years, leaving a big space to fill on the city's best-known retail street.
Wow! What a surprise! NOT! The dominos are starting to fall! Merry Cristmas Groot, you Godless idiot.
Why the fuck do we have to tell the media the Officers will be placed on administrative duty that shit is getting old, tell them about the how the piece of shit mother fucken mutt tried to kill the police. That's it.

024 is the busiest district on the Northside by far. Two police involved shootings in a week. Don’t let your guard down just because you work up North.
Upon returning home: (1) Clean and very very lightly lubricate Pistol; (2) Disassemble and clean MAGAZINES! When was the last time you did this? Discard any non functional Magazines and do NOT retain or try to repair! You can afford NEW Magazines— you only need three(3) reliable ones. When removing ammunition from Magazine, check each and every round. High Primer? Chipped Rim? Dented Case? Bad Crimp? Any damage to Bullet, itself?
The FIRST shot is the most important! The Second shot is the second most important! You may not have the luxury of more than one or two shots
TEAMWORK: There are three(3) “ Players” on the Team and all are equally important: Pistol AND all Magazines AND each round!
This is a good website to see the inflated statistics for the coronavirus.

Me too as a 1950’s kid in the 2000 block across from Paschen Park.
It was all good.
Facts are, then came the shitheads that destroyed another peaceful neighborhood.
Thrilled officers weren't injured. Terrible times. Be safe dear ones we appreciate you.
One of the cops ran away and didn’t come back to the scene until assist cars got there about 45 seconds later... smh, what is this department coming too. She never fired a single shot and ran two blocks away waiting. She came back crying when they were trying to account for her. To 08:25:00pm,
You are a total fucking idiot.....who gives a rats ass about your breaking news? Is that more important than an officer involved shooting?
Is the penguin walking serial killer still on the loose in Rogers Park?
It was a mostly peaceful attempted murder of a police officer.
2nd time (S.F.at P) in just over a week in rogers park. And not to sell the officers short, there was also return fire, even in this climate.
Second time in less than two weeks officers in 024 have been shot at. Something has to give. The district is extremely short and it's been busier than years past, not to mention that shootings have more than doubled this year in 024. 024 has become a shit show lately but if you ask the aldercreature Maria Haddon she will tell you that the police are the bad guys/gals.
Now they are asking for blue cards. Problem is, everyone is dirty and most have been brainwashed to hate the police and that it is acceptable to fight the police and that police will get punished if one acts in this manner. SO what do we have? Shooting at the police is the norm now. Most know they will receive little to no punishment. Say stopping cars made a difference, all it really does is get you and your partner shot at or cause a crash that you and your partner are culpable for. It used to be a driver had to turn over a D.L. for bond, then it was a signature now its nothing. Hell, do they even have traffic court anymore? All blue cards are good for is to keep the pressure off your bosses back. They got their spot. Are they getting shot at? How many is enough? DO ducks quack? We now live in a land of no lunches and minimal days off. Stopping little old ladies is bogus. They would be better off asking for parkers.

You are correct sir!
Rogers Park was a great place, great transportation, schools, shops, restaurants some beautiful homes. But what destroyed it, was and at the top would be the Democrat politicians, changing demographics, the cta red line, the overabundance of apartment buildings, halfway houses, nursing and the arrival of the social service agencies which set out to save the area but just drew more scum.
The Juneway/Jonquil Jungle north of Howard started in the late 60s early 70s to get bad. The Howard/Paulina footman called the residents brick eaters, meaning they just devour the buildings until nothing was left. Those buildings in the jungle that were eaten were rehabbed in the late 70s (total gut jobs, where the developers got federal funds) and they put the same people back in them. What could go wrong?!!! I heard they were rehabbed since. As someone in another post said the area is full of leftists. Look at a photo of Howard St, Morse, or Devon from the 1950s and ones that are present. Missing are all the shops/small businesses. Now a lot of community centers that get our tax money. If you didn't have all the shit, Rogers Park being on the lake would have a high real estate value.
As for Loyola & Mundelein the young idealistic liberal college students provided great victims for the predators usually coming up from the Kenmore/Winthrop corridor. At one time Loyola was great for signing complaints. But as time went on they backed off as they were getting a lot of the scum as students. Don’t what they do now. Watching the decline of a neighborhood is like watching someone you know as they are young and then they become old and worn out and then they die. Sad. You can never go back,
COPA responded and began looting 🤣🤣
When I watched the 10pm news they led off the story that COPA is investigating police officers for exchanging gunfire with a citizen. And at the end of the story they described how the officers would be placed on administrative leave. They did describe what had occurred which was a domestic and vehicle and ran the video of the Deputy Chief describing the incident.
I think the central theme of a story is usually established in the beginning of the story and is carried throughout the story. I don’t believe COPA is the central theme of this story. Rather curious isn't it?
God Bless the men and women of CPD who are willing to confront evil. The evil bastard shooting at the police will not hesitate to hurt your loved ones. At some point we all have to stand up for what is right and stop turning a blind eye to the criminal element.
Holy cow! I went to St Jerome’s, right there.
Rogers Park enjoying a taste of the South Side.
You heard it hear first....
Post shooting mission to follow and seat belt missions.
Stay fresh boys and girls

It's the pussy way to say "We're trying to find any way to fuck these coppers over" per groot's office...
Rogers Park was destroyed by Federal Judge Marvin Aspen. He opposed section 8 housing when he lived there, appointed to the bench moved to Glencoe and then ruled for it. Look it up it is available for all to see.
It can happen anywhere. Don’t forget that. Ever.
Loved it when, during the "Live" feed when Randy said, I'll take questions now, a bystander (I believe as it wouldn't be any shit media) yelled "I hope that fucker dies" as they were informed CPD shot the offender.....hahahaha, loved it!!
News says tac team doing follow up on domestic. Why? This was a job for social workers. What could go wrong?
https://www.westernjournal.com/seattle-case-worker-stabbed-death-day-city-council-defunded-police/
Is their a line of duty death provision for social workers?
Watching the decline of a neighborhood is like "watching someone you know as they are young and then they become old and worn out and then they die. Sad. You can never go back,"
Perfectly said. Exact same story across the city.

Some coppers on this job, in particular the newbies think they look so tacticool, until it's time to get involved in some serious tactical sh*t. Hope all officers are okay. Keep your head on a swivel ladies and gents.
Leave it to the media to constantly misuse the word "allegedly". Example: the police shot the victim who was armed with a handgun because he/she "allegedly" shot at the police.

This cop shot an offender attacking him amd his partner with a broken bottle. He is now being charged criminally. Again, why are cops doing traffic stops or anythimg at all besides the bare minimum? Stay fetal.

Uhhhh! 024 can be "busy" for a north side district?! It depends the definition of busy. A higher than average amount of p.o's know only 024. Been assigned to two other districts and an area team. 19 is busy for some reasons and as is 17. Working south or west doesn't make anyone better or more knowledgeable. Northside is just different. Slower districts lead to lax officer safety habits. If its true about the Park Ridge tac female running away then she needs to get dumped from tac.

Stand down soldier. Don't get your camouflage thong in a knot. It was obvious by this point that no officer was killed, let alone shot.

Whatever man, we’re all scared to get in a shooting but if you tuck tail and run I have zero respect for you. I’ve unfortunately been in shootings and it’s horrible but to let an innocent person or fellow officer die is worse than the risk of death, injury and lawsuits. Fucking pathetic if true
Zero females involved....know your facts before leaving comments people.
