Plea Deal in Officer's Murder
Prosecutors have offered a plea deal to a man facing several felony charges in connection with the killing of Chicago police officer Ella French two years ago.
Eric Morgan, 25, is expected to enter guilty pleas next month to unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated battery and obstruction of justice, according to a source.
Under an agreement with Cook County prosecutors, Morgan would face seven years in prison for the weapons charges — the maximum penalty for the offense — to be served concurrently with a five-year sentence for battery and a three-year sentence for obstruction of justice, the source said.
Court records show a change of plea hearing has been set for Oct. 12 before Judge Ursula Walowski.
A spokeswoman for Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx said the office declined to comment, citing pending litigation.
We remember the days when everyone in the car got charged....and got convicted.
Crimesha's office didn't say anything
about this piece of shit testifying for his sweetheart deal, but then,
she's a piece of shit, too, and shit sticks together.

Florida does forcible felony rule. We give them time served.
Suspect that vigilantism is on the horizon. That's never pretty.
I hope he does tell the truth in open court.
Shame on that POS Crimesha! Shame on all the hood rats that voted in this POS & shame on Soros for pumping money into her election. I just wonder what kind of security ole George has. You know he’s got an army!! After all every animal (of EVERY color) would Rob, beat etc that POS for his “pocket change” he thinks like Crimesha thinks that they are friends of the criminal because they don’t understand shit. Shame, shame & F U
An officer, a young officer was murdered. Another officer has injuries that will affect him for the rest of his life. These are definitely the criminals the felons that did it. There’s no doubt even the citizens helped capture the one idiot with the gun in their backyard even they were against these criminals, they should be in jail for the rest of their lives. If it was any other county, they would’ve been any other state. They would’ve gotten the death penalty, which would’ve been proper, would save taxpayers money. Now this punk only gets a short time in jail and he can go on and live his life , I have no more to say except to say God bless Ella! God bless Yanez! God bless blas!
Everyone in the car would get charged with the murder? How so?
Which means out of jail how soon? With time off and already credited out before ink dries. Hope street justice prevails in this case like the old Dirty Harry movie.
Absolute bullshit
You can thank our p.o.s. legislators and the SAFE-T Act which eliminated charging accomplices with murder
So he'll be back on the street next week. Will he have to testify against his brother?
Just a sign of the time. The good people are treated like crap. The bad guys are politician’s friends.
It figures. Nonsense.
What gang and faction is the shooter from? Little late but it would be nice to know faction and areas of operation so we can have some enhanced enforcement in those areas. Just for public safety.
Besides the killers of the officer there are many more people to blame for her murder. The training in the academy, the stupidvisors, the one in charge of CST Barnes(asshole). I hate to say this but if I would have been there that day the ones meeting her fate would have been the offenders. The reason why they were not patdown is because they didn't want to do an ISR.
Are you fucking kidding me ?! A plea deal for the murder of an on duty police officer?! No wonder this county is a crime ridden shit hole. It’s Thunder Dome where there are no rules or laws .
and how many years did the officers get for felony floyd when all they was keep the angry citizens away from interfering with his lawfull arrest
Names of the ASAs offering this deal?
Hey, you get what you elect.
Was Foxx even qualified for office?

Felony Murder statute. Get some time on the job kid.

"The law of accountability allows a person to be convicted for crimes committed by another person, even if the other person has not been charged or has been acquitted or found guilty only of a lesser offense (720 ILCS 5/5-3)."

I'm sure he will be dead before that time then the brother most likely will walk also.
If the courts won't do what is right, then the people need to rise up and become the courts. Enough is enough.
While I don't agree with the please deal, don't they have to Officer French's mother and Officer Yanez agree to the deal? What do they think ?
Totally lawless state murder a police officer and you get out quickly,I don't know what else to say except that this is proof again democrats are totally against a lawful society, when is foxx gone she should leave today and take many of the judges with her!
With the city council ruling and now this when are the police in Chicago going to strike or walkout. Its not going to get better. A stand needs to be made. To bad coppers are to scared and to easily paid off with overtime to make that stand.
A plea deal. For an accomplice to the murder of a Chicago Police Officer. Holy fuck how far we’ve fallen. Keep getting those blue cards. Hey bosses, keep pushing those blue cards. Blue cards put Officer French in that situation. Let that sink in. God rest her soul.
SCC, might I suggest you start archiving MSM links, so we don't give them clicks? It also gets around pay-walls. Use:

Shame on you Crimesha. You are a disgrace!
Whay wasn't the girl in the car ever charged and facing jail time?
Only someone with no conscience or self-respect would argue this was anything but murder.
Im sick and tired of hearing what you vote for...well i and thousands of others DID NOT vote for this!
Mr. Morgan has been in jail for about two years. If he has been a quiet detainee, his sentence could be reduced. With time served, while awaiting trial, it is possible that he will be walking out in about four years.

I thought that you were correct in this, but I looked up the new law and people who directly participate in the crime still can be charged with murder. This decision to not charge the other occupant is solely on Fox
Trust me the pos mutt will reoffend once released
#Bluelivesmatter...
Fuck everyone of those ASAs
0110 SAYS:
Incredible.
With time served this POS will be out in 18 months. Disgraceful.
So they are saying a 7 year plea, out in 3 1/2 years with good behavior?
Plea deal. Heh.
Why, praytell, was there any need for a "plea deal"? Seems like a slamdunk case to me, one that the prosecutors in Cook County.... oh wait, never mind.
There are no more prosecutors in Cook County, they're all thinly veiled defense attorneys working for Dude, Inc.
They all think they're 'gettin over' and 'rightin dem systemic racis wrongs', but what they fail to realize is that the Justice System was put into place to keep criminals safe from vigilantes. Because occasionally the vigilantes got it wrong....or the punishment meted out was too harsh.
Oh well, if that's what they want to go back to, it won't be long before their wish is granted. Wait until some 80 yr old black grandma on the CTA's had enough of the clownin and funnin bullshit and takes out a few with her snubnose .38 then steps over the bodies as she goes about her day. You think any Jury is gonna find Grandma guilty? After that, all bets are off...
People that are of the means have or are moving out of the Shitty and Crook County because there's less risk involved in that than shooting Pookie and explaining it to the rabidly leftist news media. But people who have no other real choice, they're gonna be fighting back en masse, and the Criminals aren't going to like it because there's no use of force model in a street fight....
Street Gangs, "Free Range" urban urchins, Illegal Aliens, Prosecutors cum Defense Attorneys, Democrat-contrived lack of Police... it seems to be building pretty quickly. The DNC might be worse than '68, but this time it won't be Cops cracking skulls, it'll be neighbors taking care of things...
Next year they’ll both be found not guilty-self defense during new trial. ONLY IN COOK COUNTY
Bring back the Felony Murder Rule
I feel like I’m in a different universe… prosecutors, judges let alone city officials do not give a shit about the police. Let alone the voters who put them in these positions. If it ain’t get charged and go to court for doing your job you’re guaranteed to take a suspension. Stop doing proactive work is nothing but trouble and there is no reward. No one gives a shit about you. Just take care of you self and other officers.

For anyone with less than 5 years on the job…. THIS is what will happen when you get injured or dare I say killed. That might traffic stop or chase that got you, the perp will be released and it’ll be for nothing.

The vigilante version of proactive policing is like giving a delayed abortion to the community's tumors.
There are 3 basic ways to accomplish this:
Full measure reaction to violent actions.
Prophylactic full measure action to jimmy hat the community's violent ones.
Discrete prophylactic action to increase the quantity of 'missing in action' violent ones.
A fourth displeasing method is to pit the violent ones against each other, the self cleaning oven method.
The expected law enforcement pov, formerly arrest, indict, trial, conviction, incarceration, is defaulting to: 19paul covers it all.
The abundance of digital eyes and ears is the sticky element in an otherwise smoothly organic equation.
A clear example being this recent pizza slice munching dumbass being sucker jumped by merely two knuckleheads in a fucking alley during broad daylight.
Were dumbass to, after having his pizza slice munching so rudely intterupted, have spun over from his belly on ground to back on ground, with his equalizer popping off rounds into these two mighty muggers, all would have been videoed and used to indict him.
So much for the benefits of abundant digital devices spying on every square cubic inch of visible space.
So, vigilante action must pay heed and attention to this fly in the ointment of decreasing the quantity of the violent ones......
The Judge, if he truly is Honorable-and believes justice is beating heard, will not agree to the plea deal.

We can not go on strike. It is illegal.
I wonder how far away the CPD is from becoming the Baltimore PD:
The Baltimore Police Department has been in crisis for years. The BPD operates under an onerous consent decree and is understaffed by 700 officers. Democratic mayor Brandon Scott’s “Group Violence Reduction Strategy,” apparently designed to replace cops with social workers, is responsible for much of the crisis. GVRS produced “Safe Streets,” Scott’s flagship violence-reduction initiative. The Safe Streets program hires ex-convicts and former gang members as “violence interrupters” to mediate conflicts between gang members, drug dealers, and other violent criminals. Safe Streets workers do not cooperate with the police.
In July, I observed in City Journal that Baltimore’s crime-enabling policies had culminated in the worst mass shooting in the city’s history. On July 2, 30 people were shot, two fatally, at an unauthorized “Brooklyn Day” block party in the Brooklyn Homes public housing project.
I'm guessing we're five years away.
“We can not go on strike. It is illegal.”
Very good Homer. But you missed the point completely. Of course we can’t strike. That does not mean we shouldn’t. Unfortunately 95% of CPD are greedy, living above their mean’s degenerate’s. Whole bunch of one way mother fuckers. No way would they ever be man enough to just walk out “illegally”. Bunch of yes men. If even 10% of the dept stuck together and performed a job action slow down or quiet strike, the city would burn for the allotted time. Then FLOP would take all the credit and nothing would change.
We can not go on strike. It is illegal.

Not OP, but no shlit sherlock. That is why you don't do it like an idiot. You simply blue flu en masse. Just don't tell medical you have something disprovable. There is a long list of very valid reasons to call in.
No law against using the medical. And not your fault everyone else also did at the same time.

No, prosecutors do not need permission to screw over the public
Why would the female in the car be held accountable? That’s crazy talk.
A plea deal on a Police officer murder coming only a few days after an officer and a sergeant were acquitted for a shooting that they never should have been charged with.
The police are the hunted.
plea deal for a cop killer. un-fucking-believable

Officers don't get it, you'll be a walking/dead charity case for the FOP and department. Just remember everyone you've seen get into these scenarios when they "push" the blue card crap and how their life turned out afterwards. Do you want that same fate? I sure as hell don't and the many others know too. Answer your calls, and back each other up. Otherwise let the self-cleaning oven clean itself. RIP French.

read the accountability statute - dude would have had to have caused the other shithead to kill.
(720 ILCS 5/5-2) (from Ch. 38, par. 5-2)
Sec. 5-2. When accountability exists. A person is legally accountable for the conduct of another when:
(a) having a mental state described by the statute defining the offense, he or she causes another to perform the conduct, and the other person in fact or by reason of legal incapacity lacks such a mental state;
(b) the statute defining the offense makes him or her so accountable; or
(c) either before or during the commission of an offense, and with the intent to promote or facilitate that commission, he or she solicits, aids, abets, agrees, or attempts to aid that other person in the planning or commission of the offense.
but since it is black on black violence, shootings and murders the liberal news will ignore it

Marginally -- SIU law school, which might be OK now (I don't know) but was a joke when she went -- but she grew up in Cabrini, and the local media just loves those stories of "women fighting the odds." Personally, I always figured she grew up in an environment where gang bangers were heroes and cops were the enemy, and she took that into adulthood.
Life has become too cheap in Illinois from babies in the womb to cops doing their jobs to plain old tax paying civilians.
“SIU law school, which might be OK now (I don't know) but was a joke when she went…”
SIU has always been a joke. Corncrib party school full of pretentious hayseeds from the faculty on down. Went there briefly during the early ‘80s and couldn’t wait to get back to Chicago and finish my degree.
Sorry Jethro, you don’t know everything just because you’re at a “University” which isn’t Cambridge, Princeton or even Hyde Park - it’s fucking CARBONDALE, Illinois!
