COPA Closes "Investigation"
But they say that they could re-open it at any time:
An investigation into explosive claims that Chicago cops engaged in sexual misconduct with migrants has been closed without finding any wrongdoing, the city’s police oversight agency announced Friday.
The Civilian Office of Police Accountability said investigators were unable to find any victims of sexual misconduct, an issue COPA Chief Administrator Andrea Kersten initially raised during an uncharacteristic news conference weeks after the probe was opened in July.
“There is not sufficient objective, verifiable information of sexual misconduct,” COPA said in a statement.
The Contrarian demanded an end to the BS for the 010 District Officers involved.
We'd think a hefty lawsuit would be better to curb this sort of behavior. The fact that this "uncharacteristic news conference" even took place is ridiculous and proves beyond a shadow of a doubt what COPA's function actually is - generating faux outrage and distracting headlines.
It also demonstrates EXACTLY why the Sworn Affidavit Law was needed.

Too bad the CPD leadership never defends their officers when they are proven innocent.
How many officers in the last few days have received COPA notifications for log numbers over 10 years old that have been adjudicated and closed, suspensions served? Heard the emails disappeared from officers Outlook as well.
Coppers need to learn suing entities, people or departments is what makes these idiots stop playing these stupid games. How long did it take for them to raise a storm of an investigation? How long did it take for them to say "We will find the officers and punish them?" How long did it take for them to say "We found nothing wrong, we were wrong, we found the source/info of this investigation was unfound/false/etc?" How long does it take for them to complete an "investigation"? They don't give a flying shit, because they are trying to make any copper suffer. All hearsay, lies and gossip from some shitbags. This is why you as coppers need to understand you can be a victim. If I worked in 010 I would make sure anyone from the dipshit low level city COPA investigator, to the echelon of the mayor eats this lawsuit along with the news media. NOTICE they didn't name ONE officer, I wonder why? Because it was a farce by COPA, the city, BIA, the media and anyone involved who believed this was real. Imagine the slander or even defamation lawsuit that comes out of this? No one would have to work anymore after this incident, you'd be showing up just to show up. LOL. Now imagine if sworn affidavits were still around? Not a GOT DAMN SHITBAG would sign it, no one wants to be on record as being a lying POS anti-police ghetto lottery scumbag. Remember when these morons say "You did something wrong xyz. We will start an investigation, strip you, put a termination clause on you xyz, you'll be in no pay/callback etc and we can take forever." Na, you let them know you'll be named in that suit against them and the shitbag agencies who believe that farce is real. Stop taking the brute, stop taking this whole "Unions gonna help me crap" the city doesn't give a shit about us even if we did the right thing or did NOTHING wrong. Stop letting these jagoffs who just want to play pretend investigator try to jam you up, get a good attorney and stick it to them. The city learns through two ways, the court and losing money, both require them to back these inbred employees and/or agencies of the city that they did the right thing. Make sure you point out how the city ruins your own daily life through their multiple levels and endless ways of punishment onto your life, the emotional trauma they tend to give to us daily.
Took them a long time to close this out when they knew there was no victim. I would have given it a 19p after about 2 minutes.
The officers of both districts should sue as a class action COPA, the mayor, media, and the city for defamation per se and slander per se in federal court. They have a very good suit.. and think that would curb something like this

Maybe the fat governor should retract his comments regarding this incident when it first surfaced- was quick to jump on when it first came out how these Officers should be fired. A public apology would be a start.
Another worthless tens of millions of dollars thrown away waste of taxpayers money, opening investigations in the same thing that never even happened they should be censored or something of that nature for doing this. This was a criminal investigation. A police officer would be in a position of authority and likely considered to have engaged in non-consensual relations with the migrant- IF TRUE. So, COPA WAS WAY OUTSIDE OF ITS CODIFIED AND LIMITED JURISDICTION.
WHY?
This is bullshit. They like FBI, never clear the officer. Lawsuits are expensive, where is your union? Go after the bastards.
So police can be screwed by a Rule 14 violation, but anyone can make an allegation with no fear regardless of its veracity.
To the guy involved in this, PLEASE do the right thing and sue the fuck outta the city and copa. A competent lawyer will be chomping at the bit to get a piece of these animals. Enough is enough. FLOP can’t and won’t do shit to help you. The only reason Liakopoulos and Reynoso were acquitted was because the judge in the bench trial is leaving. He didn’t feel beholden to the current woke powers that be. It was lucky timing. FLOP knows it’s better to be lucky than good. FLOP didn’t do shit to help them.

Push- up’s and sexual harassment earned this mutt promotions to sgt, LT, commander, etc… Larry Snelling was a clouted gym instructor working 4 hour days. He worked the street for a couple years getting as many numbers from the hood mommas in englewood that he could. He’s now the superintendent of police. Take a min to think about that. Dozens of girls on the job are just waiting to make that phone call to get that spot. They know he owes them so they keep their mouths shut.

At least in the old days real old school, born and raised Chicago cop’s had a noble sense of doing the job and could cope with the insanity knowing they could jump into their work and be the real police. There once was an old timer who was banging out some young hood rat cause he like young, wild & rachet and she liked the coppers $$$. Well, she gets knocks up "ghetto lottery" and won't get an abortion and tries to put a case on dude for harassment, threats, whatever response he gave to her "I'm finnin to get mines! This baby gone be a percentage of your paycheck- child support!" But then once he explained no job no paycheck= 0 child support and that he would not look for a job if fired or forced to resign, this young girl suddenly became uncooperative, recanted her statements, etc.. sad but true but hey, playing silly games you win silly prizes
Why does COPA keep all the videos after they are closed or supposed to be deleted? Seriously, COPA has stuff well beyond the timeframe and even after stuff is supposed to gone due to no case, report, etc... is anyone asking why COPA is continuing to act without regard?
the word "investigation" should not be used in same sentence with copa, it's more like a witch hunt.
