We don't know how this isn't hypocrisy of the highest order:
- The news is out that CTU President Stacy Davis Gates' eldest son attends
a catholic high school (De La Salle) not his neighborhood CPS high
school (Harlan).
SDG has been telling people her son goes to DLS because he likes soccer. No soccer at Harlan or at south and west CPS schools like Austin HS? No worries SDG's buddy, Mayor BJ is allowing for the Chicago Fire's million dollar facility to be built on CHA land. This when residents have been screaming for affordable housing in the spot. We all know how hungry Austin residents are for soccer in basketball and slinging country.
And this from a CPS Parent:
De La Salle HS has 781 students and their security consists of 4CPD-1 active and 3 retired plus one security guard-LOL!
Defund the police for your kid but not SDG's kid
SDG and son live 6 minutes from Harlan and 15 minutes from DLS. Bus rides away. But. I'm sure SDG has her son UBER'd to school and back, she can afford it on her multiple union salaries. So much for being against vouchers and school choice, huh SDG?
FYI: The CTU just gave $2M to the PAC.
The elites are always touting Public Education, but seldom do they allow their own children to enjoy the supposedly superior education opportunities. And then, the union that they head, fights tooth-and-nail against efforts to make better opportunities available to other children via a voucher system.

Labor unions are neccessary to check and balance employers.
They are the source of shit stain when their membership greed exceeds their union profession's quality.
The most greedy unions are those professions paid by taxpayers. A compulsory customer if ever there was one.

Republicans need to push for vouchers and school choice, especially in the inner cities.
That would be one way to pry minority voters from the Democrat Party.
A second way would be for the private schools to cut the numbers of AFL Union teachers.
That would cut the dollars from the union and the campaign manpower both.
But most importantly? It would get children and teenagers out of failing schools and give them a fighting chance to become productive citizens. There is no way to rationalize the miserable education statistics that exist. Urban schools should be able to teach students how to read, write and add, subtract, multiply and divide. There is no reason only 10, 20, or even ZERO kids can pass basic skills testing. There is no reason less than half the students actually graduate.
If we can get 90% of those students to graduate? Maybe they will not become criminals and terrorize their own neighborhoods? Maybe they will become the new middle class, and not a disgrace to the city?
Nothing less than Ivy League for her spawn.

Suppose there is an airline that, like most airlines, allow their employees and family to fly free or near free. Now suppose that over half of this airline's employees choose another airline to fly, even though they can fly for no cost on their employers flights. What does that tell you about the airline? Now imagine if the airline's CEO had to go public with the news that neither she nor her family ever fly their airline, they'd prefer to pay extra to fly differently. That airline would be bankrupt next week.

This is nothing new, it has always been like that. Can anyone name the last CTU or CPS President who sent their kid to a CPS high school? How many CPS teachers send their kids to CPS schools? I bet the percentage is low due to low confidence in the school system yet that is what we are left with. Most of not all CPS/CTU personnel including Mayor Johnson are hypocrits.

It's questionable if the Johnson's actually live in that house in the Austin neighborhood.
It's quite a commute for the Johnson children from that Austin neighborhood to the school they actually attend.

I think Jimmy Carter’s daughter attended public school in DC. As I recall the SS was against it but the Carter’s insisted. Lest that’s how I remember it.
The way you know someone loves their kids is that work OT or a side job to send their kids to private school. During my time on the job I’ve read a lot of police reports. I’ve never run into a cop who attended Catholic school who could not write a proper report.
