The recent cold snap showed the vulnerabilities of electric cars in a sub-zero environment:
- Thermometers have been showing temperatures as low as 2 degrees
Fahrenheit (-19 degrees Celsius) in the Chicago area, with a real feel
of -20F (-29C). Such weather is a harsh foe for electric cars,
regardless of the badge they were or the price the owners paid for them.
The brutal cold converted many of them into a bunch of dead machines.
The frost has a serious impact on range and charging speeds.
The cold wave turned the charging stations into car graveyards over the past couple of days. People push their vehicles around to get them plugged in. "They are a bunch of dead robots," a Tesla owner said

Conehead thinks the environmental mentals have discovered an "electricity tree" the way 9.5 discovered a money tree that provided all the cash Rahm needed for pie-in-the-sky spending habits.
If the grid can't handle the amount of EV charging lefties want, how is it going to handle a cold snap like last week? Or a serious deep-freeze that runs past a week or two? We've had a few of those in recent memory, and we don't think Conehead (or Fata$$) are going to be parking warming buses in the residential neighborhoods, running 24/7 diesel engines.

This is, of course, completely absurd. The same dead beats who cant pay their gas bill probably arent paying the power bill either. It kind of makes me wonder who they're gonna cry to when the rolling blackouts start happening because they closed all the coal, gas and nuke power plants and are counting on Chinese made solar panels.....in a Chicago winter.
Quite honestly I could give a fuck less. People who vote for these communist bastards deserve to freeze their ass off in the dark while eating crickets in their 100 square foot pod. They deserve to get stranded on a below zero windy day because their smug-mobile electric car froze up. Fuck em. Pain is a wonderful teacher but it's obvious these people need more lessons.
So because a certain demographic don’t like to pay bills the answer is to force people to switch fuel sources. Got it. Taking responsibility and stopping the reliance on big daddy government can’t be a part of the conversation, right?
If you forget the past and don’t know history it’s guaranteed to repeat and rehash itself under a new label:
1960’s: Oil Reserves will be depleted in 10 years.
1970’s: There will be another Ice Age in 10 years.
1980’s: Acid Rain from pollution will destroy all crops in 10 years.
1990’s: Fake OZone layer will be gone in 10 years.
2000’s: Fake polar ice caps will be melted in 10 years.
NONE of those catastrophes happened but what did happen is it all resulted in more taxes and regulations.
If you people (or folks) aren’t old enough to remember all of those listed you’re too young to understand how the game is played. It’s all a hoax. There is no climate change. They are called seasons. Think of the reprogramming they are pushing on us: Summer of 2023 beaches were closed down and a heat wave went into effect for 84 degree weather. Have you ever lived in an apartment heated with electricity? Some months the electric bill was higher than the rent. That was 30 years ago, when electricity was less than a dime a kilowatt hour.

Electricity is one of the most expensive ways to heat an indoor space. As they continue to eliminate the cheaper electrical generation methods this will only increase cost.
The diminishing electrical grid will struggle to support this "policy ".
In the recent past a multi year in depth study would have been required before such a change. The people might even have been given a chance to opine. Not today.
I was amazed at the speed with which the smart meters were installed. I had never seen anything implemented that quickly before.
I'm not sure who wins in this. The consumer pays more, the gas company eventually goes out of business and lays off employees along the way. The unions lose jobs and the government loses taxation on above.
Natural gas is as cheap as it gets. Have you ever tried heating a house with electric heat? Sit down when you get your bill from Com-ed. The monthly bills in winter are astronomical.
So, no new buildings, got it. That said, a battery just needs a trickle to keep it warm. I can use one charger across three or four batteries set at 2 amps for my lawn equipment. Been doing it for years. Never had one fail yet. When the Tesla's all got stuck, the owners drained them, but to charge at the fast charger you need to first get it warm. Owners think electric is simpler, it's not, every bit as complicated as internal combustion.
Homes have been heated with natural gas and natural gas has been used for cooking for decades! I really don’t recall hearing about people dying from natural gas fumes except the idiots who left the gas running with the pilot light out. I am beyond sick of this whole climate change scam and ready for it to go away. So glad I live in a red state.
When the news on the radio ran this story even they mentioned it costs twice as much to heat a house with electric heat vs natural gas.

At about-30C or -25F, they have to shut off the windmills. The cold makes the plastics and composites too brittle. They will crack and fail like Patrick Mahomes helmet shattered ten days ago in the KC cold.

The chemistries of storing electricity cannot begin to meet the required quantities for practicality.
Efficient, effective and economical are the minimum requirements.
Internal combustion engines clearly meet these three vital qualities.
Vehicles' motion powered by internal combustion engines are the best possible to date, and electric powered vehicles are a cruel joke of fantasy.
Governments have no practical purpose in these matters.
Might see a lot of homes in the future in Chicago with large propane tanks like the one at my vacation home in Wisconsin….. but I’m sure those would quickly be banned if they haven’t been already.

Electric vehicles are unreliable and they know it. They want to do away with superior, reliable, internal combustion powered vehicles because they can’t have people mobile, circulating around the country freely. They want you basically held captive living in a 15 minute city, in a govt issued pod, eating bugs distributed like the free govt cheese of old, getting around by bicycle or your govt issued bus pass to ride on unreliable electric busses. If they see you making disparaging comments about them on forums like this, down goes your social credit score and no more bugs to eat, no bus pass, and maybe even a trip to the reeducation camp, where by the way, nobody ever returns from.

Then the City put in the bicycle lanes in which you hardly ever see anyone using. It costs over $200,000.00 per mile to install. The lanes tie up traffic. Another thing they are doing is installing stop signs on major thru streets that intersect with side streets that make no sense, it just ties up traffic more. Well said. It’s coming our way within 10 years. It has to start slowly so we don’t notice and they have to tell us over and over again planting into our subconscious so it’s such a part of our daily thoughts we manifest it for them.
