Award Ended?

Is it true that the Department discontinued the "Traffic Stop of the Month" award?

Why ever would they do that? We mean besides the fact the ACLU is looking for any and all excuses to sue officers over any traffic stop.

Meanwhile, one hundred people got shot this extended weekend.

A lot of the command staff had that one. Just a fluff ribbon. Eric Carter Mr Ribbon himself had it.

I wouldn’t give a flying F about any CPD award at all except the ones presented to me on the 7th and 22nd of each month. Take all the HM’s, life saving awards, and superintendent’s special made up awards. All fake- dont need them.

No need to stop cars because Shitcago is more comfortable with 19 dead and 100 shot than it is with another black person arrested. It makes sense… right?

Watch, all those officers that have had awards pending for years by the board will not receive them because it’s somehow impossible for someone to actual do their assigned duty once a month. This place is dysfunctional as f.

Back in 95 when I started, we would stop 30 or more cars a night. The amount of guns and drugs taken off the streets was very high, not to mention the people with warrants. Back than you never saw this amount of people being shot at one location, if you had two people shot at one crime scene that was unusual, not anything like you see today. There is a simple answer for that, we shagged them off the corners when they were hanging deep. Sad things should get better as time goes by, you are supposed to learn as you go on, not working now because all our tools are being taken away by these a-hole politicians. Sad very sad!

Believe it or not, way back when O.W.Wilson was Supt. The Traffic Award of the Month paid $100! The money came from, of all places, Northwesern Univ"s Traffic Institute. No medal, just cash!

Amen! I remember a Sgt handing me some kinda fluff participation ribbon (‘96 DNC? World Cup Soccer?) at the desk and it was literally in my hand seconds before I dropped it into the garbage can. I’ll never forget the look on his face. Same with the CAPS ribbon and the perfect attendance awards. They mean NOTHING. Yet the usual handjobs can’t wait to add them to their “Mexican General Starter Kit”. Everything about this job is fake, kids. Nothing is on the square. NOTHING. Especially awards that aren’t LEGIT life saving, Carter Harrison, Supe Award of Valor. Not like you clowns who have FLOP put 15+ people on their own made up awards. It’s “Everyone Gets a Trophy” CPD style. Losers.
