Tio Hardiman of all people, thinks maybe pulling cops out of schools is a bad idea:

“It’s time for a cultural shift right now,” Hardiman told The Center Square. “Violence is a normal way of thinking. There needs to be a cultural shift where all the academic people organize together to design a curriculum we can push to change the way we think about one another.”
Three Chicago Public School students have been killed and two others injured in recent shootings as they left class.

He said he wishes Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson would have consulted with more people in the community before publicly throwing his support behind a plan to remove uniformed police officers from the city’s high schools.
“We’re dealing with a gun violence epidemic,” Hardiman said. “When you have kids being shot right outside in front of the school and murdered like that it puts me in the mindset of how the mafia used to hit people in the old-school mafia days back in the 1930s when they ride up and kill people. I believe that decision to take the police out of the schools was not a real good decision.”
We may have proposed that police be assigned to Hardiman kitchen after he slapped his wife around, but that went nowhere either.
In any event, the CTU has decided that all police are bad, and getting them away from schools is worth the lives of a few minority children who just would have been shot anyway somewhere, someday.
We just wanted some warm bodies on the streets so we could use some of our time due.

Couple of years ago, we lost a copper who was dedicated to schools.
Her name was Carolyn Brown.
She jumped in fights and held her own
She was a cop.
She got involved in Michelle Clark school,and became part of the community.
She became the volleyball coach.
Kids loved her.
Parents loved her.
They should not make sweeping decisions.
A great school should be forced to lose a great asset for the kids.
To use SCC verbiage…… what the actual F&$k???? Why would any officer even if every teacher was a ten & a badge hound want to work in an area where 5-19 year old children say F da poolice. Hang up on officers performing their duties? Etc. I am old school we have almost completely stopped the stupidity culling of the herd. Kids wear helmets, pads, don’t play BB gun wars or dirt clod fights. Now the only thing that culls the herd are drive by’s! We need to teach da yutes to lead their targets. Aim center mass stop these animals before they shoot law abiding citizens. Being a school police officer is a horrible detail. No one wants you there so go where you’re appreciated. I know I’d feel better seeing a blue & white more often. I even wave!!

Pull those metal detectors out of all cps facilities.
Remove all security personal, even the graft concocted ones.
Block all access to 911 from cps facility communication ability, via all known technical means. Including cell phone transmissions from same.
Forbid any cps staff, especially the ctu idiots, from having, carrying, or otherwise have available, any weapons of any type. The use of verbal judo will be enough for them.
Inform all cps students and their legal guardians, for dome aka parents, that, henceforth, all students are permitted to arm themselves as they see fit and needful.
Since the politicians have no clue how to ensure student safety, the cps and ctu have no desire to ensure student safety, you can bet your sweet bippy that the students sure as fuck do. Both have a clue and a desire to.

All parents with children in the schools should be making the decision whether they want their children protected. A lot of the parents are paying taxes to have their children educated and protected. Children cannot be taught in a threatening and chaotic environment.
If some of the teachers don’t like the police they can go elsewhere.

There already are academic papers on the subject of “the culture”. The most accurate is Elijah Anderson’s “The Code of the Street”. Anderson theorizes that in the inner-city black community, “respect” is THE most important thing for a person to achieve and is the most important thing to preserve. It’s amazing that people that have never done this job know what is the best approach to doing it and people who have no idea about this job can all of a sudden dictate policy for the job of the police. I like the old days where if someone didn’t like something you just told them to GFY.
Is the state still paying that fool (Hardiman) and his organization.

Time to cut the funds to Tio
The police were not in the schools when I was in cps, we had to get a security guard my last few years back in the late 70's early 80's. From that experience, we did not need the police inside the school, we needed them patroling outside on our way to/from and during lunchtime.
I think the entire approach to safety and security in the schools has been skewed in that they only teach the rights that we have, they don't teach that other people (or folks) have rights too and what the actual role of the police is.
As to the culture, well, when all that's promoted is consumeristic thug life culture what do they expect.
Example, I can't afford to shop at stores on the mag mile but I don't feel like I need all that stuff and to loot them to the point where they go out of business.
They can say those merchants are greedy all they want, but I see a greater level of greed from activists and gangs flip flopping on their narratives.
Why is it that its always the Valedictorians getting shot/killed???

I've written the ST and TRIB numerous times asking them to run a story about the success or failures of our multiple "violence reduction" programs that now have cost tens of million of dollars asking for one, just ONE example of a single incidence of violence our a single life saved from these programs.
The can't respond because they there's no proof that these programs work. None
Because the very notion that taxpayer money funneled to gangs to not kill each other is absurd.

There are in fact over 1,500 CPS employees making over a $ 100,000 dollar a year which is many, many times above the national average! Your property taxes are increased to the maximum every year to finance these bloated salaries, as student enrollment is way, way down some schools with less then 10% enrollment , and the blue gummed, camel tooth moron wants to remove police from schools because it will save money for them to squander elsewhere in their corrupt Marist system !

High school volleyball coach suspended for touching student inappropriately
CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Roberto Clemente Community Academy volleyball coach was arrested Tuesday after being accused of touching a 14-year-old student inappropriately.
The girl said 37-year-old Casino Cruz touched her while she was on an escalator walking to class.
The school suspended Cruz, who is not a teacher.
"CPS has suspended a Clemente High School employee pending the outcome of an investigation into allegations of misconduct. We are cooperating with law enforcement as it investigates this matter, and we will not hesitate to move forward with appropriate disciplinary measures if the allegations are substantiated," Chicago Public Schools said in a statement.
