New Strategy!!! (UPDATE)
You know it must be true because an aldercreature said it:
- At least five people were robbed during a midday robbery spree yesterday, with victims reporting holdups from ucktown and Humboldt Park to Ravenswood. And three people were robbed at gunpoint during a single incident in Lakeview early Saturday.
But one alderman is assuring his constituents that Chicago police have a “concrete and collaborative plan” to address the city’s ongoing robbery problem, as police say just one roving band of criminals may be responsible for more than 60 holdups.
...
Ald. Daniel La Spata (1st), whose ward includes some of the areas hardest hit by robberies in recent months, addressed the crime pattern in an emailed newsletter on Friday evening. “It has been a challenging week in the 1st Ward and surrounding communities as a series of robberies has rocked the peace of our neighborhoods and left many feeling scared, angry, and anxious,” wrote La Spata, who represents parts of Logan Square, Wicker Park, and West Town.
“I spoke with the 14th district commander yesterday around this issue to amplify our concerns. While I cannot share their specific strategies publicly – and consequently jeopardize their chance of success – please know that the 12th, 14th, and 25th districts have a concrete and collaborative plan for addressing this issue,” the alderman continued.
For those new to Chicago, the words "...I cannot share..." means the aldercreature doesn't have diddly-shit and the Department has no fucking idea what they're going to do since Crimesha won't prosecute crime and Evans won't jail offenders and Dart can't even keep track of the thousands released on electronic monitoring.
However, via our Department spies and plugged in readership, we can exclusively reveal the Department's newest and bestest strategy EVER! This will guarantee a crime reduction virtually overnight:
- MUST CREDIT SCC
The Department, using creative accounting and some of those 1505 funds, will rent a Frito Lay delivery van.
Captain JF will be coaxed out of retirement using a combination of cigars and fine spirits along with that south side Sergeant DS. Both will be dressed as delivery guys and sent to the armed robbery hot spots.
CFD will be called solely as a courtesy before all formal notifications are completed.
No more repeat offenders.
You younger kids can have some of the old timers explain this proven crime fighting technique. We can only imagine the COPA faces after one of these callouts.
UPDATE: Alternate new strategy - let the police pursue and apprehend, like 1299 did the other night. Officers captured all five offenders. Of course, Crimesha refused to approve charges on four of the five, labeling them CI, while the fifth individual charged was a juvenile....and he was home before the officers were.
Hats off to 1299 for overriding the sergeant. That took some large balls.
Labels: city politics, crime
61 Comments:
Not too many repeat offenders after Sgt DS dealt with them!
I hope the Marine is enjoying his retirement!
Oh hell yeah.
We did it on the trains (aka “doing a Walter Jacobson”) working Vice in the 80s and then again on the Westside during the early 90s delivering pies. Nothing beat a “Luigi’s Pizza Delivery” sign on an XL pizza cardboard in the back window of a covert when it was go-time.
Too bad this methodology of crime reduction will likely never be seen again in our lifetimes.
Send this message far and wide. " simply, there is nothing anyone can do" The goal of abolish the police is here. You've won.
The police can't chase, can't use force, swear, or sometimes even question people without huge disipline. COPA runs the department. Let alone this bail reform that's coming in September. On top of the juvenile reform acts from earlier years. We have a bunch of 15 to 25 yr olds who own the streets, night & day. Except it. Second message to send out " wait for the home invasions start" then the politicians will really have to rethink these policies, but they won't. Not to be long winded, but last message " the democrats will sacrifice all twelve million of us in this state, and not change course, that's what leftist do, kill"
….In the 2019 Chicago aldermanic elections, La Spata ran for alderman of the 1st ward, challenging incumbent Proco Joe Moreno. He received endorsements from local community organization The People's Lobby and state representative Will Guzzardi.[7][8] In February 2019, a photograph reportedly from his 2013 bachelor party was released in which La Spata, dressed in a banana costume and with his friends surrounding him in monkey masks, posed with four African-American boys at a downtown Chicago park. Following criticism of the photo as racist, La Spata issued an apology stating "I apologize unequivocally for the photo from my bachelor party six years ago."…. (From Wikipedia)
Since he cannot share the specific crime strategy please share the strategy described above. And why he is a described Socialist.
Before the far left transformation of the City and PD there was a time when a pattern like this would be addressed. A detail would be formed. The bad guys would arrive and commence pillaging. The detail would address the pillaging accordingly and swiftly and that the bad guys wouldn't be doing it again. After this, similar types of these crimes would drop drastically across the board. Simple police work that worked.
Thats all I've been hearing out of BJ's mouth, from the mayoral race and again up until now, I have a plan..(just like MLK famous speech, I have a dream). No fucking plans, no idea, (due to the incompetency of gold stars at HQ). Let's be reassured from a guy who couldn't pay his bills, lives in a shack with trees growing out of the gutters, nothing to say but smiles with those camel teeth. Yes, Chicago, rest assured your safe!!! (I mean fucked) HAHAHAHAH. You dumb ass citizens get what you vote for.
The Pride of the South Side, the Second Deputy, rides again.
City is shit..shootings robberies wilding etc so glad to move out of there along with the rest of the civilized law-abiding tax paying people and businesses I pray for the people stuck there
Bring back the death penalty…get rid of all the turds SCC posted…it really would be so simple. Common sense does not ever prevail here in Chicago.
Instead of bail criminals should get cash, this will help them realize that if they get a legal job they will receive cash and be able to pay for the things they want. Maybe, just maybe, they will open a business downtown and provide goods and services for all on the new businesses coming.
Just tell your victims that its what you voted for.
Perhaps the conversation between the alder-creature and commander went something like this...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTmfwklFM-M
Sounds like it's time for outdoor roll call and seat belt mission. That really showed them when I was on the job.
Concrete and collaborative plan means We suggest you put a for sale sign on the sign walk and start working with a realtor.
LOL, "Younger Coppers" are a bunch of idiots if you ask me or should I say a bunch of TikTok idiots. Maybe they are onto something, social media will solve crime. I've been to a few functions and noticed that a group of 6 up to 15 Younger Coppers not paying attention to their surroundings. Why? Because each and every one of them was on their phone or maybe they just had a group chat going among themselves while standing next to each other. I'm so glad I left this great, awesome job that it once was. Towards the end I started hating it.
Which caucus does LaSpata belong ?
Our peace in the 25th ward has been rocked for quite some time. You get what you vote for.
All victims are stupid White liberals and all offenders are black. You will never hear that from any msm so I dgaf about them. Stupid aholes living there thinking they are cool and hip while paying huge amount of $$$ for a typical shithole apt. MOve to Edison Park or MT Greenwood idiots
SCC writers, it looks like you guys are not writing good topics like before or could it be that young officers are oblivious of your existence? I've noticed that there are not many comments posted unlike before, there would be up to 100's of comments.
Does the new strategy involve backing up your officers when they use the appropriate amount of force to make an arrest. Does it involve the offender being held accountable for their criminal actions. It is often referred to as the floyd or ferguson effect. I call it the idiot effect, putting idiots in charge of what constitutes proper policing.
And the city will Clear dozens and dozens of cases with one arrest-- even if Crimesha refuses to approve a single charge on any of the detained.
Alternately multiple people cop to a couple of different robberies each in return for minimal sentencing.
La Spata is a proud cop hater. A clerk was gut shot 50 feet from his office a week ago. You'd think this would rouse someone. It hasn't.
Haaa! Yes. A very effective strategy. Area 4 LT John Farrell posed as a pizza delivery driver after a spree of pizza delivery robberies. LT Farrell took care of the problem. A pistol in the pizza box. He received a CAPS Problem Solving Award!
The way I see it...CPD brass is telling the mayor and the alderman crime is down. We know that is a lie. The aldermen are telling the citizenry there is a new strategy. We know that is a lie. The watch commanders and the supervisors are also telling people that efforts are being made to thwart crime. That is also a lie. The state's attorney in Cook County, and Illinois are all telling the media that offenders are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We all know that is a load of BS. Govenor cheezburger says that businesses are not leaving the state. Everyone knows that he is a chronic BS'r. The media prints whatever they say...and we know most of that is lies.
Just how and when did we become such a widespread collection of liars and BullSh#@rs..?
Oh, so the new strategy is Chicago politicians will now support its police officers? Let them do their jobs without fear of being demonized, fired or prosecuted for having to work in the most violent and politically hostile environment in America? Recognize that cops are only human and are at severe risk physically and financially having to make split second decisions with no malicious intent protecting total strangers who very often are the people committing the violence? Hahahahaha! This was just a dream. Never will happen in Chicago.

Truth
Snethan was the man!
Off topic, but why would the old commander of unit 050 Bill Mullane. Who is now employed by the Department of Aviation and Blue Star Security. Rumor is Bill called the new commander and sergeants of unit 050 and start telling them how to run the unit? Bill you don't have enough irons in the fire? Hopefully the commander told Bill to go pound sand!
And if there was a crash and one or more of those "poor misunderstood offenders" died as a result, some or all of those "racist coppers" would be out of a job for violating vehicle/foot pursuit orders.
See what the Police Board is firing coppers for:
https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/depts/cpb/provdrs/police_discipline.html
You forgot to mention the pointless use of our CPD helicopter (Air One) that flies around and around following the offender’s vehicle(s) as Dude Inc. robs and terrorizes the unwary citizens with impunity. The helicopter is operating at a cost $1800-per-hour. {Clown Emoji} All our department resources and “special” units are useless against 4 peanut-heads that do as they please because the politicians, judges and states attorneys are on the side of Dude Inc.
We need to see some of these a-holes capped by a CCW holder. It will put a little kink in the action.
When did the 25th district move to the 1st Ward?
Liberal and stupid is no way to go through life now a days.
1299 👍.
All the rest is 😂
Well Hell....its a job.

Why the hell would want those stupid while Leftists move to Edison Park & Mount Greenwood?
You're probably one of those Commie teachers who recently moved there and discovered how nice it is.
We don't need you and your comrades in our neighborhood!
robbery = reparations by any other name
you guys see the recruitment and retention unit trying to recruit people to take the test in shopping malls very sad...those P.O.s recruiting are still wet behind the ears, no real police experience. Sad what this Department has become.
Well we know that the latest tac uniform of hillbilly beards, backwards trucker hats and inner vest covers worn on the outside aren't doing the job. Maybe a cover of a delivery man wearing a paper hat might catch the criminals instead.
Plenty of room at the new academy to house the migrants. You could fit about 5,000 easily.
I have directly worked for 3 totally incompetent bosses on the police department in over 30 years. The 050 tiny dancer is one of them.

No. CPD is done. Hard to believe but it’s going to get much worse when the billionaire Pigster’s law kicks in.
Retired guy here. Who is/was 1299 in this scenario?
This what the dip shit liberal democrats voted for. So, enjoy it . As a matter of fact, I’m happy . Total assholes and a toilet of a city to match.
I’m old and retired, but back in my younger days I was on the list of expert witnesses who testified on behalf of cops being sued in state and federal court. I never made an extra dime testifying, always insisting on a subpoena so I only received my normal pay. I was sworn for 37 years, then worked for the feds (HIDTA). This is what I learned along the way. You cops who are applauding this officer for disobeying his supervisor are doing him/her and other young cops no favor. This cop is the hero of the day, patted on the back, celebrated in the cop bars, and even on SCC. (By-the-way, welcome back). But remember cops are hero’s or zeros, there is no middle ground. If this had gone bad, then where would this cop be? I’ll tell you, although the old timers know the answer, he/she would be explaining to their kids why they have to get use to water instead of milk on their cornflakes.
What always happens is the cops are very supportive for awhile, but with time people move on, the officer is left feeling abandoned. Everyone is tired of hearing about the case, and those who are seeking favor with the administration are openly hostile.
Meanwhile our cop is trying to find a way to earn a living. Cops are not firefighters, few have a marketable trade to fall back on. Jobs are hard to find, and those that are available are not very good.
These aggressive cops always, when asked for an explanation, will offer that “they were just doing their job, getting the bad guys off streets, protecting the public”, etc. When their case gets called, they always have a look of surprise on their faces when the judge tells the defendant to stand, and they realize they are the defendant. Just doing my job is not a defense.
If this had gone bad, like the bad guys hit a tree and died, what would have happened to this officer? Stripped, then fired, then arrested, then sued and a life ruined.
It’s not worth it. Those back slappers encouraging this type of behavior won’t be around to buy milk for your kids nor will they be standing next to you when the judge says “the defendant will rise.“
Good Job put their name out there!
Years ago, last century, i believe I watched The Second Deputy, after his launching, in action. It was something to behold. Captured a man with a gun that was part of a car chase who had tossed the gun and blah, blah, blah you know the rest… and his actions were award winning to say the least. The pizza delivery one was one of legend also.
iI got interviewed for the job while tending bar on the south side on an early Saturday afternoon. That’s the way it should be. It was an honest job. And and the interviewer was gruff with me and told me to make sure my shit was straight with the city. He told me you can’t owe the city a dime and expect to get hired. Fair and solid advice. Back then it was a great job to get nowadays it’s a deck that’s stacked against you.
The strategy is to have no strategy.
"""I have directly worked for 3 totally incompetent bosses on the police department in over 30 years. The 050 tiny dancer is one of them. """
The little feller is running 050 now ain't he?
As for plans? Theres no fucking plan, other then pretending there is until the Boss's can retire on a fat ass pension.
you guys see the recruitment and retention unit trying to recruit people to take the test in shopping malls very sad...those P.O.s recruiting are still wet behind the ears, no real police experience. Sad what this Department has become.
A bunch of scared of the streets under 5 year wonders. Yes I know a few worked midnights in 12. 12 isn’t shit anymore. In fact there is a little entitled turd still on probation talking shit like he’s been on 30 years. We know your under the Lieutenant’s wing hard ass. Talk your shit in a south side district and lose your teeth.

Do you feel like getting stripped and spending who-knows-how long at call back?
What about all the time in a criminal court where YOU are the defendant?
Does Prison sound appealing to you?
If you do that shit today, this is what you're going to get.
Not that I like the posers with the beards and tattoo sleeves, 5:11 pants and grunt style tshirts, because they are pretty much clueless. However, the reality of "policing" in today's world is that you're going to get fucked over, stripped, sued and incarcerated.
Testicular fortitude.....

{snicker} Hey grandpaw…what are you on about now? The only cornflakes we’re worried about are the ones coming out of the academy lately. Now take your meds and go back to sleep.
DON'T CHASE!

Every copper otj everywhere should read your post. I have said the same things numerous times. Your post is 100% true! I have lived it and I also suspect you have too.
7/24 8:08 AM. Very true. The common sense approach to validating an officer's actions are long gone.
For sure Sneathan still the man!
