The media is giving minimal coverage to the downtown shut-down and we heard it was a disaster last night.
How's it going right now? What isn't the media covering? Everyone is canceled (unless you're on furlo) so there should be a wealth of stories citywide.

The organizers self-canceled the South Side Irish Parade when it got too stupid and drunk. They put in new rules, restrictions, and guess what? It's been nearly problem free - or at least far less of a problem than it had been the past couple years of existence.
What happened this weekend wasn't a "celebration" of culture. It was a shit show. And it needs to be canceled.
UPDATE: Machete attack on 26th Street. Can anyone tell us what culture exactly celebrates this sort of behavior?

The entire 008th District staged from 47th to 67th on Pulaski. CPD lost control of downtown. CFD was inoperable in total gridlock.
Lots of celebration for people who don’t want to live in Mexico and rather live in this raessist country.

Obnoxious brazen thuggery at its ultimate. So the City leaders didn’t learn from last year? They should be fired if we could do so, if not sued because they failed. And the thugs who took over the Loop who violated the rights of the ordinary citizens who were going to and from work, home, going out for dinner, entertainment, visiting tourists, workers et al. All under the guise of a celebration! A celebration is supposed to be an enjoyable event because something pleasant has occurred and the celebration is used to underscore the happy event. So years ago the South Side St Patrick’s Day was canceled for a few years because it got out of hand, best thing that ever happened.
For all of these “celebration events” the promoters should have to put up a bond and if the provisions of the bond are violated they pay large penalties. Also they need to pay the City for the costs if they want to put on any event, why should the taxpayers have to pay for all these City services such as police, fire when they have no connection to such an event.
This crap did not go on years ago, but since our society has evolved into a lawless abyss, I suggest we build a giant coliseum for people to use for celebrations, parades, protests and what ever. You can do anything you want off the public way away from peaceful citizens and traffic but we don’t pay for your carnage, security or body removal!

I saw a disturbing video out of the 010th District where a PO was struck with a large stick and had his ear severely injured. I was told 010th District had numerous 10-1’s called due this “celebration”. This type of behavior never went on in years past because the police were allowed to be the police. I hope the officer involved is going to be ok.
Can anyone answer this question. We just had a migrant in 8 who battered and resisted arrest against officers, and the charges were dropped within a week. We have a mayor who did not acknowledge any of the recklessness occurring all weekend with officers getting hurt, not to mention a man wielding a machete in broad daylight at a parade. Why do we have commanders and other bosses instructing officers to go on foot and push these blockades of vehicles/ppl out of the street, while our officers are risking their safety? How about the officer who got beat with a pole and almost lost an ear in 010? (And yes there’s videos on TikTok) Didn’t hear anything on the news about that. It was of course a total s***show…with no leadership and nonsensical street closures that created dangerous gridlock throughout the city. A lot of overtime cars were held over and worked 12-hour shifts. On Saturday night, an off-duty copper was forced to take side streets on the way to work. Of course he got shot at near 18th & Loomis. Missed taking one in the coconut by about 12 inches. He was ok but the local thugs ruined his new car with a few 9mm holes. The chaos this weekend opened a lot of PPOs eyes and they realize just what they’re in for with this backward department.

I saw a video from a group chat. An officer was knocked out and on the ground. A male Mexican took a piece of two by four and hit him directly on the head. A photo in the hospital shows his ear was torn apart.
That officer will have serious injuries; A concussion, brain trauma, broken or fractured skull, neck problems, ear drum ruptured, ear/hearing problems, vertigo and balancing problems.
A tip to all the youngsters. Stay on IOD until you're 100% healthy. No one will arrest anyone for not paying property taxes.
Not paying property taxes is not a crime.
It is, however, civil cause for the county to:
1. Declare said unpaid property taxed property owner(s) of record delinquent.
2. Said delinquency begins the process......
3. Continue to be delinquent and, sooner then later, said delinquent property will be declared in property tax default and placed upon the county auction list.
4. Should the property owner have a mortgage debt secured by said property, and if the lender has permitted the mortgagee, you, to not include in your monthly mortgage payment funds to cover property taxes, the escrow account for said purpose, you can bet your sweet bippy that by not paying said property taxes, you will be in default of your mortgage and lender will: pay the tax and foreclose on your property.
5. Should you be mortgage free, no debt secured by your property, well, again, sooner then later, said property will be auctioned by the county.
6. You will be evicted from said property as soon as it is declared in default of property taxes owed. By the cook county sheriffs.
7. Should you refuse to submit to bring evicted, that would then transform a civil violation, not paying property taxes, into a criminal violation, the level of which would be your's to determine, as in, yes, resist being removed/evicted from the property which was yours, and is no longer, because you refused to pay property taxes, sufficiently, and they will kill you. And this is because you will have to resist being forced to leave and said insistence by county sheriff's deputies will not be denied success, up to and past the point of you will not survive.
So, your premise is defective.

I really enjoyed watching the Mexican Independence celebrations in all other major cities downtowns with large Mexican populations, oh wait, there were none. This shit show is a Chicago phenomenon that has devolved into its current state by this permissive city and state. This should have been nipped in the butt the first year. Now it has become a tradition that only Chicago has. They're coming from other states to join in the "celebration " because no such thing would be tolerated wherever they are coming from. Yeah another thing to dread during the summer months. You don't know how this works. Do you? First you get late fees, then your property tax goes to auction , where realty firms bid on the interest of the outstanding tax, which lowers it, but the balance collects interest. Then you have more time, whoever buys it must put in a newspaper they bought the balance, it takes about two years & it rarely happens that property is lost due to taxes , usually people get foreclosed on first. Or it's worthless and is scavaged
which collects nothing in taxes. Nothing is seized by the county , it's eventually may be claimed if a bank doesn't get it back due to loan fault.

Because Don Jerome is a loser. Waller only promoted him because he used to sweep Eddie Johnson’s domestics under the rug when he was the commander of 009, and he would let EJ’s wife stay at home when she was a Lt. in 009. Car 41 was the commander of 009 when the officers failed to DUI Eddie Johnson during a traffic stop, when they found s him asleep behind the wheel. He was notified of the stop that night, he agreed to let EJ go. When it was all said and done, he let the little guys take the hit. He got promoted off of the officers’ back.
