One way to make sure crime goes down?
Make sure the people getting shot don't get prompt medical care. That way they can't come back for revenge:

Ten or so days ago, we posted about the public/private effort to light $400 million on fire to reduce shootings by 50% over five years. We said unless the effort involved bus tickets out of town for the 20,000 "high risk individuals most likely to get shot," the effort was going to fail.
Reducing and/or downgrading ambulance coverage would be another way we suppose.

1. Graft to privates will increase.

4. This does not mean do not improve your shot placement.
5. This does mean that those privates are gonna want to invest in body armour, whether provided by employer or chosen as a cost of profession by their employees's.

Not only downgrading ambulances, but many firefighters don’t like to work ambulance, even though they are EMT paramedics so they had that changed so they do not work the ambulances anymore because it’s too much work, paramedics can work almost all their days off they don’t even have enough paramedics, we don’t need more firemen that’s for sure we definitely need more ambulances that are fully equipped and more paramedics I think the estimate is 25 more ambulances. They are always running always working. Do you want to see the hardest job in the city? It’s not police it’s not firemen it is paramedics they are always running off at during their shift.

We had a decent service CFD paramedics work their asses off, without a doubt they do work hard we need I think during Emanuel‘s tenure, there was an investigation when we had a real investigative news who were that owned by the Democratic Party about how short we were with ambulances. Then again now we have what 40 50,000 illegal criminals. Who are constantly using taxpayer-funded ambulance service back-and-forth to the hospitals, overflowing the hospitals with their Third World diseases. Never in history has America been overthrown like this. When Rome fell this is how it started. We are already past the tipping point the country is ruined. The city of Chicago is totally destroyed.
Forget the downgrades, put them on 10 or 12 hour days like NY has. That will solve all the fiscal problems.
The problem is the fire guys are spoiled brats. Any little bump in the road that doesn’t give them exactly what they want makes them lose control. It’s like when a child is told no for the first time. They’ve never dealt with adversity. Their job is a fantasy. It’s akin to winning the lottery. Getting paid a very generous salary to watch tv and wear pajamas is incredible. Every Monday is their Friday. Am I jealous? Yep. I chose the wrong test 25 years ago. I accept it. They're not downgrading ambulances, they're downgrading ALS Fire companies to BLS. But, it's not an everyday thing and the email isn't being updated daily.

Make fun of the Hosehandlers all you want, it's well deserved. The medics on the Ambo's are overworked and hugely understaffed. They run their whole 24 hours. It's terrible. City 100% needs more Ambo's, in the areas that actually pay their taxes.

Guys, don't confuse the CFD paramedics with the fire side CFD EMT's. The actual paramedics are probably some of the hardest working people employed by the city and they are getting screwed over just as badly as we are. The fire side are the whinny babies constantly complaining about having to get out of bed to go on a call, not the paramedic side that doesn't know what a bed looks like most of their days. Also pay attention at some of these major scenes, they're talking to us, not the fire side guys, so that should tell you something!
Try & get an ambulance in certain areas of Edgebrook & Wildwood when there is a train. They have only 1 ALS on the west side of the tracks and if thats busy the others CANNOT get over the track when the train is in station or during the backup time during rush hour its a shit show & lives are on the line....
Half of you are incorrect with the story, the other half are talking out your ass.
1.) These were not ambulance downgrades. All ambo's are ALS staffed by single role paramedics with no fire training. There once was a BLS ambo program staffed by FF/EMTs but that is thankfully gone.
2.) These were ALS fire engines downgraded. An ALS engine has one member that is cross trained both as a paramedic and firefighter. It carries all the same drugs and equip as an ambo
3.) The reason for these rigs is that an ambo may be 15 minutes away while an ALS engine will be there in under 5. Remember that when pookie or ray ray throws lead your way.
4.) These downgrades are happening not on the west side or Englewood, they are happening in tax payer areas, sometimes in the same ward.
5.) We were told city wants to cut down on overtime, so no hiring of medic/ffs thus the rig gets downgraded. Same as cpd, they are saving the overtime $ for the coming shitshow in August.
6.) #5 is bullshit. You know damn well where that money is going, como eh sta?

I am a cop or not a paramedic however, we all know the paramedics literally worked our asses off. There should definitely be a different pay scale for them compared to the fire side. They need at least 25% more money without a doubt a fire was paid for what they actually had to work they would be making minimum wage not saying they don’t work but definitely they cannot compare to the amount of work a paramedic or a police officer dies on a daily basis! Whatever happened with the investigative story when we actually had a news media that was not controlled by City Hall when they told the story about how short we were with ambulances, we are short at least 20 ambulances that could be used without any doubt now with all the illegals going to the hospital constantly straining the resources, straining the tax base For their bullshit if they feel sick, take them right to the train station or to a aircraft full load him up and flying back their country can’t take care of them we don’t want criminals here
In layman’s terms………..
Most of the engines/trucks are equipped like an ambulance; drugs, electricity, equipment.
So when an ambulance is on a run one of the trucks/engines who are equipped like an ambulance is dispatched first to be a first responder as they wait for an ambulance to clear up. They can initiate ALS care.
The city is downgrading these engines and trucks so now they cannot be first responder initiating ALS care. Now all they have are bandaids and gauze wraps. They are downgrading them for a variety of reasons which are money, lack of staffing and failure to rehire. Gotta save money for the “new arrivals.” But this is dangerous because these ALS engines and trucks act as temporary ambulances.
Yes. Medics have the hardest job in the city labor wise and wit wise. You have to know a lot of human physiology and emergency medicine and you have to be correct in execution no matter how tired and no matter how beat up you are.
It’s the same song and dance; take from the tax paying neighborhoods and give it all to the non tax paying neighborhoods. Always comes down to that. Including police fire and EMS services.
Wait until you people (or folks) learn that there are only two Tower Ladders in this entire city right now. Two. Should be 10. There are only two. Ask your alderman why there are only two Tower Ladders in the whole city right now. Wilson/Milwaukee and 51st/Western.
Tower Ladders are extremely essential and important in large fires. The other 8 tower ladders have been converted to a basic truck now due to mechanical issues which the city doesn’t want to repair.

It’s also harder to go to the paramedics because of the training. Not sure many firemen are trained paramedics. And why would you go to a harder job.
Look at CFD’s brass. Look at their leader. We didn’t forget about the affair, the hiring the criminal brother who shot a guy in the face and the living out of the city charades. Some of us have seen the ring camera footage and it’s embarrassing shows how no matter what you’ll never take the shitbag out of the girl no matter what position you give her. We didn’t forget. No wonder why CFD is in shambles.
This is bullshit to be certain. But going forward, whenever negotiating any contract with these lying, conniving mutherfuckers in the City - you need to think about how they're going to avoid doing whatever it is they're supposed to do, and you need to include language to cover that too.
The net result needs to be an ironclad contract the likes of what Shortshanks wrote when he sold the parking meters off. Come hell or highwater, no matter what, "fuck you, pay me" applies.
