Firefighters Injured
Southside:
A Chicago firetruck collided with a car Saturday while responding to an emergency call on the South Side, sending five firefighters and the driver of the car to hospitals.
The collision happened about 4:20 p.m. when the driver of a Chevy Impala slammed into the firetruck at 47th and State streets, Chicago police said.
Officials said the truck had its lights and siren operating at the time.
Best wishes for speedy recoveries to all the CFD personnel.

I'll pray for all firemen tonight.
What are the chances the driver of an impala at 47th and state actually had a license to drive?
CFD has the green light some shithead plowed through the red.
Thank God for modern fire trucks where the firefighters aren't hanging on to the outside of the fire truck.
Will the Impala drive win big settlement because CFD vehicle speeding to fire.
Let me guess...intersection accident.
I just adore firemen. Heal quickly my cuties.
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
Thought racing to a location at high speeds with lights and horns was prohibited for all city service vehicles?
I hope all parties recover well. With that said since I was not there, I wonder who is at fault. Even for us in the squad car with lights and sirens on we have to come to a complete stop at a stop sign or red light. I can't recall how many times I saw fire trucks with lights and sirens on go through intersections at 30/40 mph where traffic control devices were present. Many times I felt like pulling them over for being idiots, but I knew none of my STUPIDVISORS would have my back. Some firemen are idiots just like many idiots i worked with with CPD.
Old time quip,”Chicago Firemen are guys even a alderman wouldn’t give a gun too”
‘“
Aren't all the Chicago red lights equipped with sensors that detect an oncoming emergency vehicle and automatically change the lights to green for the emergency vehicles and red to block cross traffic?
Every traffic light in our metropolitan area has been converted to this standard and it prevents lots of traffic accidents. Cross traffic is stopped 10-30 seconds before the emergency vehicle gets near the intersection.
Yes it screws up traffic for about five minutes after the emergency vehicle is gone, but there are no fender benders caused by lights and sirens.

You wonder who is at fault when a giant, loud, red FIRE TRUCK, with lights and sirens and horns all activated, driving through a GREEN light is struck by dude in his impala on 47th and state, while driving through a RED light? Well shit... that's a stumper. I would've loved to see you try to pull over a fire truck on its way to a call. There's zero chance they would've or should've stopped for your dumb ass. Chicago police are required to stop at all intersections regardless of what color the light is, simply because of department policies, not laws. It's not illegal for an emergency vehicle to go through an intersection, on red or green. The law just requires that operators of emergency vehicles drive with due regard for safety and exercise due care. Your "stupidvisors" probably deserve an award for putting up with your stupidity. If you think you worked with many idiots, it's probably because you were the idiot. Now try to convince any of us that you stopped at all intersections, even on green lights, when your lights and siren were activated. Then tell us you came to a complete stop at all stop signs. Then you can pretend you signaled for all of your turns too. You're a clown.
I juat want to know if the CFD supervisor made him blow and were FSTs done on scene lol
Green lights don’t mean shit. Stop and look. Not worth the risk

And you are humming 'cum on, baby, light my fire....' as you post, aren't you?
Give us the name of the driver. I think you'll find it makes perfect sense...
So was the driver who hit the fire truck texting or doing her nails?
The driver couldn't have been doing her nails..It said the crash happened P.M. not 3A.M. hahahahahahahaha!
I hum a lot. Want to find out?
Now, kees me you fool!!!!
