Another Conehead Corpse
A man was found shot to death behind a Lawndale home on Saturday morning, and Chicago police have no idea when the murder occurred because no one called 911 to report the gunshots that killed him — and the neighborhood’s ShotSpotters were disconnected by the mayor in September 2024.
Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of South Keeler Avenue around 8:21 a.m. after a 911 caller found the man’s body in a back yard. The victim, who has not yet been identified, appeared to be in his late teens or early 20s and had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
At least it was in 011 - no one calls the police in 011 and finding dead bodies is a semi-regular occurrence.

O.T. Do Not Purchase Test Preparation Products
Part 1 of the detective exam is on February 23. Most people with a pulse should be able to pass that.
Part 2 of the exam will be on April 23rd. Do not pay a single dime to Bernstein, J. Harris or any other test preparation company. It's a total waste of money. Because part two of the exam will not be based on the content of the orders. So what will it be based on? Just like the last two exams for sergeant and detective (except the one for E.T. and F.T.O.). The part 2 is "a written assessment". There is no way anyone can prepare for it. Bernstein wants $2200. Save yourself $2200.
P.S. for anyone who says I am bitter. I already made sergeant from the 2013/2014 exam. Part 1 & part 2 was based on the orders.

Totally agree with you. I'm one of the suckers who purchased Burnstein and all I was provided were copies of the GO's/SO's. Burnstein is a trained psychologist/opportunist and a great used car sales man. There are coppers on the job who, test after test, continue to purchase test prep material from Burnstein. Still holding on to the hope of a promotion because Burnstein claims his students "rank the highest". If you analyze the case this no different to a perpetual domestic abuse in which case the victim returns to be abused over and over. How many times can one touch the stove.

No it won't, it will be an extra 4 grand a year on top of what it is now. Detective is the best job on the department. If you want to make $200,000 plus... done! If you don't want to do shit..... done! If you want to be somewhere in the middle.... done! I was a detective and became a Sergeant in 2024, it was the worst decision I have ever made in my career.

My intention was not to "pat my myself on the back". I should have communicated my thoughts better. So that is my bad.
The sergeant exam in 2013/2014 was based on the order. I studied every single day. Even when I did not want to. I did not even score really high. But I was in the 400-550 range.

Do we really care if Shotspotter was removed? The community doesn't care. The politicians don't care. The neighbors don't care. The gangs don't care. The MSM doesn't care.
No one is getting hurt rushing to Shotspotter calls. Gang members, drug dealers, drug users, and other nefarious types out after midnight are the victims. Maybe even a few demorat voters.
