Won't Do the Job?
Well there's a surprise....not:
- Under a new policy draft, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office
(CCSAO) would not prosecute gun, drug or stolen property cases if
they’re the result of what’s considered a non-public safety stop, aka a
traffic stop for a reason that doesn’t pose a safety threat.
Examples of a non-public safety stop include being pulled over for an expired plate, registration or a broken light.
The draft policy also states the CCSAO would not prosecute a case if the search was based on consent, but occurred without probable cause.
Never mind that the US Supreme Court has ruled these stops are completely legal and justified by existing Law.
And pay no attention to someone who has never served in the Legislature single-handedly making up the law as she goes along, like the shoplifting law or the Juicy Smollet debacle or constantly failing to prosecute straw buyers, gun offenders, rapists, burglars, battery offenders, etc.
Or the fact that the exodus of actual intelligent prosecutors from her office resembles the engine room of the Titanic at 2341 hours on 14 April 1912.
Crimesha hasn't been doing her job since day one. She exists to free criminals, smear police, and contribute to the increased shitty-ness of blue state shithole cities.

Why should she prosecute? The straw buyers, rapists, burglars were all her neighbors in the Cabrini jets. Lol

Her problem is not that people are getting arrested after something turns up after the initial traffic stop. Her problem is that to many people of color are going to jail.
Well please send me emails on every case that is not charged because I’ll be more than happy to file ethics complaint against every state’s atty that refused or refuses to uphold the oath that they took.

So... I get pulled over for an unsafe or unregistered vehicle. I don't have to put down my blunt, move my illegally owned gun off the seat, or hide the phones and wallets I've been steeling.
Do I say "no sir/mam" when asked for driver's license or simply "fuck you, kim's got my back"?

Downstate commenter here. If this woman is saying that traffic violation/expired tags/whatever stops lead to disproportionate charges for more serious violations for minorities....then she's saying the said minorities are more likely to be serious lawbreakers in general. Right?
Or, she's just trying to get a particular segment of the population off the hook.
Somebody in the media should ask her about that.

It's not about the amount of traffic stops that's the issue .. is the amount of traffic stops done and no tickets being written for the violation they were stopped for ... especially after all the occupants are taken out, "patted down for safety" and the car is tossed. So NO it's not about the traffic stops, its about WRITING THE D A M Ticket!
Everyone is to cool for traffic court ... yet 9 out of 10 of those stops will end up with the driver going to 26 and cal NOT traffic court
Oh can for get about when a passenger in the car is found to be in possession of contraband and arrests... the backwards, bearded, chew spitting super cop won't write driver a ticket BUT rather BLUE card him.. ..it's your PC you morons, write the ticket!!
Just find a legal way to impound car. They may get it back down the road but even a short term punishment is better than no punishment at all.

Nevermind that each traffic stop is fully documented. I say have a department order that each traffic stop must result in a citation. That would work, or have the guts to go to Springfield and have these laws for traffic safety violations struck from the books.
Has the world forgotten that Timothy McVeigh, the Oklahoma CIty Federal building bomber and killer of dozens of people, many of them children, was taken into custody for a license plate violation?
