Deez Guys? Again?

Is it "deez," "dem"or "doze" guys?

  • Three high-profile Illinois casinos have now faced allegations over contractors with reputed mob ties

Is anyone surprised that any form of gambling and the associated support businesses has an Outfit connection?

You shouldn't be:

  • The largest fine levied by the Illinois Gaming Board in recent memory — $3.2 million — was paid in 2003 by Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin, whose investors at the time included Gov. JB Pritzker and members of his family.

Now overseen by Pritzker, who took office in 2019 and no longer owns a piece of Grand Victoria, the gaming board will decide if and how to fine Bally’s Chicago Casino for a similar offense: hiring a contractor with reputed mob ties.

Golly, and a shady connection to the governor? Who used to own a piece of the Casino? But doesn't anymore - he just appoints the members o f the "oversight" board.

The only thing that would make worse would be some sort of CPD connection:

  • In 2015, the gaming board proposed fining Rivers Casino in Des Plaines — which landed a lucrative gambling license after the Rosemont project was tanked over fears of mob influence — $2 million after a Sun-Times reporter found that United Service Cos. was hired for security and cleaning work there.

United was long run by former cop Richard “Rick” Simon, who has had business and personal ties to reputed mob figures, including Ben Stein, his late friend and boss.

The Outfit ties to legalized gambling never went away, they just went underground, mostly out of sight. But they're still scamming, skimming and raking in millions while buying politicians to help hide it all.

The private sector mob is forbidden from doing it's mob nature things, without bending the knee of transparency to the political mob.

These political mob fines are merely the politicals means and methods of getting their cut.

The thin sweet/rancid coating of morality, ethics and honesty are merely the mask not at all concealing the perfidies.

With the giveaway of a state park in Shabbona signed off by fata$$. A casino on sacred land is sure to follow. Guess the great white fata$$ will have the drudgery of siting on another casino board.

Always amazes me how the conservatives in Illinois, especially the broadcasters, never dare mention Rosemont as a hotbed of corruption.

I really do not think that the " Chicago Mob" has any real power these days. A few hangers on, but no where close to what they once were only 10 years ago. What talks is money and our corrupt elected officials want money any way they can get it.

If it s Italian Mob - organized crime , IMO they are probably better citizens than the mayor , CTU, Chicaho Teachers Union or the anti American , cult marxists in SEUI . IMO ( WASP) Italyan American organized crime run cement companies , strip clubs are safer , better run than disorganized B crime with Rap music album parties .

It s a fallen world , let s try to make the best of things

Just a question: Since Fatass has sold his "interest" in the Casino, how much have the other members of his family retained?

P.S.: "Rancid coating of morality, ethics and honesty". Excellent my friend!

Mob reputed businesses usually run a pretty tight operation. Clean and tidy. Self policed. Democrats have a problem with mob owned buisnesses because they tend to "cut in" on their grifting and patronage...Pritzker having previous ties to investments in these operations is classic hypocrisy...If I had my druthers, I would choose to let the Mob run their buisnesses within the law before I ever voted for a democrat again.

Gambling has been legal in illinois for 40 years, why did it take so long for Chicago to get a casino. Any real reporter would look into why, what am I saying, a real reporter in Chicago.

there is no more mob its been gone for well over 30 years maybe a few hang overs most are dead or in prison also they have no power
about the closet thing you will get to the mob is the mayors of cicero , berwyn rosemont n melrose park but then they have to watch every move they make
as henry hill said in the movie "goodfellows"
See, the hardest thing for me was leaving the life. I still love the life...We ran everything. We paid off cops. We paid off lawyers. We paid off judges. Everybody had their hands out. Everything was for the taking.

And now it’s all over.

The “Mob” has basically passed the point of being a separate entity. It’s alive and well in the mainstream.
