Re-criminalizing Drugs

Has there been any good decision made by a leftist government in the past twenty or so years?

  • The Oregon House passed bill 4002 last week that will once again make the possession of hard drugs a crime, reversing what many called an ill-advised decision in 2020 to decriminalize possession of small amounts of drugs. That decision was carried out under a ballot initiative approved by Oregon voters.

The reversal of course was spurred by a surge in deaths from opioids, including those of children, which has been fueled in part by the proliferation of fentanyl, the AP reports.

After "decriminalization," overdose deaths jumped by 1,300% (84 to over 1,100).

Usually we'd call this a good start on reducing the addict population. But the number of innocent kids overdosing on mommy or daddy's stash also skyrocketed and no one was being held accountable, even as they passed all sorts of laws about storing guns, ammo and making it impossible for regular folks to buy a self-defense firearm to protect themselves from burglars and robbers out to score their next fix.

Funny the "follow the science" crowd doesn't follow the science on the use of marijuana. There seems to be adverse effects by its use. But never mind, there can be some money gained by taxing it.

I say let all the useless adult addicts have all the free dope they want. At least they won't be robbin and stealin from working people. It's unfortunate but they will always be a drag on society.

More science about marijuana usage which I'm sure the legislature will ignore. They are too
busy getting to get rid of my gas stove.

You know, "science" is fluid. They can't tell you what a woman is.

I visited Amsterdam when everything was legal. It was hell. They learned their lesson. Why didn’t Oregon get word that full legalization is a nightmare?

I hate working on dead kids as much as the next guy (& it ain't the kid's fault). But, in the long run, social darwinism (legalizing everything) might thin the herd of idiots & useless slugs.

A child/kid may reach out and touch the flickering flame of a lit candle.

Once is usually enough not to do that twice.

Not even if another child/kid dares them to.

Ditto for any and all impossible to not know activities are risky ones.

Other than being deceptively poisoned, child/kid is obligated by own body to not risk damage/death by doing risky things for any reason, especially stupid reasons.

Pay attention.
