Parking Garage Crime turns into Lobby Crime Scene:
- Crime scene was draped across the entrance of a downtown Chicago
hotel Friday night after a man shot nearby ran inside and collapsed in
the lobby. The 40-year-old victim was pronounced dead at Northwestern
Memorial Hospital.
Police responded to the Virgin Hotel, 203 North Wabash, around 11:40 p.m. after a Chicago Fire Department unit handling a call of a man with breathing difficulties in the lobby realized that he had been shot.
Investigators determined that the shooting occurred around the corner near the entrance to a parking garage at 60 East Lake Street. According to CPD, the man was on the sidewalk when shots were fired around 11:29 p.m. One round struck the man in the abdomen, and he ran into the Virgin Hotel, then collapsed, according to police.
Officials have not publicly identified the victim, but CWBChicago has learned that he has a lengthy arrest history, including one for assault at the Virgin Hotel in October.
No idea what type of business the Virgin Hotel does, but having a lobby covered crime scene tape cannot make the management feel good.

SCC, I have a great idea!! Our next Vehicle City Sticker will be of our city landscape with yellow and red crime tape draped across it or even better, use the Hey Jackass graphic of shot placement! That would be an accurate account of what this City has become.
Complete opposite of LL. BJ holds no press conferences involving crime, barely comments on crime, and no weekly meeting on crime, that we know of. If anything it’s a lot less pressure than LL. Personally, I prefer it this way. Ignorance is bliss.
He should have been in prison per his rap sheet, but noooo, he was released early to prey upon the public at large once again. Thanks to our great SA Kim Foxx.

That’s why 017 doesn’t have any hotels… Sgt. E.S., the super star that he is, would have it all in check immediately. He would just call over a car on days to clean up and deal with his super cop activity. He would then walk on the treadmill for 5 hours, then write down in his journal how many years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes and seconds he has on the job. Then he’d retreat to his private quarters within the 017th dist station to sleep and recharge for his next tour of duty adventure.

I heard from a sergeant that the offender most likely shot himself by accident…
