- At least 18 people have been shot, one fatally, in weekend gun violence across Chicago, police said.
It certainly looks like an interesting Spring on tap.
Gotta improve the aim though.

Sad to say, but I was pleasantly shocked to hear that the CPD had a 23.4% Clearance Rate for 2023. I seriously thought it would be only a half of that.

It was nice weather. Got some work done on a project, warm enough to paint. Pup liked it too, easy walking through 8 acres. Heard some scattered gun shots, not uncommon, people out here like to stay in practice, keep their aim sharp. No police sirens, no ambulances, pretty quiet.

Many shooting victims survive now, due to medical advances, but then also require months/years of rehab, and often permanent significant disabilities, all which become yet another financial burden upon Chicago/Cook County taxpayers. Sadly, "shooting victims" usually become permanent government aid program recipients for the rest of their lives.
Would be interesting to tally-up financial cost to taxpayers, the ultimate average annual cost-burden for a typical shooting victim, often partially paralyzed, or otherwise disabled, upon "recovery", often not likely to return or ever become a well-compensated taxpayer themselves. Cost of violent crime is HUGE long-term, enduring for years past date of actual crime, something our criminal justice warrior-politicians entirely ignore.

Yes, sad story. We Chicago taxpayers are now obligated to bear full financial responsibility for this family, likely for their entire live-spans here in Chicago, including significant disability-related medical and personal-care. Ultimate taxpayer cost for enabling illegal immigration of impoverished poorly-educated people, many already in poor health, often chronically-ill or already suffering from serious disease, is also something our progressive politicians entirely ignore while advocating for "open borders" and enacting magnanimous entitlement programs for recently-arriving non-citizens. Practically-speaking, arriving non-citizens receiving more government aid than average unemployed disabled US military veteran of working-age --- a terrible demonstration of our progressive politicians' distorted values.

Studies show that warmer winters lead to more crime. I know must people here don't believe climate science but, assuming it's correct, it will be interesting to see if winters will get just as violent as other seasons in Chicago.
Let’s look at this, the governor of the state of Illinois trust fund, baby Huey, he’s giving out money throughout the country promoting abortion come to Illinois, where the taxpayers will pay for it, then we have the killings shootings stabbings all the rest of it and now we have this I wonder how many of these will be accidental killings? The governors killing babies why not legalize killing people this is incredible.

You just don't understand the rules for when the media and Democrat politicians consider something to be a mass shooting. Black on black shootings can never be a "mass shooting," because... umm... well... that's the stuff white people do with their guns. We have to restrict the ability of white people to legally own guns, not the ability of blacks to illegally own and use guns for violent crime. Also, when the shooter is a mentally defective transformer type, we have to quickly stop talking about those mass shootings before people notice the problem is the mental defect and not the gun. If they started counting black mass shootings in their numbers, it would look like blacks are responsible for most mass shootings, and by a wide margin. Can't have that though, because it would be racist. That's why they usually just report the color of the cars involved instead of the people when they're black.
It's only going to get worse as long as fatso's no cash bail law isn't changed.

I found that image of the copper in uniform on his knees in uniform washing some fool's feet disturbing, disrespectful and telling.
The way that depiction should've been shown is the copper getting HIS feet washed! All that commercial showed was that the people who are doing right should bow down to the idiots causing disharmony and disruption in our society.
Yes, Jesus washed the feet of the masses, but no one on earth can be held to the same type of grace. Maybe I should be more forgiving.

Time and time again, a previous high ranking boss said, "weather does not effect crime."
Name the boss?
at least 45 shot from Friday to Monday morning,and as many as 10 stabbings. no press conference to address the violence.
