Jason Erwin is an aldercreature with a shady background. He owns/owned properties in Maywood, at least one of which was allegedly used as a crackhouse. There was the bachelor party stripper video filmed in what was said to be his aldermanic office.
Now his wife is appearing in headlines for some shady shit where the Groot administration was hiding email records and now her office being the subject of a computer seizure by the Inspector General:
- City Treasurer Melissa Conyears-Ervin acknowledged asking BMO Harris about providing a loan to her husband’s landlord, a key allegation contained in a recently released 2020 letter from two former treasurer employees who accused Conyears-Ervin of repeatedly misusing taxpayer resources and abusing the powers of her office.
We're also told that there are allegedly four PPP loans in her name. The four loans are all of a similar nature, but have four different addresses, so we don't know what that means. That there are four different individuals with the same name applying for four different loans? We suppose it's possible.
After all, there are allegedly three PPP loans in the name of aldercreature Angela Clay, and there were a couple news stories about her financial issues.
All sorts of breadcrumbs that an enterprising reporters could make a meal out of....if there were any.

Clay and Ervin must live next door to each other on Wabash.
Little bit of online research revealed a 32 year old Angela Clay associated with the Wabash address. Online research revealed two Melissa Ervin’s in Chicago. One is 44, the other is 48. The loans associated with the Hamilton, State and Princeton addresses tie back to the 44 year old. Inconclusive on the 6030 Wabash address but there was/is someone with the last name Clay who lives/lived there.

I live in the forty sixth ward. If you follow the stories in the media the two loans on Wabash were Angela Clay. The other one was someone with the same name. People are talking FBI agents interviewing people and even some search warrants. Those could be rumors.

Then did anyone but me notice that the Angela Clay loans and one of the local Melissa Ervin loans are at adjacent addresses? 6028 S Wabash and 6030 S Wabash. That is likely one building with two or more separate addresses or it's two adjoining buildings. What are the odds of that being random. I should stop at the new Casino downtown.
Months ago the local blog ran stories on this which they picked up from Crains and the Tribune. There was a comment in one of their threads, which I can't find now, about two other interesting loans.

This is one limited instance where it would be to Republican advantage to embrace IRS agents. There are so many PPP fraud cases popping up among Democratic government types in Chicago (and I'm sure many blue state large cities), it would be a great opportunity for treasury agents to clean house of these criminal leeches. How many fraud cases have been identified in local and state government here; at least a 1000? Seems like a good way of honest services indictments and or prosections to get rid of political roaches.

If an employee in Groot’s office or Groot herself had this information for the last two years or so and sat on it why aren’t they part of a conspiracy. It would seem that if they had knowledge of criminal conduct by a government employee and they took steps to further that conduct by hiding it they then became part of the conspiracy.
Of course since they are all Democrats and we know the history of the DOJ toward misconduct by their own kind they probably don’t have much to worry about.

My issue is with the arrogance and the audacity to think that these actions are OK. Her and her shyster for a husband, bitched to Mayor Lightfoot to approve personal security for her and her kids via CPD officers, to take her and her children on vacations, grocery store runs, picking her kids up from school etc. She is the only Treasurer in the history of Chicago’s evil politics, to ever have a Chicago Police Detail. Look into that. You will be surprised. She had no reason other than she was that important. And her ghetto west side husband went on the hunt for every CPD boss who fought it for us. Illinois has a total of 619,937 businesses that received Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans from the Small Business Administration.
Seven individual loans to a "Melissa Irvin" nationally. Four in Illinois.
Out of the Illinois loans 1205 were originated by Cross River Bank.
The four Illinois loans are likely fraudulent. All using same bank. Similar dollar amounts. Question really is if it is the treasurer or some other soon to be really unlucky individual with the same name.

Then it shows screenshots from an online database showing the actual purported connections. Brandon Johnson is an extremely common name so it could be coincidence. Melissa Irvin is not a common name.
In any case federal agents should have the databases to check for connections, right? PPP fraud goes into hundreds of billions of dollars. Feds lack resources to go after all involved. They should be able to go after elected officials or high ranking government employees though. Maybe it's a different Melissa Irvin, but there were CPD exempts with loans and as the newspapers have shown other high ranking employees in local agencies involved and fired after IG investigations. Why hasn't Chicago IG moved?

I think what we are seeing here is a professional opposition research hit job on Melissa Conyears-Ervin and possibly others. This doesn't show up in a google search. I just ran one looking for it. Nothing. You'd have to know about the County Database and find it there. Who

In some of the comments here we see someone or multiple people trying to tie Brandon Johnson to Melissa Ervin through Helen Shiller and Roderick Sawyer. PPP loans link to at least Sawyer and Shiller. I just ran Brandon Johnson and I know others have too. Nineteen loans with his name in Illinois, but it's an extremely common name. Nothing ties to him by addresses he's associated with at least in the Land of Lincoln.
However, that tweet about loans and connections to McDonough Georgia is interesting. Now online databases can be wrong, but there does seem to be a connection from the Mayor to that town. Is that Georgia PPP loan him? I'd guess not, but it needs to be checked out. Then add in the comment about CTU and their finances.
If I'm right about this being an "oppo" hit expect just enough information being posted every day for SCC to run another new post.
So far:

2. DBA which was hithero unknown and links to Mayor Johnson, the schools and Shiller. Media and oppo research firms dropped the ball on this DBA. That should have come out prior to the election. At the very least the Mayor needs to explain it.
3. Georgia PPP loan to a Brandon Johnson which in online databases at least may tie to Mayor Brandon Johnson.
What I'd expect is more links to CTU and the Georgia loan. Possibly other elected officials named too. You don't throw that kind of information out there and then not follow up. I guess I better buy more post it notes.

I have some suggestions for the Ervins. If these loans aren't connected to the Treasurer then congratulations on avoiding one scam we all figured you'd jump at.
If somehow the Treasurer is involved in PPP fraud get an attorney who specializes in federal plea deals. Use your campaign funds to pay for it. Don't lie. Don't ask others to lie. Have lawyer approach U.S. Attorney's office and cut the best deal you can. Lying and/or obstruction of justice will just get you more time behind bars. Do this today. Not tomorrow.
If the local feds didn't have this before they do now. Also given the OIG seizure of Ervin's computers etc if there's anything here the feds likely already know. Think wiretaps, cooperating witnesses etc etc etc etc etc. Once they get onto someone the feds are like a pit bull with a poodle in its mouth--there won't be a good outcome.
Also the best plea deals come when you sing like Tweety Bird about every rotten deal you know others have been involved in. Life is full of choices.

They did this under Groot and she took her security when she found out she had them driving her and her kids to Wisconsin and when she was using tax payer dollars, police officers and gas to drive her to Springfield and shopping. You can’t make this shit up. Why does a treasurer have security? Watch her yourself Westside Ervin. This is strictly entitlement at its best. No threats have been against her or her family, but she gets security.
Can anybody explain why Melissa Ervin was appointed as a member of the pension board? And why does she still remain in that position? She has a vote in deciding the fate of officers disability cases and other matters.
I know most people have seen this before, but it's never to late to find Jesus.

I just spent a few hours looking for connections to PPP fraud etc from some of the earlier comments.
1. I believe the Brandon Johnson DBA with the school board member using the address of the Brendan Shiller owned West Side Justice Center building is indicative of some gaming the system at best. Media needs to run with that. It's clearly him. I'll post links after my comments here. Same stuff posted before.
2. The McDonough Georgia PPP links aren't the Mayor. Links to a guy associated with the south suburbs and the same name. It's tough to chase down this with common names.

3. The Melissa Ervin loans look downright squirrely. Rocky and Bullwinkle squirrely. It's weird that they all used the same lender and four addresses. Three addresses link to a younger Melissa Ervin. The one on Wabash next door to the Alderman Angela Clay loan is the outlier. There might be something there.
At this point I believe Angela Clay is in deep federal doo doo. The Ervins are less clear, but that Wabash address keeps jumping out at me.
As for our wonderful Mayor I don't see any provable links to PPP fraud or PPP loans at all. I've looked. Others have too. Name is just too common.
That DBA is SUSPICIOUS as all hell. Like seeing a shark fin in the water off Cape Cod in 1975 suspicious. Still maybe it's a friendly dolphin named Flipper.
