- The second-in-command at the Chicago Police Department is retiring. Yolanda Talley became the first woman to ever hold the position of first deputy superintendent when she was sworn into the post this past March.
It's Talley's job to oversee much of the department's day-to-day operations. A reason for her retirement was not given. It is effective October 15.
Sure, because incompetency and corruption is never given as a "reason" for retiring after six months in the position.
Supposedly, there might be a story brewing in the background and this is an effort to head it off to get her a cushy suburban spot before the shit hits the fan.

The amount of corruption that’s going on in the BIA is unbelievable. The amount of information that the BIA has willfully withheld about Talley is disturbing. Some things are so disturbing that they have never touched the blog out of respect for the members that reported against her.

In a previous post, a poster wrote that the Area One Commander Watson has to implicated YoYo in the corruption cases, then why isn’t Commander Watson taking the hit with YoYo? Apparently, A/1 Watson was involved in the situations and had knowledge of the corruption. If YoYo is leaving then that commander should be punished to. But they are, and no exempt has ever been forced out for any of these reasons. Not being able to do the job is a reason in the department to remove them. So anyone has the real reason why she was forced out, we would like to know. They kept a low profile, and sought ways to make a difference in the department. They worked every single deployment and day off canceled without complaint. Then this BOZO comes along and strikes a hip-jut pose on Wacker Drive during a huge protest downtown, while coppers were on the front lines taking abuse. She fucked up every thing she was charged with overseeing and made changes to procedures that were working because she was the FIRST and she could. She wasn’t humble enough to seek or accept feedback. In short, she ended her career as a fucking disgrace. Thanks for making this job ten times harder on the women you left behind, YoYo. Leave knowing you’re not respected, you disgraced the rank of First Deputy and you set us back ten years or more.

That isn’t true. The IG has investigative authority, but no disciplinary authority. The IG opens up longggggg drawn out sham investigations. The IG can only make recommendations regarding discipline to the BIA and COPA. The IG has never handled down a punishment, they have only made recommendations to the BIA, and in most cases Talley was the Chief of BIA. Therefore, it’s all bullshit.
