Missed OT Pay Day?

If we were as inept at our jobs as everyone at Payroll appears to be, we'd be up on charges, suspended and probably fired:

  • We can't go even a month without a paycheck screw-up. From taking taxes out of uniform allowances to ignoring withholding changes to union dues fuck ups to missing OT pay dates. Tell me again why we switched from the 1st and the 16th?  Because every other Department was on a different pay schedule?

Are any of these other Departments having the issues CPD is or is it just the Police getting screwed on payday?

Or is the City living paycheck to paycheck and they can't play the float any more?

The future is almost here.

Your check will be delayed a few days in a few months, then a week, then two weeks, then a month, then two months....followed by no job and no city.

Many officers will be fooled and continue coming to work believing the promise that the check is coming.

This is not a joke... the largest commercial lender in philly went under this week.

It’s happening.

Everyone person in payroll should be fired or kicked out of their spot and people who can actually do the job should be in that department. There's been issues for at least two years. They must have hired CPS graduates who can't do math.

Most city workers are completely useless at their position held!!! Especially at the top. Look at all the made up BS titles in the budget that these morons call themselves.
This is why the city is broke. It’s a million times worse than having 50 aldermen and that is bad.

The city opted to change the dates to have more time to avoid the reasons listed. They are still having same issues . City is just making money on the interest by issuing checks a week after pay periods. Everyone hasn’t switched to the 1st and 16th as the city lied about. Mayor, City Council and non union get paid on the 1st and 16th. Everyone should get paid one day after they have worked not 7 days.

Last June the sheriff proposed a settlement for a grievance with the DOC Lieutenants. This grievance went back over 3 years. Both sides accepted the settlement, that included a clause to “expiate backpay”. As of today we are still waiting for it. The sheriffs administration has lied multiple times regarding why it’s late and who’s at fault. His attorney Peter Kramer continues to lie and blame everyone but themselves

I retired last year, when I did I was given a Duty Availability check. Payroll deducted taxes. Then they took the Duty Availability back, full amount not minus the taxes, no changes as far as I could tell in my taxed amounts that had already been deducted. Don’t even get me started on how many hoops I had to jump though just to collect my remaining checks- checks literally in 3,places because they allegedly can’t direct deposit your last check (but somehow they managed to dd the Duty and took it back electronically). I had checks in 2 places at HQ and one sent to my unit. I couldn’t find any answers as to whether Duty Availability was retroactive or for period ahead. I called FOP but they were in the midst of all their changes & retirements of knowledgeable staff. I couldn’t get anyone to answer me and gave up on trying. Personally, I’m not chalking it all up to ineptness. I think there is some funny business going on and being sugar coated as ineptness. It’s all interesting that this seemed to coincide with the payroll dates.

YES! ISP has 1 person full time and a few support staff for payroll. They are GROSSLY overworked using a system (no joke here) essentially MS-DOS. Everyone has to be reminded to ensure their hours match their check stub. Plenty of missing OT and or actual regular hour checks causes even more problems. Some folks NEVER look, thankfully, many of us try to spread the word "CHECK YOUR PAY!" Why are we still on something so old, one asks? Well, if it's not broke, why fix it? .........here's to hope folks get their earned pay in a reasonable time, but we all know they won't.

The bigger issue is that a lot of coppers seem to have no money in their accounts and freak out when there is a glitch with pay. Stressful life for some I say.

Is that payroll specialist John ardvetas a former laborer with water dept ? Alias mudball ? Must be pretty old, maybe his kid. Waters timekeepers went to jail 20 some years ago with some scandal ,so many hard to remember, sw side treasurer or something, can't remember if John a got sacrificed. Need a scorecard to know the players. Should bring the green sheet back, corrupt politician version. Never mind that's what scc is. Carry on.

Retired 20 years ago from the shitty during the buyout. Daley completely fucked 1000s of us on the way out the door. None of the retirees got our backpay. Daley said city couldn't afford it. Got money for invaders though. Then he paid us off at a reduced obsolete title code we started at about 4.oo an hour less. Sued and won in court. City appealed and its still in the courts 20 years late. Hope my grandkids are still alive when we win,I'll sure be gone. How can anyone believe these democrats when they cry poor then throw trillions out to the crowd to be reelected. Oh,and the municipal pension is funded at about 19 %. These people are scum and I live ro see karma eat their lunch some day

So in your feeble mind if you have money in your bank account it's ok not to receive a pay check?
