Kind of symbolic of the entire Sparklefart legacy when you think about it:
- A federal lawsuit reviewed by Newsweek alleges that a company involved in constructing the Obama Presidential Center subjected a Chicago-based Black American-owned subcontractor to "baseless criticism and defamatory and discriminatory accusations" and blamed the company for construction delays.
"In a shocking and disheartening turn of events, the African American owner of a local construction company finds himself and his company on the brink of forced closure because of racial discrimination by the structural engineer of record (Thornton Tomasetti) for the construction of The Obama Presidential Center," the case reads.
As far as we can tell, the structural engineer - who has to inspect and verify the structure won't collapse - alleges that the concrete work is subpar, improper and outside industry specs. We don't know much about concrete work, but....
....we're pretty sure that a brand new building that hasn't even opened yet shouldn't have concrete slabs cracking like that.
The only "good" news is that the $500 million project - currently sitting at $830 million and likely to top a billion dollars - is paid for by donations of people attempting to buy favors from Sparklefarts, and not taxpayers.

Not all that many years ago a minority construction firm had the contract for concrete and electric at an O’Hare project. When they were ready for the final hook up to the power grid and put it online the whole thing went to shit.
They realized if they hooked it up as it was the whole airport would have been put in jeopardy. Since so much of the work was buried under the concrete which was also found to be substandard it all had to be ripped up. It was easier to just pay the minority contractor out and start over. No one wanted to explain the cost overrun. Who wanted to say they paid twice for the same job.
When all was said and done the City was boasting how this was a prime example of cooperation with minority input. Those in the know wanted to vomit.

A crumbling boulevard of broken dreams...If that was a CPD building they would have troweled some new cement over those cracks, paid off an inspector and finished the building, high fiving all the way to the bank...Welcome to Chicago Mr. Sparklefarts...Dont feel bad, no one was ever going to visit your library anyways...not after the first year anyways.

I Don't know if this construction business is still operating on the southside but it always had a quarter page advertisement in the sun times and I do not know if it is still operating and I do not remember the name of the company. But it was front for the gangster disciples.

I dont see many more people throwing their money to build an Obama LieBarry. Its just a foundation and already it is over budget and has a hefty cost over run. Maybe they just run a skim coat over the cracks and slap it up. Kind of like the newere police facilities in Chicago.
