- Armed men committed three robberies and carjackings in about 20
minutes Tuesday evening in the Gold Coast, Chicago police said. One of
the carjacking attempts occurred steps away from Gov. JB Pritzker’s
mansion on Astor Street. Two suspects are in custody.
The same two men are suspected of committing all three crimes, beginning with a violent attack on a woman as she entered her car in the 1500 block of North State around 7:30 p.m.
Those extra security details didn't dissuade them.

Unfortunately for them, the Chicago joint vehicular hijacking task force—comprised of CPD, state police, a high-tech federal helicopter, and other assets—was working Tuesday night.
The task force quickly located the hijacked Nissan, and Illinois State Police troopers arrested the occupants in the 7000 block of South Wood.
So they followed these ne'er-do-wells from 1500 North to 7000 South? Impressive. Is this "high-tech federal helicopter" a camera drone?

High tech helicopter? Oh goodie! Let's watch them jack cars, rob people and plow a car through a store window in infrared! Maybe it can fly around the courthouse when some leftist puke of a judge lets the offender go with a "nighttime curfew" or some such nonsense. Then it can get a really great high resolution photo of the shit eating grin on the offenders face as he walks free.

All the nice neighborhoods and the nice suburbs are now just a stolen car ride away from the bad neighborhoods.
I heard the chase on ISPERN. A good job done by all. I guess they have that fancy shooting stick thingie a pursuing squad can shoot at the car they are pursuing. Don’t know what it’s called, I’ve only seen it on YouTube. Ha. They got one tire. Pursuing vehicle couldn’t shoot another stick, it was frozen. Dudes eventually bailed and hid. Helicopter was outstanding and lead the ground units right to them hiding. Ground units walked by dude several times and helicopter was adamant he was there. Guess he was hiding in bushes just feet from them for a bit. Excellent job by all.
In a way, not so much bold as confident that resistance to their actions is sparse and handicapped even when present.
And that any consequences to their actions are feeble to barely a mosquito bite.
Some have said that a few events of Paul Kersey quality would slow the roll of these miscreants.
Nope.
No such easy peasy effect will be forthcoming.
For the cretins to be dissuaded of their boldness, the expectation of prophylactic measures being effectively applied as a certainty, not merely a possibilty, will have to be the default occurence.
This is unlikely to ever be the reality.

The CPD were there to document the arrest. Good job paper keepers. Sad times you have to rely on outside agencies to do your job for you. How is it they can chase and you can’t? Why are we wasting any money on the secretary’s of the CPD.

They’re probably out already within a couple hours if they went through the crook county court system all that money spent unless they’re putting them in jail and bringing them up federally nothing will happen. Cannot at all discount the effect of State Police - meaning a real pursuit was possible. Sadly, if just CPD, there is no confidence that the bad guys could be found and arrested due to current policy.
Kudos to the team - but it is too bad this does not happen so often that it is every-day news and really puts a dent in carjackings and robberies.

'It Feels Like Something Has Gone Terribly Wrong" - 5 Swedish Cops Forced To Pay Fine To Convicted Syrian Migrant Who Brutally-Attacked Them
In a shocking twist, five police officers are being forced to pay a fine to a Syrian migrant who was convicted for severely injuring one of them during riots related to a Quran burning during Easter of 2022.
The officers will have to pay out a total of 12,650 Swedish crowns (€1,122) from their own pockets to the 45-year-old convicted Syrian who has been sentenced to two years and seven months for his role in the riots.

There's a few good ones, but holy moly, ISP pursuits in Chicago are DUMB. How has nobody been sued or killed over these? The one time I was at work and had to help, I'm glad they got the car jacker, but holy potatoes! The amount of force NOT reported and their overall damages must be insane. Look at their lot in Des Plaines, rows upon rows of destroyed cars. No joke, there's some SGT named david (?) that should be fired for some crazy stuff (allegedly due to the pursuit stuff and drunks, still working?). Just a matter of when not if shit goes south on one of these pursuits. They have all been warned but wont listen. This is not the city or state to be doing this in because the poleeeces is always wrong so says the msm, politicians and bosses above you when they distance themselves from you.
