No cops hurt, one armed gunman stable at the hospital:
- A civilian was seriously injured in a South Side shooting involving Chicago police on Saturday evening, officials said.
COPA is responding to the officer-involved shooting, which they say happened in the South Shore neighborhood near 2400 East 72nd Street.
The Chicago Fire Department said a civilian was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious, but stable condition. CFD did not provide further information about that person's identity or their injuries.
Police blocked off several roads as part of the investigation. A large police presence was stretched out over multiple blocks.
And right on time, here comes the bullshit narrative:
"The police hopped out of their car, and proceeded on foot behind a young man in red, and I heard three gun shots," the witness said. "Everybody on the police force came, and they start pushing everybody out the way. They pushed everybody across the street, and told us to get out of their way."
The witness said several neighbors were frustrated following the shooting, wanting answers and accountability from police. She added her community is in need of help, in terms of people feeling safe around law enforcement and for their safety in general.
She's perfectly fine with ne'er-do-wells running around with pistols, shooting and killing about 1,000 times more non-demonized yutes than the police do.
What's the over/under on the Chicago hoodrats echoing the Oakland NAACP and demanding police and politicians do something about the violence in their communities?

You would think they would have common sense to get out of harms way. Now creatures from the animal kingdom whether domesticated or wild would definitely have the common sense to flee as soon as they heard the gunshots and they wouldn't be back soon. So the neighbors are frustrated, wanting answers and accountability from police. How about accountability from the community for the lawlessness. These neighbors are beyond denial and stupidity. During the week they are demanding action on crime caused by refugees and to do something about all the "moor-duh-rahs"...and by the weekend they want the police hung for trying to take an armed thug off their streets. Did anyone say, "I hope the officers are ok...I know how bad it is out here". Every time you go out on patrol you are in a strange foreign country where cultural norms are ass backward from the rest of decent America. In these anti-police districts, run them like the CFD, hang around the district until a call comes in and then dispatch them to the scene to take a report and file any paperwork necessary.

The problem is that the people have the attention span of a TV show. They expect all the answers within a few minutes, 60 at the most. The police don't have, all the answers yet.

Earlier in the week, in a live TV interview following another, non cop involved shooting incident, two South Side citizens called for MORE police in their high crime neighborhood.
BK is a good cop and will be a great commander. It seems like only yesterday, we were youngsters sledding at Swallow Cliff Woods!
Just make Austin, Englewood, Garfield Park no go zones. Pull out all cops and put them in the rest of city. Two problems solved, sooner or later nobody left in those 3, neighborhoods and other areas have plenty of police protection. Let those problem areas solve their own problems.

Boy it’s hard waking up knowing that you have to report to a corner of this city that completely despises you and what you are paid to represent, decency and the respect for the rule of law. Some of the worst of animus surprisingly being from the most “progressive” areas of the city. How do I motivate myself to continue doing this job for people that hate me without knowing me or willing to accept I am just like them at the end of my tour, just a regular Joe, no lesser no better. I admit and concede it is difficult to rationalize how, upon our arrival at the scene of a child shot that we get treated as bad, if not worse, than the bad guy. Add that to the multiple layers of oversight and scrutiny (TRED Unit, State Atty, Inspector General, DOJ, BIA, FBI, Office of Constitutional Policing, City Council Democratic Socialists, the never ending training, body cameras). Toss in the blatant nepotism and….I don’t even know what to say about that disgustingly demoralizing departmental culture.
Anyway, To the city I grew up in and those that have the nerve to remain…my apologies. Being the police began as a decent paying job and exciting endeavor with the hope that I could make even the slightest difference in somebody’s day for the better. Unfortunately it has become an anxiety filled and suffocating mess everyday. To the younger guys and gals, stay positive, things can only get better from here as long as we have reached the nadir.

More than likely an NYPD member. When SCC was in hiatus the LE RANT was up and running. Open to anyone and many CPD members were posting. They were warmly received.
