Place Your Bets!

Looks like we'll finally be able to stop gambling at the gas station:

  • All bets could be on in Chicago this weekend at Medinah Temple if all goes as planned for Bally’s over the next few days at the corporation’s temporary casino inside the historic River North landmark.

The city’s first legal slot machines are already visible through the glass doors of the soon-to-open casino at 600 N. Wabash Ave. — and they’ll be taken for their first spins Wednesday and Thursday during practice gaming sessions under the supervision of state gambling regulators.

As long as Illinois Gaming Board Administrator Marcus Fruchter approves of how the cards fall, casino leaders are hoping he’ll deal them a temporary operating permit as early as Saturday, a Bally’s spokesperson said.

Any Robbery Missions on tap for the neighborhood? Asking for a friend.

They were putting up signs today for the "Taxi Cab standing area" in front of the place.

Tomorrow, the city is putting up "Car Jacker/Robbery Offender standing area" signs up across on the East side of the street.

You have to love the efficiency of the city.

Think the casino will ever report a profit? Sure the house will have a 3-5% edge, but it's a long journey with lots of entitled fingers between the floor cage and the corporate accountants. Add in the inflated costs of the goods and services the casino will pay to the correctly connected Chicago businesses.

You think the casino has fixed the results? Just wait until the Chicago Machine gets up to speed.

Would expect the robbery totals to skyrocket after Casino opens. Lookouts at every cash booth in Asian sending out descriptions of winners to all the loop parking lots. Better go in armed to the teeth or better yet don’t go at all. The life you save just might be your own.

A casino in Chicago?! I actually feel bad for the 18th District. We can't even protect downtown from a bunch of 14-year old thugs. Imagine what Dude Inc. will do inside and outside a River North dump like this. No one wants to go to a casino that has several armed guards in Level III body armor at the door and where half of the patrons smell like weed. I give it a month before several people get shot or a drag-racer crashes through the front doors. It's Doug & Busters or Chuck E. Cheese with slot-machines! {Honk Honk}

Remember, way back, when the Illinois Tollway revenue was going to end all of our problems?
Remember, way back, when the Illinois Lotto was going to end all of our problems?
Now a casino is going to end all of our problems!
Soon to come! An Illinois heroin dispensary. Surely that will solve all out problems!
And if it doesn't how about an Illinois Whore House? Oh wait! I forgot, we already have that. The Illinois legislature! headed by the lard ass, non tax paying Gov..

White guilt morons up in Highland Park never cease to amaze.

How about 'enhancing' the simulation with some real-life illegal aliens? Clear out the District lobbies, send 'em all on up to the 'event' location. Conveniently located just minutes from Highway 41! Highland Park Country Club has lovely areas that can easily handle several thousand tents! Nearby clubhouse has shower, restroom, and pool facilities. Denny's for food, Target for 'shopping'....

Is Lawry's going to reopen across the street? Or have they pulled out all the fixtures? Maybe that old mansion would be a good illegal alien 'shelter'?

Profit? Are you kidding? Don't believe that bs! There won't be no stinking profits! You see, the casino gots a lot of overhead. Wink-Wink!

They'll eventually fix it where the pension fund will be financially shoring up the casino, rather than the casino financially assisting the pension fund!

Chicago Works......for the connected!

Where is parking for this casino?
How far do you have to walk to get to your parked car after a day/night of gambling?
Does anyone here really think that the patrons of this casino will be safe after exiting this casino?
How safe is the casino itself from the flash mobs?

There is no cash at the tables, other than in the pockets of the gamblers.

Chips are pieces of plastic, of no value outside the casino doors.

The cashiers are behind bullproof glass, within a secure area guarded by casino security.

Any dimwitted bunch that tries to mob the gambling customers won't have to be escorted out, as the gamblers will throw them out. And doing so will not be considered rude.
