- Hey SCC,Just wanted to let you know the CPD Honor Guard has done us all proud again by bringing home the Chief Judges Award for the National Honor Guard Competition. I was there to see it and there was not a dry eye in the house. I hope someone recorded it so everyone can see. The families of Areanah Preston and Andres Vasquez-Lasso were there and it was extremely moving. Nice job Honor Guard! Keep it up, you make us proud!

CPD is very proud of our Honor Guard! Its a very fitting tribute performed by our sharp dressed Honor Guard and drill precision at our ceremonies. I've seen the competition for the honor guards across the nation at the memorial. Its a tough competition and CPD leads the way. Thank You for your dedication, professionalism and service!

2 things, #1 tryout and show everyone how it's done. #2, the reason why they placed so low was there a sgt who got brought over on a phone call, never tried out, who shot a proctor on an observation platform, 3 times. They didn't want him, but was forced to keep him due to the usual cpd way of putting the right people in the right place, sarcasm just so the original poster understands. So please show everyone how its done and go through the process. I'm sure you're not fat, lazy or stupid, or you tried out and didn't make it.

As a life long Chicagoan with CPD family members and my own 22 year career MP I want to say Thank You to the Honor Guard. Your representation of the dedication and love for their fellow officers brought tears to my eyes.
Something positive amongst the daily assault from our own treacherous merit admin. This keeps hope and purpose alive. Salute to to the Honor Guard of CPD. This men and women deserve promos immediately not those eating chips at hq taking weekend bbq days off.

Flynn is a stand up guy, a passionate Honor Guard member, and a good copper. Anyone that thinks otherwise doesn’t really know him. This reeks of jealousy.

While the Honor Guard did us well, the turn out of CPD members was dismal. Everyone should make this event at least once in your career.
