It's 150 days for pete's sake:
- Actor Jussie Smollett is asking the Illinois Supreme Court to review a ruling that upheld his Cook County conviction for lying about an alleged hate crime, court records show.
In December, an Illinois appeals court upheld Smollett's disorderly conduct conviction.
The Illinois Supreme Court could hear the case, refuse to hear the case or send it back to the appellate court for review.
The appeals court voted 2-1 in favor of upholding the conviction.
Just serve the time, enjoy your stay, meet new people, move on with your life. It's not like you're working.

Juicy-Jussie is fighting this for health reasons.
He realizes that as a very handsome 'young and gay Black man', if he has to spend 150 days locked up 24 hours a day with nothing but other MEN, most of whom are also young and looking for some 'hot love', his body wouldn't be able to stand the strain -- and...uh...the 'constant exertion (LOL)' it would be put under from said romantic encounters which would ruin him physically and have a deleterious effect on his very promising acting and singing career in Hollywood.
After all, let us not forget that Jussie was a rising TV and Music Star before this unfortunate incident occurred -- which, "as his mother's son", Jussie still denies being any part of (those damn Nigerian MAGA Extremists!... Harrumph!)
As such, for humanitarian reasons alone, the Illinois Supreme Court must ... MUST!, I say! ... overturn this verdict and set this Young, Handsome, Gay Black Man, FREE!!! (Free at last, free at last. Thank God Almighty, free at last.)

He has never even admitted his guilt as far as I have heard and I believe was still adamantly denying it. Thanks to Crimeasha Fox he is now in a position to file this appeal. I believe the appeal wasn’t based on whether he committed crime or not. They were saying it’s double jeopardy because he already agreed to a plea deal and then they appointed a special prosecutor who came along and charged him again. Many times appeals are based on procedural problems rather than guilt or innocence. Especially when it rises to the Supreme Court level. That’s something the community especially can’t understand.
Can’t wait to see him walking into jail. That will truly be “justice for Juicy”.

Think courts should direct Smollett to his jail house date, and focus prosecutors' attention to new precedent of charging parents for manslaughter when their under-age children commit murder, following precedent of Michigan shooter-mom's conviction this week.
Foxx should be asked when prosecutions will begin for all the Cook County mothers and baby-daddies of Chicago's under-age gangbanger "funnin" gun-toting lil shooters who kill/maim their victims. Suspect hell will freeze over before we see comparable manslaughter charges here.

Maybe he's of the opinion that it's better to give than to receive. I don't think his fellow prisoners will give him the choice.
I hope Juicy Fruit actually has to serve the time but I wont be surprised if he doesn't.
