CTA Crime Claims CTA Worker
It's not just happening at the stations - it's happening around the train yards, too:
A man identified in employment records as a CTA rail employee was found shot to death outside the agency’s 98th Street railyard entrance early Monday. Nobody reported the gunfire when it occurred, likely because the shooting took place on a remote overpass. However, that bridge was monitored by the city’s ShotSpotter gunfire detection network until Mayor Brandon Johnson disconnected the system in 2024.
At about 4:15 a.m., the Chicago Fire Department responded to a report of a person down in the 9900 block of South State Street, just outside the CTA’s 98th Street Yard entrance, officials said. When paramedics arrived, they discovered the 57-year-old man had been shot in the chest and summoned Chicago police officers to the scene. The victim was taken to Christ Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:52 a.m., according to officials.
And it's a Conehead Corpse in an area formerly covered by ShotSpotter.
This one fell outside of the weekend numbers due to the time of discovery - but it may have been an actual weekend number if ShotSpotter had been active.

Poor guy. Not even safe at work. CTA is garbage. You’re nuts to ride it without a gun. But, you get what you vote for. Carry on Democrats
Can we say lawsuit for the CTA, the City and Bonehead the Conehead.
This sadness my heart. Someone just trying to work and support a family.
Imagine the pile of bodies if CTA tried to enforce fare payment... the 90% (folks) aint going to like that.
Chicago crime hits CBS workers -

The two journalists escaped from the incident unharmed
A CBS News Chicago reporter and photographer were attacked Monday afternoon near the Adler Planetarium while preparing for a live report, according to the station and Chicago police.
The incident happened around 4:25 p.m. in the 900 block of East Solidarity Drive, near Adler Planetarium, Chicago Police told Fox News Digital.
Multiple men arrived in a truck before they allegedly exited the vehicle and rushed at the victims as they shouted racial slurs at one of the journalists, according to police.

The CTA can't protect their employees.
Decent man doing what he’s gotta do and gets snuffed out by some scum bag
The cta needs to work on discovering the root cause for this incident
The cta needs bigger signs and an actual recording that says no guns allowed so those who cannot read can be informed
Class action lawsuit for CTA crime victims is discussed at prominent law firm, numbers could kill the redline expansion.
On the same note
CBS news crew was attacked on 29 Jun 26 by 3 male blacks. They used a dog to intimidate the news crew and then proceeded to go in the work van.
It's pretty bad when you can't show up for work on a city property without getting shot.
Years ago I heard a question at a "Townhall" where several of the political overlords were allowing the serfs to speak and ask questions...
One was passed the microphone and asked "When are you going to level the playing field and allow the law abiding citizen to carry concealed firearms, as the criminals do?"
The proverbial shit hit the fan. Guy wouldn't give back the mic until they answered him... Then he left.
Need to bring this guy back to ask the same question about the CTA and other bullshit "sensitive areas" where CCW is denied. CTA is nothing but a victim zone at this point, and the criminals take advantage of it.
A 57 year old man at work trying to earn a living. Heartbreaking. I hope every politician and their family members burn in hell because their pro criminal policies are responsible for the deaths of many innocent citizens.
Did anyone else notice only the news crew referred to them as white, everyone else said Hispanic...
Ofds. took victim's Mercedes SUV
But the mentally challenged mayor says crime is down, and it’s perfectly safe to ride the CTA, and worry about paying no stinking fare because that’s racist !
CBS spokesperson they were horrified and shocked of the incident...Really?? Pull your head out of your asses and report the truth everyday about whats going on in this City...when this happens to them then its all over the news like were supposed to feel sorry for them.
hey, it was just 2 days ago I predicted there would be shots fired on the west side and south side,,, so I now identify as "shot spottert"
The blood of this man is on Alderman Hall's hands for not allowing a controlled parking lot for 95th Red Line station.
The workers have been trying to get a parking facility at 95th on the northeast corner on State. Alderman wants a strip mall. I think there's plans for something.
95th is the ONLY cta terminal without a parking lot attached/across the street. Employees are targeted going to/coming from work.
