CraigsList Set Up

It seems the would-be-robbers posted an ad on the computer bulletin board to lure victims, only they got the wrong victim this time:
  • Markham police Deputy Chief Tony DuBois said an off-duty male and female officer went examine a car they saw on Craigslist.com when they were attacked.

“They were looking to buy a used car,” DuBois said. “They made a phone call to a guy and he said, ‘Come out and take a look, call me when you get to the address.’”

When the officers arrived, one of the men allegedly led them though a gangway to the back yard -- where the car was allegedly parked, DuBois said.
The offenders took the female hostage and hit the male in the chest with the bat before being shot by the off-duty. Good thing he was armed or this might have ended up along the lines of "Off Duty Officers Found Dead."

But the truly amazing reporting was done by WBBM Saturday (no link available). The anchor or news reader or whatever they call themselves now said something along the lines of, "The three men approached [the officer] not knowing he was armed."

Thanks for proving the necessity of Concealed Carry for all non-criminal citizens. The bad guys don't know who's packing and who isn't. Therefore, they stop doing bad things in the fear that they just might get ventilated. The refusal to be an easy victim should be ingrained in every citizen. And the fear of an armed populace should be front and center in every criminal's tiny cranium.

Every single state that has adopted a Concealed Carry law has experienced a significant, measurable reduction in street crime. That's a fact. Daley can't deny it. The Brady people can't deny it. Obama can deny it if he likes, but he'll eat his words. Again.

No shit, you would think that after 20-30 years of futility the jackasses that run this city might try a different approach. Hmm lets see, maybe if we introduce ANOTHER 10 gun restricting laws and have a few more marches the lawless savages will stop shooting....

THAT HAS NOT WORKED!!!!

So why not give concealed carry a try for 5 - 10 years and see what happens. Didn't think so, you are just a bunch of leeches that really don't care.

MUSLIM crime victims could gain the right to have their cases overseen by police from their own religion, it emerged last night.

Police in London already give victims the right to ask for a Sikh officer to be involved in an investigation but the scheme could be introduced for other religions elsewhere.

Chief Supt Joanna Young, from the Met’s Criminal Justice Policy Unit, said: “If it’s a success, I would encourage the other (police) associations to do likewise.”

The key is that you have to ask the people coming to view the car if they are the Police or if they are armed BEFORE you pull out the Louisville Slugger and take batting practice on their ass !!! Common sense, really!

Regarding Saturday's shooting in Pilsen.

When are these idiots going to learn that these gangs do not care about them? The gangs are glad that their members are spineless followers and not able to think on their own. Idiots, you are just another body and number to them. When you are gone- there will be another idiot to replace you. You are fighting for nothing- absolutely nothing! You do not own the corner, block and you sure as hell do not pay taxes!! Same idiots- they start banging at 14 and still banging at 35! What a joke!

Do you idiots ever think that while you are shooting- you could catch a totally innocent bystander?

You are morons!

The neighborhood is changing????? Yeah, obviously not fast enough and it doesn't help that we have all these yuppies and liberals moving in who refuse to call 911 because they do not have confidence in our police or they do not want to call the police on the "victims" of our society- You know, WE AS A SOCIETY HAVE LET THESE YOUNG THUGS DOWN!

Please, give me a break! These kids now-a-days are lazy, weak-minded, and want fast results/money and refuse to work for it.

People ask "where are the police?" Well... tell me Mr. Mayor and Jody Weis, Where are the police? and do not give me a sugar-coated answer- because I am the type of girl who would rather take it dry! Where are our units? Are they deployed somewhere else AGAIN? The last 2 times that I called the 12th District to inquire - a Sgt. told me that the tact teams were deployed elsewhere! It is not that the police do not want to police Pilsen- they can't because they're are not in the district!

Mr. Alderman... any response to what is happening in your ward? He must be hiding under that Tri-Taylor rock again!

Do not even get me started on the residents of Pilsen- maybe just one of you dorks who saw them lingering about should've called the police prior to the shooting! Like I would have done! I like to be pro-active not reactive!

To the off-duty sheriff and p.o.- KUDOS! CPD... please know that there are a lot of Pilsen residents that support you and thank you! We wish you could do more but with a weasel as a mayor, we understand!

Stay safe and May God bless you all!

A Pro-Police Pilsen Resident.

OT - Lets talk about the shooting at 72 & Seeley, the events that led up to the shooting, and the aftermath.
A high ranking GD every year throws a memorial (a gangsta party) for his dead momma which is on its 5th anniversity.
Most of the 3rd watch in 007 see this "memorial" (gangsta party) gradually getting out of hand and spilling into the streets toward the end of their shifts and relay the info to the midnight cars. This info was relayed to the higher-ups with recommendations by the sgts. that the crowds be dispersed immediately due to the amount of known GD's on scene and their past histories of violence.

Well, as we all know, the "higher-ups" decided to allow the "memorial" to escalate into an unlicensed englewood gangsta block party. (God knows Why?)

In Summary, A City wide 10-1 without a slowdown for about 15minutes - 2 people shot, (1) hit in the neck and chest (hopefully dead but wasnt confirmed as of 0300) and (1) hit in the leg. Numerous shitheads tazed as well as the usual englewood nonsense. (Fuck the Police). 400 people on scene and no witnesses. (Oh No! not another ghetto shooting (hopefully homicide) going unsolved). Who cares!!

Thank god no coppers were hurt. 007 bosses - get your shit together!!
There is plenty of help in your district (TRU, MSF, GEU, Safe summer).

By the way - To all you Mobile Strike Force "elite" who hail from024, 017, 014, 019, and the rest of the slow districts - ACT LIKE YOU'VE BEEN THERE BEFORE!!! I have seen raw PPO's handle these situations than you strokes. Walking down an englewood block talking shit to these people does nothing but esculate the situation. Let them say what they are gonna say to you and then laugh your ass off about it over a couple of beers after work.

TRU, GEU, Safe summer, and even MSF (act like you've been there before MSF) - nice showing and good leadership especially by 4236. (Wish all the sgt's were like you)
Be safe, 007th District Beat cop.

Can anyone tell us how many shootings and homicides there have been from 7/24 thru 7/25? Seems like there's a shooting every few hours. 3 in Englewood, 1 in Pilsen, 2 in Gresham, 1 on near west side, 2 in Morgan Park. Several fatalities. The gun laws don't mean a thing in this city. All the bad guys have guns and are obviously fond of using them. Since the courts will not enforce these strict gun laws even when the thugs are caught and convicted, (the scumbag that murdered PO Valadez was on probation for a gun charge), I suggest the average honest John Q. Public engage in a bit of civil disobedience and buy a handgun and learn to use it to protect yourself and your family!

I say:

I'm all for conceal carry, but your argument is a fraud. 48 states have it. Two (Illinois being one) do not. Illinois has seen a large reduction in murders over the past three decades. Is that because of our stance on guns? Of course not. Every state saw a significant reduction in crime in the 90's because of reporting criteria put in place back then. You cannot possibly think that conceal carry will make our stats any better. Think about it. Who REALLY wants to carry a concealed weapon and not worry about being arrested? Good guys or bad guys? I'd say more bad guys because, for the most part, good guys are busy trying to get laid and are not concerned about stuffing a giant 50 cal Desert Eagle in their pants.

Yes, this does prove that we need to right to conceal. I don't understand the politics in Chicago not letting law abiding people have the right to conceal. How many times have it been proven that its the thugs and gangbangers doing the shooting... and once in a while they pick an off-duty who is able to put a cap back in their ass!I agree with someone on another post, 'i'll rather be tried by 12 than carried by 6'. Far left Kay was the most reasoned one on the air. He actually gave a small part of the blame to Gates. Of course, he gave the lions share to Crowley.

One of his callers brought up this shooting, and claimed that all plainclothes Officers and off-duty Officers should not be armed. He said, speaking seriously, that the off-duty Officer shot without justification and that these offenders had probably just finished playing baseball!

Listed to the radio station and hear what we have against us. These people are left wing radical nutcases! God help us!!!!!!!!!

so lets do a little detective work here. your not a 007 district beat cop. my guess is that you work in tru.. maybe or most likely on 4236 team. second, your last update about the guy shot was at 3am. sounds about the right time that tru got done with work. your only bashing msf... which everyone knows tru and msf hate eachother, but all the district guys... especially 007 love to rip on tru no matter what they do... so lets paint the picture here. you work in tru. you were there last night and really got pumped up about the 10-1. you most likely were origionally from 007 but now are in tru and were standing out on the street just looking cool. you guys got cut around 3am where you last heard the victim was not dead yet. you then went out to a co workers house, parking lot or 5am bar and had a few cocktails telling your 10-1 englewood stories. you went and picked up some food and ate it and made a half drunk post at 548am trying to pound your chest and talk sh*t. hey mr. tru.. why dont you act like youve been there before and not make it so obvious about where you work. dont try and cover by saying your a 007 beat cop. if you worked in 007 on midnights you would have an update on the victim because you would still be at work. typical tru warrior.. now go get that dime bag kid, leave the police work up to the men.

And then the same shit happens as the last 4 years: shots fired, brawl breaks out. The savages actually fought with the paramedics who were wheeling people away. Tasers deployed (which really pissed off the boss in 007) and nonsense finally ends. No one hurt. Great response by everyone involved. Can't wait till next years "peaceful GD" gathering

This is what I hate most about this city since moving here: that concealed carry (or open carry, for that matter) is illegal. The only goal of laws banning concealed carry can be to disarm law-abiding citizens, since the very nature of a criminal is to ignore the law. I'm willing to jump through hoops to get a concealed carry license; do as many background checks as you want, require training courses, fingerprint me, whatever — but don't deny me the right to defend myself.

Let me make something clear to all the Liberals and outsiders reading this blog. There are hundreds of thousands of gangmembers in the City of Chicago. A very large percentage if not more than 90% are minorities. If you see an officer interviewing a suspect or an offender, please do not misconceive that he is racial profiling. It is most likely that he is dealing with a gang member. Yes, the guys responsible for the majority of the crimes in the city.

Be safe, 007th District Beat cop.

I heard it last night over the scanner 007-008 it was out of control 10-1’s and even the paramedics felt threading while assisting the knuckled- head, and like you said it, why do they allow this type of CRAP and BULLSHIT none sense SAVAGE PARTE????.
If the district top ranks know about this ANIMAL BEHAIVOR year after year why don’t they do anything about it, and what about the elected officials (Alderthief)
Why don’t they call the building city inspectors officials on him, and what about the trouble building officer of the same district, doesn’t he/she know that, this building is a problematic building or he/she afraid? .Im pretty sure the building where this asshole resides is not a palace? Even if it was, when the city inspectors want to fuck w/you believe me they find anything.
Too many questions but not enough answers, I bet next year will be all the same!

This is what I hate most about this city since moving here: that concealed carry (or open carry, for that matter) is illegal. The only goal of laws banning concealed carry can be to disarm law-abiding citizens, since the very nature of a criminal is to ignore the law. I'm willing to jump through hoops to get a concealed carry license; do as many background checks as you want, require training courses, fingerprint me, whatever — but don't deny me the right to defend myself.

so lets do a little detective work here. your not a 007 district beat cop. my guess is that you work in tru.. maybe or most likely on 4236 team. second, your last update about the guy shot was at 3am. sounds about the right time that tru got done with work. your only bashing msf... which everyone knows tru and msf hate eachother, but all the district guys... especially 007 love to rip on tru no matter what they do... so lets paint the picture here. you work in tru. you were there last night and really got pumped up about the 10-1. you most likely were origionally from 007 but now are in tru and were standing out on the street just looking cool. you guys got cut around 3am where you last heard the victim was not dead yet. you then went out to a co workers house, parking lot or 5am bar and had a few cocktails telling your 10-1 englewood stories. you went and picked up some food and ate it and made a half drunk post at 548am trying to pound your chest and talk sh*t. hey mr. tru.. why dont you act like youve been there before and not make it so obvious about where you work. dont try and cover by saying your a 007 beat cop. if you worked in 007 on midnights you would have an update on the victim because you would still be at work. typical tru warrior.. now go get that dime bag kid, leave the police work up to the men.

You mean the country that has never had a Constitution, Bill of Rights, has no history of Democracy, Freedom of the Individual, and an incredibly long history of feudalism, warring amongst clans, the fucked up 'religion' of Islam, a citizen mentality that has, maybe, progressed a cunt hair past barbarism, and a current population barely literate, you mean that country?

And you figure that comparing that country's day to day conditions with this city is rational?

And, since you seem to be so very uninformed, firearms, the great equalizers, depending on caliber and functioning, come in all sizes.

So, studboy, you can continue to stuff your shorts with various penis shaped fruits and/or vegetables, as you occupy your time on this earth "...trying to get laid...".

I really want to carry a concealed weapon, and don't think I should worry much about getting arrested. I mean, the only reason I'd even brandish a firearm is if I intend to use it to defend myself or my family, so there's no reason to worry about "getting arrested". I would bet most, if not all, the police would agree with me.

As for the Desert Eagle comment..why do all anti-gun fucktards use this one particular firearm as a reference? I will bet $100 you've never seen one, let alone held one or fired one (it's a hell of a gun, but too big and heavy for most people to carry concealed). Plus .50AE is expensive as hell.

I would be perfectly happy with a Kel-Tec P3-AT stuck inside my waistband at 5 o'clock, and you'd never even know it was there.

Not so anymore. Where have you been?

Plus, your third sentence is messed up. Technically, you cannot buy any handgun within the city of Chicago.

Did you mean you cannot register them WITH the city of Chicago? Depends on all of the circumstances surrounding the purchase.

Did you buy them from a neighbor? Then, you are right, you cannot register them.

Did you buy them from a gun shop or a FFL dealer? Then you can register them, but not as a citizen, only as a retired leo.

Call Gun Registration. If you are lucky, you might talk to somebody with the right knowledge. It's a crap shoot.

The idea that handing deadly guns out to everyone would make any place a safer one just sounds totally wrong.

I really wonder how the "non criminal part of society" part should be detected for handout.

Which brings up the question: How long does it take for everyone _not_ carrying a gun to be rather viewed as suspected criminal?

Money, fire, water, electricity, doctors...all cause more mayhem than firearms. There's nothing dangerous about firearms at all. On their own, they are incapable of anything.

Also, Concealed Carry doesn't mean handing out guns. It means people have to buy them. After a background check. CCW generally is a more thorough background check, and most states have a mandatory class, test, and qualification. CCW holders are statistically more law abiding than most unarmed citizens!

Get your facts straight, handjob.

SCC say:

Every single state that has adopted a Concealed Carry law has experienced a significant, measurable reduction in street crime. That's a fact. Daley can't deny it. The Brady people can't deny it. Obama can deny it if he likes, but he'll eat his words. Again.

Your a 'tard. Go back to sipping your latte and shut the f up. Anyone with a morsel of common sense sees the truth that concealed carry reduces violent crime. Look to Florida, when they initiated concealed carry, violent crime dropped to the lowest in 20 years, with one glaring exception, tourists. Why, because the criminals knew tourists arrive by plane and are unarmed!
