Logical Conclusion
That post we had up yesterday about the Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability wanting to outlaw traffic stops for so-called "minor" offenses? Something became crystal clear to us yesterday.
We haven't completely lost our street awareness as we sail off into retirement and we noticed a lot of cars on the road that have no front or rear license plates....and no temp tags. Back in the day, that was an automatic stop and a couple of movers. But now?
The CCPSA doesn't want you pulling over people (or folks) for no plates. And even if you tried to pull someone over, the number of persons fleeing and eluding has skyrocketed....and the Department has decreed you can't chase.
Not only that, but the car is now unidentifiable by cameras and plate readers, meaning there is no incentive to comply with licensing or registration requirements demanded by State Law and City Ordinance.
You park that car in a garage and it's pretty much invisible from any sort of ticketing, towing and impounding. And that means even less revenue into city coffers.
We might have to try not registering one of our cars, ditch the plates, drive like an asshole through red light/speed camera zones and refuse to pull over should we be observed by CPD and hide the car in the garage when not needed.
It's already happening elsewhere.

Anyone can stop enough cars in the ghetto and eventually get a gun or some dope, but learn your craft and you wont have to make that many traffic stops to get a felony court date.
Not sure who is worse, the dei merit bosses or the dei police officers they hired who were test failures who got as many chances they needed to pass tests in the academy to "graduate".

I'd try not registering my car except I do 99.99% of my business outside the city limits, hell, outside the county limits. So, I don't think I'll take that chance.
How many stolen or car jacked vehicles are out there with no plates on? Those same vehicles are being used to commit other crimes like drive by shootings and armed robbery, but yeah , it’s a bull shit compliance violation so don’t even look in the direction of that car. Insanity!

Unfortunately the city and department care. So if policy becomes you can’t do X Y and Z, and you go do X Y and Z, well, good luck. Police officers enforce laws, but we aren’t allowed to chase vehicles in chicago. So I don’t chase vehicles, I care very much what the department says there. A chicago police officers #1 job is not to protect and serve, it’s not to enforce laws, it’s to follow policy. Follow policy over all else. It’s fucked up, but it’s what the state, county, city, department and citizenry want by and large.

Approximately 23 years ago I made a traffic stop in Cabrini behind 1230 N Larrabee building, I requested a drivers license and proof of insurance from the M/1/20 driver. He gave me a perplexed look and stated…

Insurance rates doubled when we started getting shitloads of illegals. If nothing else, that should get people motivated to get these people out of our towns and off of our roads. I pay 1500 a year for a 20 year old truck. I’m 59, good driving record.

To answer your question, I went through a mover book a week, yet was never in traffic court ... because I learned the craft instead of taking the easy lazy brainless way out.

Here’s two examples of asshat drivers bucking the system, a blue Toyota Prius shitbox with the old style Illinois license plate letters and numbers “NO CQH II” that has an expired 2022 sticker. Gotta be a cop…or family member of one.
And another: a blue/gray Chevy Equinox with Illinois plate “7019” and also with the D over D on right side of the plate, and Marine Corps emblem on the left side of the plate, it expires 07/25. The two numbers 01 are bare, as if acid washed and absolutely unreadable-unless you’re beside this dim brain.
Yes, it pisses me off because it’s not hard to simply do the right thing!
Revenue and Laz are always in Edison Park to write tickets and look for cars to boot.
Will any insurance company issue a policy on an unlicensed vehicle?
Will any lending institute approve a loan for the purchase on an unlicensed vehicle?
Will any insurance company pay on a claim made on a currently insured vehicle which has expired registration?
The above are three reasons why honest citizens will reliably do what the law requires, even were there to be no laws requiring these.
Nullifying the laws requiring vehicle insurance and registration would not affect honest citizens.
Forbidding the traffic stopping of, and citation issueing, on these only limits the probale cause basis utilized so effectively to discover other, much more relevant to community safety, acts in progress.
And we all know the demographics of those in progress acts.
While I am well aware that many in the community do not pay their traffic fines, Conehead will still be losing some revenue from this.

You would almost think it a civil war in the Chicago police department just reading the comments. Dang.
I lived in Champaign for 50 years. Remember the old "S.T.E.P." Cars? They were everywhere, they wrote thousands of speeding tickets. 12.5% of the population doing 95% of the speeding! You never see the County of City police running radar. Expired stickers no front plates. It used to be all about the revenue. Not any more!
…or instead just park at a busy LSD stoplight during rush hours & throw down $500 Block-the-intersection tickets every time the light changes. Chicago would make up that budget deficit in a month.
