Crime WAS Down
Remember a week or two ago how we warned Conehead and others about hanging their hats on the so-called crime reduction? How bragging about a drop could come back and bite them in the ass?
These things are cyclical and are connected to too many other factors to predict any sort of short-term trends:
- economic factors;
- ethnic entanglements;
- foreign drug wars affecting supply and demand - even border enforcement;
- local gang battles over territory, rap music, disrespect;
- changes in local / state laws letting criminals out....if they ever went in at all.
And in spite of what McCompstat told everyone, the weather affects crime.
Look at what happened in the middle of this week:
- in 40 hours, 51 people got shot, 9 of those died.
If you want to brag about crime reductions, do it on 01 January about the previous year.

I was tired of Conehead, and Snelling taking credit for a reduction in crime when they took no action, strategy, or plan whatsoever. Every time they took credit for a reduction it was as if the self-congratulating machine was turned on high.
Lets watch them sweat while the national news cycle puts the heat on Chicago for a while. I hope the media asks them what their plan is....that ought to be good for a laugh.

If the homicide and shooting numbers are down in Chicago, it is only because they are having supply chain issues with ammunition...it is merely a slight downtick in the uptick and not because of the brilliant strategies of our superintendent and mayor.
They both took credit for crime reduction, let them now man up and take credit for the increase. Looks like the violence interuptors had better get to work.

Civilian here: None of the geniuses in the pro-crime media seems to notice that the reduction corresponds to Kim Foxx's exit. Then, again, the pro-crime media wouldn't want to publicize the fact that locking up criminals keeps them from committing more crimes.
I recall a year or two ago a citizen had his backpack and laptop stolen at gunpoint. The CPD categorized this theft as "misplaced property!" This is how the books are cooked!

In this city some brave African American LEADER needs to step up and call out this new scourge of terror and identify it as the GHETT-stopo. The GHETT-stopo is responsible for more death in this country than the Klan, and condoned and coddled by those very irresponsible Black(poverty pimps) Leaders that are mirrorless and blame Trump instead of themselves.
SCC, when are we going to have a frank discussion about the out-of-control knife crime, that is starting to besiege the city? I'm certain that some common-sense knife legislation could cure this, just like it did with guns.
Sarcasm off but does anyone else notice how the only weapon that ever gets blamed for society's ills is guns. We always hear about "gun violence," but when there is a stabbing is just "violence," and the knife isn't blamed. It's almost as if there is an agenda of some sort..
