Hating on Jerome is hilarious. Dude was the real police and allowed his coppers to be the police as well. Dude let a chase from 009 go into Schaumburg, f-ing Schaumburg. Would stand beside you clearing a house, and if you were fighting with a guy, he had no problem getting busy. Unfortunately beat assignments have never been by seniority and nor is it In the contract. Most good bosses will take an account your seniority for a beat assessment but I worked for a few who threw officers with 20+ years off a car just to assign a cute little PPO or an ass kisser.
Mayor CTU needs let go 90% of his 150-CPD detail and have them cover these CPS student walkouts protesting ICE. Then, the two 40-yr. old men wouldn't have gotten beaten and bloodied by 15-20 Taft HS Hispanic kids last Friday on the corner of Nagle & Higgins.

He didn’t know anyone. He’s a working copper like we all say we need bosses to be. Taken care of how? Always in Patrol, no units, midnights, time in rank.. yes I’m his friend but be honest at least.
His first post as a new sergeant was in 007 on 3rd Watch around 2003. That doesn't sound like he was taken care of as the workload in 007 was unreal for both new and seasoned sergeants back then. Quite a few sergeants complained and got out quickly (hats off to those who stayed.) I was there and never heard him complain. Definitely remember one time him staying at the hospital with some injured officers. I never worked with him or for him after he left 007 back then. Saw him a few times when he was in 009 and he always said hello.

Officers “rank”?? Time on the job is a contractural thing for certain things.. what car your on or what assignment isn’t one of them. The guy with 30 years on is wearing the same color blue shirt as the kid with 1 year on. You no more or less important than that same kid. For some people on this job who are miserable dogs, the only thing they can bark about is how much time they have on… I love seeing when 8 year sgts tell them that it means nothing and do their job. Hilarious. All bark, no bite.
Want that early car old timer? Better do something. I just made Lt in the last class and I’m LOVING screwing with the mutts who think they deserve everything under the sun because of time on the job. I already gave 3 early cars to young guys on 2nd watch who are management. I’m not too popular because of this and I don’t care!!!!!
This goes to show that IAD has some real morons working there. Not knowing that a deposition is done by order of the court? What was the emergency? This stripping could have waited a few hours.

Vehicles… Go to CCSPD or ISP. That take home car was the deal breaker that kept me from choosing CPD (although CPD was my first choice). No regrets. I still have highest regard for CPD.
Political hack? Because he was invited to the White House because he saved people during a robbery in 25? That's not a political hack. That's heroism. You don't have to like him, but he always worked and he never changed as he went up the chain of command. He never expected you to do what he wouldn't do and he was still doing police work in all of his ranks. I know people that got promoted and would barely say hello to people they knew. Don still talked to you like a normal human and didn't act like he was better than you because he became a boss. He deserves a happy and healthy retirement.
That's okay new Lt! With your shitty attitude, old timers can get injured on duty and go iod until retirement. You can deal with all the new kids calling the white shirts for every little issue. Maybe they'll even get you sued.
Have you seen how some of the POs in his detail look? Like they have never set foot in a gym! Overweight, a heart attack waiting to happen !
