Reports from the State FOP Conference:
- Illinois State FOP Vice President and Chicago Lodge 7 President John Catanzara addressed the delegates from across the state. Instead of focusing on issues affecting law enforcement, he spent part of his remarks complaining about a website that has, "been critical of his leadership," and "made fun," of him Although he never mentioned it by name, it was obvious what he was referring to. He became visibly emotional, saying he couldn't believe people would question his character and integrity. His voice shook, he appeared to fight back tears, and the room full of law enforcement officers from across Illinois seemed noticeably uncomfortable. Nobody in that room wanted to watch John cry cause his feelings were hurt.
Well, golly....
- if you'd just answer legit questions from the members you claim to represent,
- open the books as required by the By-Laws instead of imposing improper restrictions (as you yourself complained about when running for office)be getting emails on a daily basis about
- and stop with the backroom politics, strange hiring practices, questionable investigations and tossing out elected representatives for real or imagined offenses regarding your behavior
...then maybe we wouldn't be getting daily emails from people whose voices and concerns have been dismissed out of hand, along with continuous rumors of outside investigations by both the State Lodge and the feds?

John Catanzara is everything you don’t want in a Lodge President. All he cares about is his buddies and girlfriends. .
The fix was in for MM appeal to the state for the charges against John. Everyone of those on the grievance committee are in John’s back pocket. One was falling asleep during the meeting, couldn’t be bothered with this. Another was making up confrontations from MM. The whole thing was a crap show.

While on Duty Disability you can not make more than your 75% of you awarded amount. So if your Disability earnings are $80,000.00 you can not earn more than $80,000.00 if you work another job outside the department. So he will not be able to receive Captains Pay. The most they can only pay him ais as high as the amount he was awarded on Duty Disability. He would be in violation if found he is making more under the Illinois Statute.
Key Rules for Outside Employment
• The 150% Rule: Your combined income from the disability benefit and your new job cannot exceed 150% of the current salary paid for the rank you held when you were removed from the police payroll. ®
• The "Any Service" Clause: If your disability is deemed by the Pension Board to permanently render you totally disabled for any remunerative service, you receive 75% of your salary. Working while claiming total disability could trigger a review of your medical status by the Board. •
• Pension Board Reporting: It is crucial to report any outside income and be completely transparent with the Pension Board. Working in a capacity that contradicts the medical restrictions you claimed could jeopardize your duty disability pension
Hey JCat it’s ok to humiliate and insult everyone who doesn’t agree with you or kiss the ring but you’re supposed to be untouchable? Open the books and agree to a forensic analysis of FOPs spending during your two terms.

Other allegations include he used a Fop credit card to pay for vacations to Jamaica and he stole money or never paid it back ?
As the President he has with the consent of the Board changed the rules to not allow dues paying members access to what he has spent “ their “ money on .
The FBI probably has in their possession the past State President’s computer and all of the e mails that they exchanged prior to their fallout . Don’t you think it’s a little peculiar that two members of the Illinois State Lodge Executive Board both retired at the same time ?
Catanzara was on a New York radio show with the head of the New York police association and he’s in jail .
Finally the FBI works very slowly and takes their time investigating each and every crime that has been committed be it Federal , State or local charges . When the FBI finally arrests anyone there is a probability of a one per cent chance of being found not guilty . Anyone caught lying to them will be incarcerated up to years for each violation .
