Good Read by an Old Friend
If you want a logical and well written piece regarding police shootings, you don't go to the agenda driven media any more. Instead, you find a cop who has extensive experience in a wide array of roles.
You find a guy like friend-of-the blog Jack Dunphy:
I can scarcely believe there's a need to write this piece, but this is the pretty pass we've come to.
I offer here some advice that (one hopes) most PJ Media readers will find unnecessary: When stopped by the police, regardless of how unjustified you may find it, do as you are instructed. Lower your windows and unlock your doors when asked to do so, do not pull a gun, and, above all, do not shoot at them. If you do, it is a virtual certainty you will be shot, perhaps fatally.
Learning this too late was the late Dexter Reed, Jr., of Chicago, who I suspect was not a PJ Media reader.
Mr Dunphy does us the honor of citing a few of our posts in his well written piece. We encourage everyone to go read it and seek out other things he's written over the years.

You would think there would be questions on the Driver’s License test on how to interact with Police. Maybe a whole section in the study guide. No just keep blaming the people you send out there to enforce the laws. Police are always made out to be the bad man and the boogie man.
Bad decision but a good outcome.

Every single use of force incident that the media has reported on has been the result of people being non compliant with law enforcement. It also seems to be the same group of people that are non compliant and usually involved in some sort of criminal activity. I’d like to add to Jack Dunphy’s request to not only do as you’re told by the police , but maybe stop committing crimes that draw the attention of law enforcement.

Media and progressives and ghetto folks want Black people to have virtual immunity from prosecution for violations of clearly-identified and well-known laws.
Yes, it's like a gigantic Monopoly game "Get Out of Jail Free Card". Somehow Black people who commit crimes shouldn't face consequences of their actions.
This is absolutely same scenario occurring here in Chicago, in Cook County, regarding Covid PPP loan fraud. Rampant fraudulent loans made to its "POC/Black" residents, and to its Chicago and Cook County employees, many of whom hold high-paying high-ranking positions. But media ignores this blatant fraud, and Chicago Mayors and Cook County President simply pretend it isn't pervasive, unpunished, minimally investigated, and then largely suppressed and ignored.
Every person must be judged by their character and conduct, not by color of their skin.
People should logically know that if you point a GUN at a policeman, you will be at risk of being shot. And if you fire a GUN at a policeman, you WILL be shot, and should be shot.
Dexter Reed was either incredibly stupid, or intending to "suicide by cop".
Dexter may even have concluded that by engaging in a shootout with cops, that he would be likely recipient of a huge cash-payment from City of Chicago if he survived, or at least his family would get that huge cash payment instead. Media wants to venerate Dexter as a "nice boy", despite his PPP fraud, arrests, firings, lack of academic achievement, et al. His family clearly thinks they're entitled to a big cash settlement, all lawyered-up and loudly proclaiming Dexter's "innocence".
