No-Show at Funeral
The Fire Department buried one of their own this past Monday:
On Monday morning, hundreds gathered at Navy Pier to express gratitude for the time they had with Price, who grew up in Indiana. His wife, Lara Price, stood alongside his mother, Rochelle, and his four siblings — a tight-knit crew known among friends as “The Fabulous Five.”
Before the service, members of the Chicago Fire Department, Chicago Police Department and suburban police and fire agencies gave Price his final salute.

If the Mayor could not attend the funeral of Chicago Firefighter Price he should have personally notified the family, Price’s coworkers the CFD and the news media. He should have given his REASON of his inability to attend PRIOR to the funeral. And he should have informed every one, of whom he named to represent him. If not the optics look bad.
About as wanted there as that useless pos fire chief.
God forbid anything happens to me, I wouldn't want him at my funeral.

Guidice is a sell out. Anything for $$$ and resume. Any person with core beliefs and values would never work for BJ unless they agree with BJ. How could someone dislike everything he’s doing and still be able to implement his destructive policies? It’s Impossible unless you sell yourself. Add the entire exempt staff that list.

Most mayors before him, with the exception of Jane Byrne, disliked the police and Richard Sr. liked the CFD better. Lip service for the Best Police Department in the World. Give the Patrice Lumumba look-alike credit for not showing up because whatever he was doing was more important than showing respect to a hero who risked his life for this city every time he went to work. Why would that matter to him or the command staff. Price will be missed by his family, friends, co-workers and the real citizens of this city. God rest his soul.
It did not change that the past mayors showed up at the hospital for a photo op because that was all it was. As for the funeral appearances and eloquent words, they were hollow. We were and now you are pawns in this game. Useful targets for them to blame their short comings and to blame for the "community" trusting the police.
Johnson will never ever respect you or the job that you do. He could care less.
When he was running for mayor, I don't recall him visiting the far N.W. side. I think he knew better. Aside from that, he really is an asshole for many reasons.

Firefighter died on Nov. 13rd and the funeral was in the 20th. BJ had a solid week to check the house-cleaning & soccer schedule of his black wife & three black kids who live on the west side of Chicago. Housework and being a soccer dad ate more important than city issues.
