Whenever a democrat gets caught dirty, it's racist for you to notice:
- The president of the Chicago Teacher's Union is hitting back Thursday, after it was revealed late last week that her eldest son attends a private Catholic school on Chicago's South Side.
Stacy Davis Gates, who has in the past spoken against private education and school choice, said in a letter to union educators throughout Chicago "options for Black students, their families and entire Black communities on this city's South and West Sides are limited."
Limited how exactly? Options like huge buildings on the south and west side serving under 100 students? Or are those merely "job factories" for Davis-Gates union members rather than actually serving the student body? Options like free food, supplies and backpack giveaways that don't even get a sniff at some of the brown and white communities?
Let's get one thing straight - no one really cares where you send you kids to school, as long as you can pay for it. And given Davis-Gates current union salary, she can certainly afford it.
What everyone actually cares about is her advocating to deny other parents even a basic shot at those same choices via vouchers or school reforms or maybe a re-apportionment of school dollars to better reflect the changing situation on the ground.
Did you know the Hispanic population of schools is up to 46%, far outpacing the black 36% and the 10% white. School population has fallen by double-digit percentages over the past decade while the CPS share of the property tax levy has never once fallen below the maximum allowed by law, all while reading and math scores have plummeted.
Forcing parents to stay in a failing system that you are advocating for on one hand, while your other hand is sending your progeny to a private Catholic school is the height of hypocrisy.

Stacy Davis Gates makes $150K as CTU President and another $100K as Executive VP of the Illinois Federation of Teachers (IFT). This doesn't include any speaking engagement money or any other organizations. She's been paid by the CTU since August 2011, before that her CPS teacher salary was up to $90K. So she's not the poor south sider she claims to be.

Her and her hubbie bought their $228K Chatham home in 2018 and live across the street from Terry Hilliard. Oddly, they bought the home on a VA loan and she hates the military as much as the police and the CTU does nothing for vets. They could have easily bought a home elsewhere and closer to schools that offer their children the most when their oldest kid was in 4th grade. Several parents do this.
Her salaries alone could have allowed them to send their son to a private high school as they can afford, unlike poor families.
Racist? The only color here is green and she makes plenty of it. So much so that she could have moved her family to a million dollar home in Lake View or Hyde Park and near schools with more bells and whistles.
Their son had until December 2022 to turn his private school paperwork. So this wasn't a recent decision for him to go to a private school at $16K a year.
Stacy got caught not being loyal to her union members, now she's blaming everyone else and not herself.

I’m 67 years old and CPS has been useless even before I was around. It’s a never ending sinkhole for tax payer dollars. Hell I remember when the schools had their own roster of tradesman working for them, these guys were all political hack who couldn’t carry their weight on construction job sites. How much money has the McMahon family netted from the looting that goes on in just the breakfast and lunch programs? That family has had their fingers in the CPS pie since old man Daley was around. And now it’s the blacks’ turn to rape and pillage the system. The school district is too damn big to ever be policed properly. I’ll tell you how bad CPS really is, over 60 years ago when I first started school, (St.Stephens) most of the families flat out told us to avoid CPS students period! Stacy Davis Gates blames a disgruntled former CTU employee for posting her son's Max Preps info on Twitter but nothing is said in the her email to her members when she whored out all three of her kids out by name in a photo in a Chicago magazine article about her. (Funny is no husband in the photos or what he does for a living. Does he even exist or live with her?)

Next, at the same in July 2022 when former Chief of Staff to the CPS CEO/Chief Operations Officer Crystal Cooper was nailed for PPP loan fraud and lost her $220K position, CPS DNH'd Lane Tech math teacher/girls swim coach Paul Rummelhoff.
Rummelhoff was alleged (girl recanted because she loved him) to have been having sex with one of his swimmers on numerous occasions. It was well known around Lane Tech and the girl's friend told POs and then principal Christopher Dignam about the two of them having sex in Rummelhoff's 'Don't Bother Knocking If You See It Rockin' van near Lane's campus.
Rummelhoff was returned to his position after the allegations went away by the girl reacanting them, but he was banned from coaching for CPS.

Finally, CPS pulled Rummelhoff after other girls complained about him asking girls if he looked good or how hickey's were bad for them and other creep show crap he said to female students.

They should defund CPS !! Several CPS teacher send their children to private school. My kids school is full of them. Even they know what a Joke CPS is. Another teacher rented her home in the city and moved to the western burbs to send their children to better schools. They know with their Messiah as Mayor they can do whatever they want. CPS spends 30k per student and private school does it for 6 grand per student. It's so bad I've heard of CPD and CFD spouse getting divorced on paper so they can send their kids to school in the burbs. With this goof in office nothing will change in the near future.

What has the CTU done for low enrollment schools like Harlan (175 students), Austin, Douglass, Manley, etc.? SDG and the CTU are quick to use the disinvestment and racial arguments, but they do shit for those schools.

Harlan has a $23K per pupil spending for FY2024, Douglass has a $73K (YES $73K) per pupil spending for 44 students (YES 44) for FY2024.
(SDG and her husband bought their Chatham home in 2018. It's not they were in that community long. I wonder if she had a residency waiver to live in Indiana when she taught for CPS as she wasn't grandfathered-in with the old residency policy?)

I sent both of my children to Catholic kindergarten, grammar, high, and college for one reason and one reason alone, to get a quality education. It had nothing to do with race. Both of my children are grown adults and are doing very well/successful for themselves. By the way, I worked two jobs the whole time my children were in school. Me and my wife paid for our children's college education so that they would not have any debt whatsoever when they graduated. Am I complaining, hell no. If we had to do it all over again, we would do it the same way. Hell yes. Were we raciest, no, we wanted our children to get a quality education. One of the post stated that if the reason she placed her child in a Catholic HS so that her child could play soccer, she could have enrolled him/her in a soccer club. They Do not invest any money in the pot shops, all the Whites invest their money or the majority of the money. Blacks are given the franchise with little or no money invested.
This bitch uses the race card for everything. Think back to when the teachers were on strike. It was during this time that there was a luncheon in honor of Karen Lewis. There were no negotiations for that morning. Well guess what. After the luncheon the CTU negotiating team didn't come back for more negotiations. When one of the city people called them out on it. Ms. Davis-Gates immediately pulled the race card. Not sure if that was enough, she pulled the sex card. "Oh, they are making an issue of this because of a black female being on the team." What a crock of shit. This nonsense of the blacks pulling that card out every time they are caught screwing up has turned their whole deck into 52 JOKERS. Just like they are.

Who is Joseph McDermott? Joey is a former CTU grievance rep that was fired along with John Kugler for questioning the socialist ways of Jesse Sharkey and SDG. Joey was a teacher at Crane HS before they closed down, got rid of all their teachers, and reopened with new teachers. After Crane, he worked several years for the CTU. Now, he's one of 50+ former teachers working as substitute teachers or teachers at-large under the title of City Wide Education General and receiving $105K+ teacher salaries plus medical and pension benefits along with sick and vacation days to just sub with no lesson plans or any regular teacher tasks.
Jesse Sharkey is in this group as well.
The rub here is these teachers were promised their teaching positions back after they left the CTU or were wrongly taken out of their positions, like the 10-12 Lincoln Park HS teachers. If their teaching positions were no longer there for them, CPS gave them each sweetheart deals of a lifetime.
Sub at regular teacher salary and benefits until you retire.
(LPHS teachers were cut by former principal Michael Boraz as he tried to rid himself of troublemaker teachers by saying they weren't properly certified for IB studies. LPHS teachers sued and won. For the past 10+ years these LPHS teachers have been pulling in $100K+ salaries to be subs.)
All of these former teacher subs are supposed to interview for open teaching positions throughout CPS but they deliberately tank interviews or apply at schools that can't afford their salaries. So their sweetheart deals continue until they each retire from CPS, some have another 10+ years until they hit 34.5 years for full pensions.
CPS can't place these teacher subs, principals must hire them. What principal wants the salaries and baggage?
The only real bad part is CPS assigns these teacher 'subs' and take them out and send them to other schools at any time. This happened to McDermott as he was at Prosser HS (with current CPD officer/Prosser assistant principal Terry Batey) for 2 years or so and was moved to Douglass HS towards the end of last school year.
Douglass HS is a super-shithole like Harlan HS. Though, Douglass HS has only 35 students and their FY2024 per pupil cost is $73,000.
Where's Michael Boraz? The screw up, move up is now the CPS Chief of Network 15.
