241 Graduates

Well, not really. Because 75% of those PPO's have already been in the districts for a few months:

  • Several promotions were also celebrated Monday: one deputy chief, one captain, 17 lieutenants, 80 sergeants, 18 field training officers and 80 detectives.

The 80 sergeants, 18 FTO's and 80 detectives all came from the rank of.....Patrolman! Meaning the 241 graduates suddenly becomes a net gain of 63, less than 3 PPO's per District on average - just under one-per-watch.

Things are looking up!

Meanwhile the exit door has been spinning steadily. We're told that this summer will be the biggest exodus of Officers in two decades. If something better comes along (suburban or out-of-state, federal or fire department jobs) we're going to lose even more. Twelve hour days are a real possibility moving forward along with personnel cuts - not at HQ though. No no no....they're going to cut the "quiet" Districts like 016, 017, 020, 022, 024 even more and to Hell with the aldercreatures and their constituents who protest..

I’m sorry but former union leaders like Fred Flintstone Donahue and Dino Dumbass didn’t want a 10hour day it was 6-2 or 4-2 ridiculous 5th Dist can’t sustain a watch without the 10hour day while some moronic street deputy runs around checking pants and beards WTF has this department become JFR

How about getting big daddy Spiro out of 050 ! He should be due for another bite off that merit tree. What’s the matter aren’t the Greeks making enough noise?? All this idiot is concerned about is who’s parking in 050 lot. Having Sgts running around checking parking placards in our own house. Several Sgts haven’t had their placards visible. But he’s obsessed with jamming up the troops that work there. This unit has gotten so bad it’s pathetic. And for the ones that understand it’s nothing like it used to be. We keep getting horrible commanders. Spiro is so arrogant no one can stand being in the same room with him.

Hearing the same. Just between 15 May and 15June, somewhere around 325-350 is what a little birdie mentioned. Time will tell.

The Chicago Police Department is in the spin zone! Blame the idiot voters and the Chicago Public Schools for the dumbing down society. Chicago is a dying city. Good luck to any of the PPO’s with getting a pension. Be wear of pension reform. That is code for taking your money.

Not to mention this is the worst batch of ppos we have ever gotten and it will only get worse. It isn’t just the standards are lower, the instructors at the academy have never been of lower quality. The FTO system has never been worse.

Where? 016 has seen a rise in crime due to its staffing shortages. Take more officers away and really see how bad it will get.

The officers didn't want those schedules. The only ones who liked the "10 hour day" schedule were the ones still working 8 hours or less but getting more days off from the new schedule. Manpower issues will create the need for 12 hour days, and morale will suffer, stress will increase, complaints will increase, TRRs will increase, crashes will increase, etc. Don't act like everyone wanted to actually work 10 hours and the union shot it down.

If the news is correct?? Thousands of Federal employees are taking the buyout or not returning to work for the Orange Man. This means a possibility of law enforcement/investigation type positions would be open in the FBI, CIA, IRS, A.T. & F. and others. Pay is better and there should be several positions that do not include living in the D.C. area. NOW is the time to get in line first. DEI is being eliminated so unless you want to turn out the lights in Chirac there are options. Check out any and all postings.

If you think anyone feels bad about 050 save it goes the tac team doing out there by the way ? the useless one that everyone talked about on here last year you know flirting with flight attendants about 15 years younger , sitting in the pilot lounge . Don’t forget to put your parking placard in your window by the way buddy .

They all laugh and think you’re gross by the way .

Rotating every 28 days. those without clout and not picked up by a watch bounced between mid-nights and 3rd watch. On top of that your DOG would be change so you would never see weekends off. The good old days. But the change day watch parties......
