New Business Model

Don't run out of gas overnight in Hammond:

  • Hammond, Indiana, will require gas stations within its city limits to close overnight because of violent crime. (Fox Chicago / Fox News)

    Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott voiced his support of the ordinance after a murder that occurred at a gas station after 2 a.m. in July.

    "A lot of the crime taking place in our city happens after hours at gas stations. We've talked about this for a number of years," he said at the time. "It was time to put my foot down and say this is enough."

So...punish the law-abiding because the government can't/won't do anything about crime. This is also why Walgreens and other retail establishments have decided the only successful business model is the Service Merchandise method:

  • everything is upstairs in a secured warehouse facility;
  • you order what you want at the kiosk downstairs;
  • you pay and get a redeemable ticket;
  • everything comes down on a conveyor belt.

Just for reference, Service Merchandise went out of business in 2002.

You want food deserts and gas deserts? Because this is how you get food deserts and gas deserts.

It's Hammond.

Been a shithole packed full of shit for decades.

Think the west or south sides, excep it's the entire city.

Being Indiana, the Hammond murder rate is impressively low, with all the potential there.....

Many years ago, when I was a little guy, my mother would take me shopping with her around Christmas time. The big stores had Santa stations and you could get gifts for 1-2 dollars, maybe less, I can't remember. The person in charge would yell to someone out of sight that there was a little girl/boy 6 years old and a package would slide down a chute.

Just think of all the crime they stopped back them.

It's all part of the big plan. Soon all physical stores will slowly disappear, small business will be completely destroyed and only the mega corporations will run the show. Then when told to, they can shut down or limit the supply, and the people will be fucked. As they once said: "You will own nothing and you will be happy". It's best to test it in small towns/cities and this is a perfect example.

The area over there has gone to crap. A guy I know lives a little south of there, 4 or 5 years ago he was talking about car jackings happening. Watch who you vote sheriff and judge is all I can say. The only deterrents are arrests and harsh sentencing. The state needs to take that city over, change out the governance of it and fast.

An alternative would be to change the laws to make shoplifting a real felony level crime. rather than the law enforcement joke it is today,
AND Allow the Use of Force, INCLUDING Deadly Force by individuals to Prevent Theft of Personal Property.

People start getting serious time, and shoplifting goes way, way down. If no other reason than chronic shoplifters are locked up in prison. What was the statistic? 1/3 of NYC Shoplifting crimes were committed by 200 people?

Hammond has struggled for decades; demographics are mixed White/Latino/Black, but many at poverty level (take a look at NeighborhoodScout.com by city name). Money is moving out; hospital closed after promising Mayor McDermott to stay as a mini-ER (unworkable plan from the start). Oddly enough unemployment isn't driving the poverty; I did demographics thinking of moving out of IL to IN. South Shore extension is being built, other downtown redevelopment in progress, but when you still see homeless pushing shopping carts right past the Fed courthouse, it's not a good look. Hammond all but died during the '70's steel mill shutdowns; even joining Calumet City to tear down most of the "Strip" during the '90's along the border where hookers roamed in daylight didn't fix things. HPD is a fairly big PD compared to other towns its size, but the crime stats aren't good. There's worse places to live in Indiana (Gary, East Chicago) but it seems Hammond is just hanging on.

Whelp you know what the radical democrats say "we ain't gonna fix this problem overnight cuz the problem did not happen overnight" So Hammond gas station will close at midnight but wait businesses need to close from 9 to 9 they say...so that's a start lmao. The camel nose under the tent, the frog in the slowly increased temp pot of boiling water as the sayings go until we reach the total control point of who the hell gave you permission to go outside, who?

By the way if you think crime is bad at transitional spaces at gas stations in chicago wait until the chicago mobs discover the dimly lit no security no security cameras no attendant electric vehicle charging stations with those near six figure cars. Everyone was told not long ago the plan was 'the 21st century ruff and tumble image of cops is over" Police are being transformed slowly into therapist, and counsellors and gas lighters for the party.

How's that CIT psych brainwashing going? You get a gun stuck in your face ask the offender how they are feeling, did they hate their father? Defend yourself and face the kangaroo COPA show trial court at your own risk;

What do we need squad cars for if pursuits are forbidden? Illinois will provide (Illinois taxpayer funds ) burial for migrant toddler who died in Marion county Illinois on the bus, at a located five hours and 300 miles away in Warsaw Indiana. Warsaw is in central Indiana half way between Indianapolis and South Bend

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- Illinois will provide for Thursday's funeral and burial for the migrant toddler who died last week on a bus headed to Chicago from Texas, officials said.

* * *

Rachel Otwell, spokesperson for the Illinois Department of Human Services, confirmed the girl's name and said the Illinois Welcoming Center, a partially state-funded program, will cover burial costs for Jismary.

* * *

The funeral service for the girl is scheduled for Thursday at a church in Warsaw, Indiana.

* * *

Otwell declined to identify which of the 36 welcoming center locations would provide the service. Nor would she say from what country Jismary's family had emigrated.

"Given the sensitivity of this tragic event, and the way migrancy has been unfortunately politicized, (the department) does not believe it is appropriate to share certain details, such as the exact center that has supported the family," Otwell said.

Jismary died Thursday while the bus traveled Interstate 57 through Marion County, in southern Illinois, about 90 miles east of St. Louis. (and 300 miles away from warsaw IN.

Business Models

Jismary Alejandra Barboza Gonzalez the 3 y/o girl on the migrant bus that died of mysterious unknown causes in Salem Illinois will be transferred 300 miles out of state to Warsaw Indiana to the Our Lady of Guadeloupe and Titus funeral home funded by IDHS state-affiliated Illinois Welcoming Center.

Our Lady of Guadeloupe in Chicago 250 miles away is not good enough? We have no funeral homes or grave sites in Illinois? What is going on with this wasteful transfer of Illinois taxpayer money out of state. WHAT IS GOING ON? We've seen many innocent children from poor families die in Chicago and IDHS is not popping for out of state or in state funeral expenses. Equity? migrants are put on a pedestal Why?

Q; since the toxicology reports are still pending and should anyone GOD forbid need to exhume the body, is Illinois off the hook if the girl is buried in Indiana conspiracy theorist might ask.

Spot on! Gas stations now are nothing more than pit stops for criminals. A frequent site for crime scene tape. Just think you are at a gas station for 3-8 minutes at the most...and still it's the frequent scene of 911 calls, robberies and car jackings...or just plain dread (kinda like Brandon Johnson at a spelling-bee). Now picture an electric car charging station anywhere near Chicago or Hammond. Sitting vulnerable in a $65,000 and over vehicle for 30-45 minutes?! LOL...not a good plan Democrats.

Johnson is pulling for Ursetti to be first deputy which means it will happen. How the hell is a clueless wonder like Ursetti going to run the day to day of this department?? She’s an incredibly nice person but not what we need. Inspectors are coming back in a big way. McKenzie is in charge of them and uniforms and job response time are the first priority. Marxist and gang investigations to get beefed back up with about 75-100 going back to each unit. City wants to add spots of 40 sgts, 32 Lts and 119 detectives to the budget and is going to attempt to keep 100-125 recruits going through the academy each month in 2024. Squad policing prob going to the wayside finally in 2024. City is going to float 10 or 12 hour days in these renewed negotiations with the Fop. Interesting info…
