A month after two women were hit by gunfire while sitting in the bleachers during a White Sox game at Guaranteed Rate Field, the shooting that stunned the city and made news around the country appears no closer to being solved than it was in the hours after the incident, sources said.
Rumors and hearsay, peddled largely by content aggregators on social media, have done little to quell speculation about the shooting — which, in the nearly 150-year history of Major League Baseball, is believed to be perhaps just the fourth instance of a fan being shot while inside a big league ballpark.
And this gem:
The woman was shot in the inner thigh and through the calf, one high-ranking police source said, giving the firing of the weapon the trademarks of a pistol accidentally discharging in someone’s pocket.
The idea the shot came from outside the South Side ballpark would make it “a magic bullet even JFK would be proud of,” said the source, who has knowledge of the progress of the investigation. The source predicted a protracted investigation with few avenues for determining what took place.
"...one high-ranking police source said..." Got to love that even when ordered to shut up and stand down, there is still at least one person willing to tell the actual truth....especially when the evidence of a self-inflicted GSW is right there for everyone to see. Ask a few of the range officers - they all have a story about someone's negligent discharge.
Anyone think it's Fred Waller? After all, didn't he say, "I'm not going to pour syrup over shit and tell you it's pancakes" way back in 2018? And then he had to be bound-and-gagged by BJ when he said the detectives has all but ruled out a shot coming from outside the stadium.

I know this may seem surprising.
Dicks in Area One are saying THEY RECOVERED 2 BULLETS from the scene at Sox Park.
The ShotSpotter actually has 2 rounds being fired from a location at the time of occurrence.
Perhaps some people here can see if they can in fact verify this information from Area One.
I know one thing for sure.

Dr. Jeanne Farnan was sitting in the same section as the victims when she said someone started calling for help. A person was bleeding. Farnan made her way over. She said the person didn’t know what happened.
“She said she heard what sounded like a bottle breaking, and then she felt a sting and then grabbed her leg,”said Farnan. “That’s when she started bleeding.”
The victim was a 42-year-old woman. With her was a man who was already applying pressure to what appeared to be a gunshot wound. After she was stabilized, Farnan went over to another victim, a 26-year-old woman.
Farnan said the 26-year-old lifted up her shirt to reveal what looked like a cigar burn. It was later determined to be a graze wound from a bullet.

It was obvious from the start that this was a self inflicted gunshot wound to anyone who has carried a firearm. The wound and angle of the shot and how the other women was wounded irrefutably shows that the shot came from Inside the stadium and the women whose leg was shot had a gun. Seems the cops immediately asked about her FOID and immediately suspected a self inflicted gunshot wound. Yet the mayor wanted to sell this non sense to protect his patrons a teacher living outside the city..

FOIA the security footage. She kept setting off the metal detector. After several attempts to locate what ever was setting it off she was allowed in. The doctor in the stands said it looked consistent to a self inflicted wound, that’s why she didn’t want any treatment. When she finally went to first aid she was accompanied by a friend who many believe the gun was handed off to.
So many commanders that are just not equipped to run a unit. Their cunning ends on how to discipline subordinates and how to invoke GOs when beneficial. They simply lack the decades of experience and foresight that many (but not all) previous commanders had. The job is too big for most of them now, like how their head is too big for their body.
It's like letting a 13 year old drive a car full of people. He may drive fine for a while, but he will crash. And when a ill equipped commander is driving around with a bunch of patrolmen and crashes, the driver is fine but every one else gets injured.

There is great reason why Reinsdorf would want this investigation to determine that the shot came from outside the stadium. Because if it came from inside the prospect of a deluge of lawsuits of people coming into the park with 'graze wounds' claiming they were shot inside the park due to negligent security.
Plus it gives Reinsdorf more ammo in his effort to move the team.

Not really becauase if it was 2 consecutive shots or a double tap, or just someone simply shooting a gun twice. Those bullets would land pretty close to each other.
Regarding the double time for FOP…city trades get what their counterparts get on the outside plus cops don’t ring doorbells or have family members that can get them a union trade job.
That MV was a huge stroke back as a P.O. Our team was detailed to Air & Water show when it was near 100 degrees. While everyone worked an extended shift dealing with BS, MV fell out early in the shift and went to the hospital for “heat exhaustion”. Funny how there were no other officers or attendees that this happened to who were there much longer. Unduly arrogant little man as well.

Worked with Lt KA in the academy. All she does is bitch and moan. Is she still having those close door meetings? She loved to have those closed door meetings with recruits. I'm sure Larry will promote her.
KA gets to work at 10. Disappears for about 30 minutes to an hour, comes back upstairs and leaves at 1500. How can I get that schedule. It must be nice! RBT won't have a problem her because she's never around.

Yes everything was tested. All GSR tests came back negative. Waller screwed up and gave that press conference before the results came back. Everyone wants a cover up to be true but it didn’t happen in the park. There were no bullets recovered, only a fragment. The lady shot with the lodged billet didn’t refuse medical. The one with the slight graze wound did. The video shows both of them react at the same time. If two shots were fired in the park you’d have a ton of witnesses who heard it instead of a couple people saying that they heard a “pop.” No on one is saying anything because Waller ran his mouth and they don’t want to back track and look dumb.
