Jail Emptied?

So after the first week or so of "no cash bail," we have unconfirmed reports from sheriffs that over 500 inmates were released from the Cook County Jail.

We aren't sure if this was the normal weekly traffic running through the jail or it was anyone who had been held previous as a "cash bond" status and they got a new bond hearing.

Could that explain part of the sudden crime uptick? A whole bunch of people got out and needed "food for their families" or some other imaginary "progressive" excuse?

Food for the family?

How about pay for the mouthpiece? You need a good lawyer to keep your @ss out of jail anytime the police charge you. You need a great lawyer even more if you're guilty.

Putting criminals back on the streets with no bail makes perfect sense. It isn't like they will commit the same crimes they were arrested for while awaiting trial on the original charges. That will never happen. They should never be locked up until they are convicted, even if they keep getting arrested again and again.

=== The sad part is I actually had this exact conversation with a 50 year old medical professional at a holiday dinner. She is in the process of moving out of her beautiful inner city home because the neighborhood went to sh!t after the George Floyd Riots. There is now, suddenly a lot more crime in the city and her neighborhood.

Saturate the playing field with game, just in time for the fall back into earlier sunset and longer nights.

As the feral predators see this as a bonanza for themselves, so do the hunters of predators see this as an invitation to begin the open season of culling.

Let the games begin is redundant, as the game has never paused, just gotten more plentiful.

Don't forget, sportsmen, no taking of trophies is wise.

The memory of the bagging will have to suffice.

It's like fight club, times infinity.

And the magic is in the fact that no one will ever believe it's happening, much like the prey of the ferals refuse to believe they just got preyed upon......

I’ve heard that a lot more community members are being sent to county to see the judge that used to be bonded from the station.

That would make sense but then again, what about DuPage County Kane county will county all the rest they would have to do the same welcome to the jungle scary times when the politicians who are protected by fortunes of police officers and their family and friends their homes all their property while The people are like targets. What are we going to do when they come for you? The elites can do whatever they want the elected. All they do is get more and more police. How many does each elected official has that would be interesting for governor, the mayor on and on how many police are dispatched working on their details. Plus we know that they get paid extremely well , they get sergeants and commanders pay for example, on the Chicago Police Department and they get the pensions. Where is the pension board on this they should not be allowed but then again, this is a Chicago welcome to corruption.

Nearly 500 homicides alone so far this year. 21,000 auto thefts in the city last year. Over 2,300 persons shot in Chicago this year. Just a sampling of reported crimes. This is the city alone not counting the suburbs.

The Cook County jail should be overflowing-at capacity. In a society that values civility as expressed via actual prosecutors and the court that in legal theory protects its citizenry, passersby to the honorable democrat U.S. District Judge Leighton jailhouse facility should view a red flashing neon sign displaying a “NO VACANCY” each and every day. Judges should be complaining that the jail is full and there is no more room for society’s misfits.

It would be comforting for actual law abiding, taxpaying citizens to see that criminals are actually removed from their urban communities and in certain zip codes. Detectives should be making reservations for the county jail in advance for a change in scenery for those criminal justice involved frequent fliers after solving all those crimes by arrest and prosecution.

You think crime is bad now. Wait until the entire Venezuelan sht heads are finally emptied here and regular town Sht heads are loose in masses every day on PTFA citations on ankle monitors. We are going back to crime levels of the 80s and 90s this coming summer of 2024 just in time for the furlough canceled DNC cluster. Houses mouses beware, they might ask you pick up keys and dawn a vest, just saying...you know police work.

Despite prosecutors request, Cook County Judge Mary Marubio sends this man home with a nighttime curfew after he is accused of shooting a dog in the head and is found with 50 rounds of ammo.

Good job @CWBChicago for reporting this.

Why not use the unused jails to shelter the migrants?

All the facilities they need. Shelter, food, recreation in a secure gated community.

They have been working this for years in plain view and it wasn't called out. In 2010 the feds told Dart the jail was dangerously understaffed. The next big headlines I remember were that the jail had people who just needed mental health treatment, then there was Preckwinkle with the too many blacks and browns at county, then EM was blowing up like hot cakes. That general population was inching down the last decade and half since county was told to hire more staff.
