Truth? What Truth?
The Contrarian expounds on the ongoing non-scandal of unsubstantiated allegations against a 010 District officer and the near-continuous leaks from COPA to Chicago media that result in big headlines.....and nonexistent retractions:
On Thursday, July 6, Chicago Tribune reporter Sam Charles published an article claiming the City of Chicago’s police oversight agency, the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA), was investigating allegations that a police officer had engaged in a sexual relationship with an underage migrant woman sheltering at the Chicago Police Department’s 10th District.
“For months, migrants bused to Chicago from Texas have found themselves housed in Chicago police stations in difficult circumstances, leaving city and state leaders stunned Friday by allegations that officers at one of the police facilities may have had sexual contact with at least one of those seeking shelter there.”
Salivating at the opportunity to bludgeon Chicago police, nearly every media outlet jumped on the story in both print coverage and social media blasts. Clearly, every detail of the allegations and investigation by COPA would be pored over by Chicago’s legion of self-described “investigative reporters.” Over the course of the next few days, however, the “investigative” aspect of the case proved somewhat lacking, culminating in a bizarre press conference in which the chief administrator of COPA, Andrea Kersten, revealed the agency she oversees was having trouble finding any victims.
The Contrarian (Martin Preib) also hits on the media's disinterest in other sex crimes perpetrated by non-police. Persons convicted in court, then "cleared" by media pressure for no apparent reason, then denied certificates of evidence due to overwhelming evidence against them....that Crimesha's office ignored/buried/discounted.
The mainstream media continues to work against anything resembling impartial reporting.

Attack the cops, but the Board of Ed employees abusing school children, na that story no one would believe, cuz it’s all about the children and the loving Board of Ed employees would never hurt the children.
Welcome back SCC. Left 10th district bit ago for better but they always had issues with weird scandals going back. Tight knit group of Lts, Sgts, officers all sleeping around with one another lollol so it was easy to believe the rumors but happy to hear no truth to any of it. Is merit Sgt friendly still over there on 3rd watch or he go back to division he came from? Guy has a well known obsession for the younger male officers particularly hispanic which is why he probably went to 10 in first place. Got the nickname lurking L***** yrs ago before he went to 10 because he’s always close by & watching lollol. Bet somewhere theres a young male officer or two hes “helping” & closely watching lollol next scandal lol
It is amazing that the police are still putting up with crawling over these illegals in the stations. There was a news clip on showing an organized protest group saying that the illegals are not getting enough and want more. OEMC is running this program and have a link with a company in Kansas that is providing food, diapers, laundry etc. They are complaining about the food, and the fact they are only allowed 60 articles of clothing to be washed per week. The protesters said the do gooders from the neighborhoods are bringing food & clothing to help out. What’s wrong with this picture, why are we putting up with people from another country who are dissatisfied with what they are getting and why are we paying for this? More are coming. There is word out of the Hall that want to institute a city tax for residents of 3%. So if your household is making $100,000.00 a year you will be paying $3,000.00 in addition to state & federal.
The urinalists piss on journalism.

I saw the retraction of the article on the front page of the Slum Times and the Fibune. Large, bold letters. Now that's funny.
I hope the poor officer accused gets millions in a defamation lawsuit against COPA and all the media sites for spewing bullshit. Great investigative reporting at its best in Chicago.
The good news is that the MSM print media is going the way of buggy whips. Guess I should amend the MSM to msm which is indicative of their current circulation.

Wonderful (if excessively wordy) work by Martin Prieb, as always. Thanks for sharing. Contrarian used to be such a good site. Very glad Martin stayed top-notch even while the quality of the rest of that site’s staff’s output sank over the past year or two.
Stop calling them "shelters" they are democrat run "Trap Houses". We have to pay off the "non profit community organisers" by allowing the npco's to run some things in them to shut them up before things get out of hand. Throw a community bbq or something usually does the trick..cheap too.

Hopefully, with this blog's revival, competent media will use this as a starting point (though keep in mind, not all comments are legit, though they are incredibly entertaining) ... so thank you, SCC.

The resident women in the 010th dist. lived the men in blue I was one of those unformed street coppers that the ladies love. Have a NOVIA every two blocks was exhausting if you know what I mean and they knew of each other too. I miss those fun days.
Our media has never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

You can't be everywhere at once. Take your time and be safe. Let the backlog accumulate. 3 cars on the watch? 3 cars go to each job. City created this mess so don't be gung-ho about cleaning it up

Thanks! That training op (Operation Fish Fry) was tough but a complete success. It was training for Tier 1 operators preparing for the Chicago DNC 2024. Our SWAT team acted as a distraction so I could sneak aboard that river cruise boat full of female tourists that was commandeered by Hunter Biden, JB Pritzker and Eddie Johnson. It was our worst-case scenario.

Oh he is still in 010 and holy fuck everything makes complete sense now with his behavior lololol. Mind totally blown. Everything now adds up and should have seen it
